Still having crazy lag spikes since the Time Warner "fix", otherwise the game is great.

PGI... I would kiss you right now, if I could. Switching to 64-bit got me a not-insignificant boost in FPS, which has been a big complaint of mine since... Well... Basically since I started playing. Oddly enough, switching to DX9 while running 64-bit got me a bit more FPS (I was running DX11 previously because I was getting better performance than DX9).

I'm now getting ~20-40 FPS in combat (depending on what exactly is going on, frequently on the higher end of that. Missile impacts on the cockpit seem to be the worst), 60-120 outside of combat. Big improvement over the 15 or less I was previously getting in combat.

So... Huge THANK YOU! from me. It's much appreciated.

It's funny how I never realized that this was a 32bit application. All this time I thought I was using all of my 32 GB of ram. Can't wait to try it out.

Still waiting for the game to stop requiring admin privileges to run. Been waiting since beta.

The 64 bit client is crashing on my machine = some BS related to a perfectly installed DirectX file

But the 32 bit client is now running smoothly with DX11

and the hit reg issue has greatly improved.... Light mechs beware -

Like Teamspeak needs them as well?

There is a trick in Windows that does away with that privilege thing for all of your programs - I don't remember exactly how - but it is in the advanced settings of the privileges (control panel) somewhere.

I did that for all programs on my machine and privileges are no longer an issue in my life - thank god.

That smells like disabling UAC. I would NOT recommend doing that if you don't know what you are doing. I disable it on my desktop, but it puts my computer at greater risk of problems...

I'm experiencing a marked improvement in performance for my set up. It seems to have a greater effect on those with a lot of RAM but lesser emphasis on CPU. I noted 20-50% increase in FPS in Invasion, and approximately 10-25% in other modes.

is XP x64 not supported? I get the loading mechlab screen for a about 5 seconds before the program terminates. Yes the C++ and DX 9c are installed (or newer versions)

Great - another topic to work on...

Probably it would be better to concetrate on CW the next months.

I'm pretty sure I did not disable user access control - but rather gave myself full admin control over the system as the default settings - something like that. The UAC is still there - installing software still asks for permission to run - but now I no longer have to "launch program as administrator":... or assign special permissions to a specific program, etc.

Yeah, I probably am at greater risk as a result -

But - I just couldn't take it anymore....

Question for someone who hasn't tried it yet, can you have both 32bit and 64bit installed (without copy/pasting MWO files) at the same time, or does the launcher only allow one?

You can switch which binary you run from the launcher gear icon in the top right.
