Hey the Wolf algorithm was bugged not allowing attackable planets to the souht for wolves.

you need to put that in some kind of story, like, they ran out of fuel or met a giant space ameba or such a thing :P

Or we could just tell it like it was, Wolf and Steiner made an alliance, PGI hardwired it into the game.

[I would dearly like to see some balanced reporting on the fighting on Tukayyid.

While I have not yet polished my first contribution sufficiently to have it considered for inclusion by TL.DR in their thread here (it will be a Journal Entry and serve as foil or counterpoint to the ongoing Journal Entries of starwolf1991,) tonight I will craft for tomorrow's submission a Clan Smoke Jaguar "Paul Harvey's - The Rest of the Story" on the First Battle of Tukayyid.

This all is highly enjoyable, and given how my Unit (the 1st Jaguar Guards Cluster) now has 5-reported and 7-total, successful Combats for the planet of Trondheim, it is only FAIR and BALANCED to give rise to a regularly recurring Clan component on this thread.

Please consider that quite a lot of IS viewers tune into TL,DR for all the latest IS news... how many new Clan viewers will be added if others join me in providing respectful and representative contributions THROUGH the TL,DR Staff?

And just how WILDLY successful could this thread become if we all were able to successfully meld and merge these diverse contributions into a cohesive narrative ALL centered on FRR in general and the planet of Trondheim specifically?

I bet it would be a most highly entertaining journey!]

Yes, and maybe we can make some of you clanner boys embrace the open culture of the inner sphere and change sides. :D

The great space amoeba of non-passing? Blorp!

if you played Master of orion, you know space amebas are able to do so. Also, those weird white floating things on the faction map in MWO make me always think of them.

The TL,DR has received reports that Tukayyid and Lothan have fallen to the Smoke Jaguars in a complete surprise attack.
Reports are scattered and unconfirmed as to how the Jaguars achieved this level of stealth in their assault.

Speculative theories indicate the Jaguars negotiated a path through Ghost Bear space to allow their Alpha Galaxy to land virtually unopposed on the planet before fiercely engaging the defenders. Tukayyid had become a rallying point for various factions gathering to defend the Inner Sphere's last true democracy. With the defenders wiped out and the Inner Sphere's Vanguard smashed and scattered, it seems the Free Rasalhague Republic is seeing its last days.

The TL,DR is seeking any and all knowledge about the Blitz of Tukayyid, to compile a greater account for a battle that will live in infamy in the hearts of the FRR.

Inside the FRR

FRR Drives Through Steiner
--The Republic's campaign against Steiner has met with resistance, but overall the battle-hardened units of the FRR have made quick work of the Steiner defenders. The FRR began a campaign late last week that has seen them drive through seven Steiner world's, most of them either previously conquered by the FRR, or former FRR holds. The offensive sees no signs of stopping, as the FRR is caught between a rock and a hard place and is desperate to get out of the way of the Clans.

For their part, Steiner defenses have been mixed. At times Steiner has defended vehemently, even coming close to taking back a world recently captured by the FRR. At other times, defenses have been so light the local militia simply lays down their arms before the Dropships even touch down. Such a defense has been hard for the FRR to plan around, as they struggle to balance assaulting Steiner with defending what little holdings they have left. Thus far, the FRR has been determined to secure Steiner worlds first before turning their attention to the Clans. Often this seems to allow the Clans free capture of the undefended world; but at the same time, the FRR is making gains away from the Clans, which is something they have not done until this point.

Ghost Bears Definitively Cut-off Wolf
--It seems the threat from Clan Wolf is finally over, for what little consolation that is worth. With the Ghost Bears circling around the FRR into the Corewardmost region of the Lyran Commonwealth, they have taken every accessible route for Clan Wolf to drive towards Terra, save through Clan space.

Some wonder why the Wolves didn't drive through the last few Steiner worlds they could hit sooner. Some say their JumpShips were sabotaged with a virus that prevented them from properly entering the coordinates of the next Steiner system. Others say the Wolves' ongoing feud with the Bears distracted them long enough for the Bears to cut them off, unnoticed. Some of the more joking and radical suggestions that have been made point to everything from 'Invasion Sickness' to a 'Great Space Amoeba' affecting their JumpDrives. The last one inparticular has become a common talking point in the local bars around the FRR/Steiner border worlds, and according to rumors has developed into a cult of 'Space Amoeba Worshippers' on Quarrel.

Whatever the case may be, the FRR does not have to worry about the Wolves anymore.

Blitz of Tukayyid; Smoke Jaguars Pounce
--The Blitz of Tukayyid will be covered in its own special edition. Stay tuned.

Marik Rallies - Comes to Defense of Rasalhague
--In an incredible showing of good-faith and united defense against the Clans, Marik forces have begun to arrive in the defense of Rasalhague. While many individuals from across the 'Sphere have come time and again to fight the Clan Menace, the FRR has not seen such an organized response against the Clan Invasion since the early waves. Reports indicate the first to arrive were elements of the Black Widow Company, a well-known and highly respected Marik loyalist unit. The two Companies of forces dropped in defense of the FRR on the 2nd of February and fought the Clanners hard for the planet. Several other unnamed units have followed in recent days.

The FRR continues to lose planets at an alarming rate, but the first organized defense of FRR worlds from other factions has been a huge boost in morale for the KungsArme, who have welcomed the help with open arms - and sometimes even tears of joy.

The bigger question however, remains: Is this just a one-time thing, with a bored Marik unit looking for a fight? Or is this the start of perhaps something greater, perhaps a united Inner Sphere intent on taking it back to the Clans, or at least protecting Rasalhague from annihilation? Are these battle-hardened warriors, fresh to the Clan front the salvation of Rasalhague, or the result of the last cries for help from a forlorn nation?

Only time will tell.

FRR <25 Systems
--It seems hard to believe, but less than 25 planets remain affiliated with the FRR. The Free Rasalhague Republic is crumbling at the seams with no clear path for the future.

We welcome the Marik pilots that came to fight and die in defense of our worlds. Even if it should turn out to only be a limited operation, every bit of help we can get to keep our civilians safe from the clan threat is welcome to us.
Marik pilots, your sacrifices on our worlds will not be forgotten, as long there is only one FRR warrior still alive we will sing the songs of your dead.

Though it was difficult to part for a time for the beauty and majesty that is Misby Flats, Trondheim's own JGx was spirited away under cover of a pa Oceanic-Night to assist 228 in the path-finding and earliest attacks on Tukayyid.

"Organized Operational Opportunism" is the best way I can describe what occurred in CSJ Command Channels once the FRR world of Tukayyid was identified for Liberation.

To further understanding with ALL Rasalhaguens (and not just Viche-FRR, though Viche-FRR represents AN EVER GROWING REALITY the nature and people of which I would hope TL,DR does not discount nor further ignore the existence of) I offer this running thread in the hope it provides some of measure understanding (though, to be honest, we Smoke Jaguars were as surprised as ANY to learn that our Scientists had learned of a way to bypass entire star systems and strike DEEP behind what should have been Front Lines: http://mwomercs.com/...ost__p__4160030 )

It is unknown if the over-taxed Jumpships which performed this Operation MIRACLE could be made to function a second time..

...though I am sure we shall all find out in the fullness of Time.

So now you clanner scum even infiltrate our newsrooms? Dirty motherless kitty cats, go home you can´t handle our MEAD!

Due to these "abnormalities", it is looking like the history books will change Operation Revival to something a little more Accurate: "Operation Plaid the IS"...

It would be nice to see recognition for the units that got there name on the planets in your news update. example. st. ives was taken my apocalypse lancers. It would be interesting to get to read a quote form the units commander as well. just a thought.

Correct. The TL,DR will only provide information it obtains primary source knowledge of. Furthermore, with planets shifting hands at such a rapid pace, it is impossible to include planet changes and unit information without sacrificing everything else. Therefore, the TL,DR only includes unit-specific info if said units make a well known contribution/action - and then, only in regards to the FRR (for or against). Even then we are bound to miss things, such as including the 1st Hussars' taking of 5 planets in the drive into Steiner.

AHA! This is all about the Mead, I always suspected the drive towards Terra was a front for something far more diabolical!

Now you have made it much more personal, #saveourmead on your local HPG net to show support for the FRR's efforts to save the mead.

Mead is a terrible thing to waste on a clam!
