I believe he chose those 4 mechs because of the weight (95 tons). Not that I care for that (I would rather have more 40 tonners in the game).

Oh yes please. I really want my Vulcan and Assassin in most. Phoenix Hawk after (45s need love too) Even the Sentinel.

Odanan is correct. I was looking at possible 95 tonners because the Banshee is the only IS 95 tonner.

I'd love to get the Gunslinger as well. The only real downside to it is it's tiny engine. You'd be quite vulnerable to faster teams. The Cerberus would have no such issue as it comes with an xl 380.

It seems like the Nightstar & Cerberus are the top two for 95 tonners from the tidbits I've gleaned.

Aaagh! Now I can't unsee that! I'll always see a boat there when I look at a Gunslinger now! :D

Yeah, but no JJs or ECM, and the torso lasers are a lot lower. With speed tweak and Max engine it should be able to do 63-65 kph, plenty for an 85 ton non laser vomit

The Gunslinger is actually a transformer. It's disguise is a yacht.

Fair enough, neither mech is perfect.

You know what's a cool thing about the Cerberus? It's arm ballistics are mounted on top of the arms. So it'd look like it's actually holding a gun.

Much of the BT artwork for the Atlas is set up the same way (e.g. with the arm-mounted weapons being on the "top" side of the forearm), and we saw how that turned out (the MWO Atlas having the weapon mounts moved to the outside-side of the forearm)...

Looks like the Green Gobblin from that first spiderman movie with Tobey McGuire. I'm half expecting William Dafoe to creepily pop out of it.

Let's talk about 40 tonners. This isn't necessarily about your first choice for next IS medium, just which 40 tonner is best. Similar to the 95 tonner discussion (which broke down because ppl thought they were choosing a first pick for next IS assault)

40 tonners:
#1 The Assassin, missile boat with some lasers. This one is my preferred 40 tonner. http://www.sarna.net/wiki/Assassin

#2 The Clint, ballistics & lasers, JJ. Decent engine cap for it's weight. Would probably be a 40 ton panther 10P. http://www.sarna.net/wiki/Clint

#3 Hermes II, same as Clint, no JJ but bigger engine. http://www.sarna.net/wiki/Hermes_II

#4 The Sentinel, mixed loadtout, no JJ. http://www.sarna.net/wiki/Sentinel

#5 The Vulcan, Ballistic & energy, JJ, good engine cap. http://www.sarna.net...can_(BattleMech)

#6 The Whitworth, missile & lasers, smaller engine, JJ. http://www.sarna.net/wiki/Whitworth

Which of these 6 would be the best addition to MWO? As I stated I like the Assassin the best.

While I naturally want the Vulcan in part because of my redesign, I also admit, in part, it's number 2 because I doubt my design is even close to what Alex will make, which while undoubtedly cool, will just not hit me in the feels as well.

The Assassin is number 1, because of MW2Mercs nostalgia, great speed and jump ability, and likelihood of decent hardpoint inflation, of being at least 2/2/2 with each weapon system (Arm and each ST).

I'm inclined towards the Assassin, due to versatility.

Put me down as a supporter for Bishop's Assassin (that could be taken way out of context).

Also, two pages back, I would also support the Legionnaire, even though I doubt we'll advance that far.
