Probably to release the 4096x4096 texture packs for the mechs. Heck, even increasing them to 2048x2048 would be a huge increase in the amount of memory the client will use, but make a dramatic improvement in the visual quality.

Yes freaking please! Let's get HD mech textures out here asap. My 12GB RAM is ready.

1) When starting the game with the " -nopatch" argument, the client will run in 32-bit mode?

2) Is this a setting which is stored and accessible inside one of the local config files?

thx, but thats not correct, Sir.

CW is in Beta, not finally released
Balance is still a work in progress (but it has become better, yes)
UI 2.0 ....is still a clicky clunky smurfy-free Beta-like release
DX11.....is implemented but they use little of its potential

but overall it has become better

It's hilarious reading the posts from folks who are ecstatic about this, while obviously having really no idea what it even means.

"OH MAN, TWICE AS MANY BITS! THAT'S LIKE, 32 AS MANY BITS OF ROBOTS!"

You obviously dont fully understand how much better 64bit stuff is over 32....its much more then double the bits.

Good job PGI, haters gonna hate.

Someone edit the OP plz.

In the DX end user download there is a check box in the "accept the terms" window. IT IS TO INSTALL BING TOOLBAR.

I hate to think someone might whip through there and get inflicted with Bing. I automatically distrust any download from anywhere, so I saw it. however, as usual, it is easily missed by design.

Just a heads up, but it won't do people any good on page 5 or 6 or whatever of this thread. It needs to have a mention in the OP.

Nice option PGI. gonna try it out. lets find the bugs people..!

However, i think people are a little over-hyped on this. I don't think it's going to make much difference in performance (unless the devs revised the code to utilize possible X64 optimizations).

64bit apps will allow you to address more memory than 32 bit (2GB i think).

so better textures maybe... but performance... um..yeah..!

I'm not seeing this option in the launcher when I click that "gear" settings button. I still only see the previous 3 options for Set Temp Dir, Auto Patch, and Repair Tool.

Ah I just noticed the patch delay thread..

Why do we need to install the DirectX End User Runtime crap, especially if we're using DX11? Essentially it's just a ton of old DX9 stuff, some of it dating back to 2005. The installer was last updated in 2011 and it doesn't even list support for Windows 8. I don't understand why I would want to install a bunch of old DX9 components, some dating back as much as 9 years?!
