Today I left the unit I was in (joined to test the CW) to go back to my old unit. I can't join a unit with a different affiliation because I still have a contract on.

Oh yes, I was contracted with Davion, the unit I want to go to is with Steiner. I choose to break my contract, it's 100.000 c-bills.Fair enough.

I pay and the contract is still on. 100.000 c-bills gone and now it says I can't break it anymore because it has less than 2 days going on...

A support ticket has already been sent in. I post this for public knowledge.

Breaking off a contract seems to incur a 2 day penalty (learned that early on). Not sure if that is affected by length of contract, but that probably isn't the case.

This is only to prevent people from switching units/factions frequently. So, you need to take your lumps and choose wisely.

Additionally, for each day of the contract left, you pay a C-Bill penalty. Not sure on the difference of LP penalties but I think those scale as well.

Breaking a contract doesn't just carry the penalty of a C-bill payout. There's also still a waiting period before you can take out another contract. I think how long that waiting period is might be related to the original length of the contract.

I had a similar problem, I can see the two day waiting period if you are switching factions. It keeps people from bailing on there current faction for the wining one. But I tried to break my contract simply to join a friends unit that was in the same faction (jade falcon) and it won't let me join his unit. If you are staying in the same faction it shouldn't matter because you are still fighting for them.

Hm, so if I'm correct what "Break Contract" really does is make you pay to shorten your contract up to 2 days left, then you have to wait, still on the old contract, for those 2 days to expire before you can sign a new one.

No problems with that, perhaps that should be highlighted in the UI (unless it already is and I really didn't pay attention lol).

I broke my 28 day contract, you took my cbils and then I had to wait 2 days. THEN my contracted was restarted with 23 days remaining?!? I broke it AGAIN and now I have to wait another 2 days. Not to mention I had my cbills taken AGAIN

Suggestion: Think before you act...

Oh and while your at it, realize you are the reason these restrictions are in place: To stop people from jumping ship.... (excluding the bugged faction switch person, yours is a support ticket issue)

My personal opinion:Aside from Mercs/Loyalists, I don't think you should have contracts at all. Like other games with Community Warfare, you should be restricted to the group you initially choose. If you don't like it get another account or work to make that faction better... Maybe offer a MC cost to change to really make people think about supporting THEIR faction.

The guy wants a single change and he is the reason why? Lets be serious here.

Every person should get one free swap, than incur the penalty. A LOT of new players have no IDEA of the lineage or history of any of the factions. It isn't until they become involved that they learn who and what they want to involve themselves in.

I have no problem with locking people to a particular faction, but at least give them the chance to get a feel for it.

Remember, this is BETA, not the real thing yet.

I wouldnt know, dont have a unit to drop with and wont do it solo. and I cant join one as my contract is running apparently. I want to create one but my buddies are under contracts too so they cannot swap at all either.

I'm seriously pissed off at this.

If they would have announced this before they launced CW I would have set this up beforehand.
