Harmony Gold is also the reason why we'll never see any of the other Macross series in the United States.

Why is that? They only own the rights to the origional Macross produced in the 80s, unless they bought all the rights to every series and then just refuse to show them (*** you spend money, then don't profit? ;) ). Couple years ago I remember seeing a few...pirated :D ...episodes of a more recent macross series but never saw more then a handful. Currently Hulu has has a couple series of Robotech (that I don't recall ever seeing) not just the first one...but I kind of cringe cause Japanese series like that tend to be very long and well....the Dragonball series was asinine long ;)

I recall the Battlemaster being in Mechwarrior 2. Did Activision pay to use the ip or something?

Hope the will find a way to include the Unseen in some way. Maybe a re-design like Project:Phoenix for CBT ? Some of the new mechs are great, some are ... they need time to get used to ;)

Yeah it was in MW2 - It was once that game became popular that HG decided to start sueing and why none of the UnSeens showed up in later MW games. (or, until the MW5 trailer showed that sweet *** WarHammer and caught a Cease-and-desist from HG)

Makes me wonder, why Harmony Gold is still in business. Were they approached by Inifinite game publishing and Pirhana Games? If so, do they realize that they lost out on this revenue with MWO. This is one of the games that has brought on the ressurection of Battletech. Anyone on their board asking *** were we thinking and why are we not involved? They are also in real estate, besides robotech and other movies and titles.http://www.harmonygoldproperties.com/

HG are just copyright trolls now. They dont care if they are stepping on Battletech or Macross' toes, they just want their royalty checks or, failing that, settlement checks.

The sooner they go tango-uniform, the better.

For instance, I'm pretty sure there's no such thing as a Battlemaster IIC. Someone made an unofficial one and uploaded it on MegaMek.

You are somewhat correct, the BLR-2C is a Star League command variant of the standard Battlemaster. It just happened to be smack in the way of the standard clan modifications naming conventions, oopsie.

The actual II C variant is called the "C" (source sarna.net) also there is the Red Corsair version, that I prefer, that also could be considered the II C version.
BattleMaster C This variant was designed by Clan Jade Falcon scientists following the capture of Red Devil Industries during the FedCom Civil War. This 'Mech was built on an Endo Steel chassis that was protected by sixteen and a half tons of armor. Based on the 4S, the Clan-tech variant replaced the Gauss Rifle with a Hyper-Assault Gauss Rifle 30 and four tons of ammunition. All the medium lasers were front facing, four Medium Pulse Lasers and two ER Medium Lasers. All of these weapons were guided by a Targeting Computer. The short-range missile launcher was replaced with an ATM 6 and three tons of ammunition to ensure the ability to make use of the flexibility offered by the Advanced Tactical Missile System.

looks impractical with that huge glass bubble canopy. double improbable.

It was designed as a command mech, and originally(star league variants) had a 2nd cockpit for a senior commander to sit in, hence the huge head. Large vision radius promoted good battlefield control, was more important then absolute protection when you weren't supposed to get close up to begin with. Stand back and shoot the PPC forever, or if something gets close annihilate it with everything you've got and go back to sniping.

They could probably get away with adding all of the unseen mechs. Because they wouldn't be unseen then, apparently the majority of people here cant get it through their thick skulls that PGI has their own artists. So it wouldn't look like the Unseen, or Reseen/Project Phoenix garbage.

If you haven't noticed the PGI designs look different from their originals, for example, the Original Centurion looks like garbage compared to PGI's Centurion.

So imagine what they can make the Battlemaster look like.

Just redo the art/models, add them in and be done with it. HG rears its ugly head it can be fought as long as there are significant differences!

Alot of it has to do with international copy right laws. In Japan, HG has been ***** slapped down because all they have is the international distrabution rights. But the US courts are retarded and has upheld them as the first owners of the material since they 'showed it first'. 20 years later, now that things have become clearer, specially due to the internet, such a ruling might get over-ruled if pushed. /ALOT/ of confusion, poor communication, and international copyright laws, along with some people being pig headed stubborn has resulted in this mess. Heck, one has to hope Sarna and Wiki have the facts straight...

I will note this... PGI has never said "No, we are not doing the Unseen." If they can't do the mechs, come out and say so. There is nothing to gain by teasing it really, as all of these posts would still exist (wish-listing and what if-ing). I for one honestly believe that FD will re-do the Unseen and they will be released at launch or shortly after. This is my personal opinion, nothing more.

I have always, and will always love the Battlemaster. That said though, I'd just as happily take a Zeus (which I consider to be its younger brother).

Doubtful...

Beside, the big 'glass' head is like a big bullseye painted on it...
Stylish though...

Theres some hesitation to engage Harmony Gold even by using the re-seen. The previous game, Mechwarrior 5, was under development and basically using a re-seen Warhammer, and Harmony Gold sued anyway, claiming in part that ANY piloted giant robot with energy cannons for lower arms was a violation of their intellectual property.

Given such an attitude for aggressive lawyering, it looks like PG is steering clear of the whole issue, and rightly so. I want this game to come out, dang it, not be hit with a cease and desist order by some greedy unemployed real estate wonks from California. Dang it.

Umm wouldn't that mean quite a bit of sueing of many other games, TV shows, and movies?

That wouldn't fly imo.

Forget the Battlemaster, I want an Archer!
