  • Spector = hmmm nothing really new... I would prefer if they just released the Firestarter S1.
  • Hermes = important Marik mech, but boring variants (in terms of weapons). The good side is: ECM and/or MASC variants.
  • Hussar = the mech has many variants with weapons only in the center torso. If you think Spider 5V is bad, imagine a Spider 5V without jumpjets.
  • Javelin = cool 30 tonner that would bring something new to the light weight.
  • Valkyrie = it's an Unseen, so it's a must. Unfortunately, it is the least interesting of the Macross Unseen mechs. (not counting the former-Unseen Ost-mechs)
  • Dart = really boring.
  • Jackrabbit = yeah, it's bad.
  • Mongoose = interesting looks, packs a punch. But I think the Wolfhound got it covered.
  • Raptor = now that would be a great addition. A sure bet for the first IS omnimech pack.
But you forgot most currently the important, iconic IS light mechs: Wasp and Stinger. Wasp will surely be the next IS light mech.

I didn't focus on the Wasp & Stinger would more than cover anything the Locust doesn't.

I was counting on the Hussar getting decent hard point inflation for it to shine. Same deal with the Valkyrie. It could have 3E 2M, 2E 3M, etc. Basically, I was assuming they'd all have at least 5 hard points.

You can't put 5 hardpoints on the CT of the Hussar.

Yes, 3 of the 4 possible Hussar variants have only a Large Laser (or ER Large Laser) on the Center Torso.

Can we forget this mech now?

Ghost hardpoints?
Just add a few side-torso ones, because why not? We're already breaking TT builds to the limit anyway.
(I'd suggest doing the same to the Spider-5V)

I was advocating that for the poor Spider even before its release. See how things turned out... :/

Serious, Whitworth might be the 40 tonner I find less interesting for MWO.
Not a bad mech in TT (it really worth's it's 40 tons), but all two variants would be very much the same.

You'd have the -1S with SRM quirks, the -1 with mixed LRM/ML quirks, and the likely heavily generic missile-quirked -2, since it'd have a whopping one energy hardpoint.

A couple 20 tonners,

Wasp, energy & missile, energy only variants, JJ, 120std. http://www.sarna.net/wiki/Wasp

Mercury. Energy based, std 160, masc.
http://www.sarna.net/wiki/Mercury

I think the Javelin is the best option for something good but original. I like the idea of the Hussar but it'd need extra hard point locations.

Indeed. And about the Javelin: there is an ECM variant in 1 year (3054). ;)

Here is the variant's breakdown:

JVN-10N (up to 6 jumpjets)

RT 1m [inflated to 3m, larger missile tubes]
LT 1m [inflated to 3m, larger missile tubes]

JVN-10F (up to 6 jumpjets)

RT 2e [inflated to 3e]
LT 2e [inflated to 3e]

JVN-10P (up to 6 jumpjets)

RT 1m [inflated to 3m, smaller missile tubes]
LT 2m [inflated to 4m, smaller missile tubes]

JVN-11A (up to 6 jumpjets)

RA 3e
RT 2e
LT 2e

JVN-11B (no jumpjets, ECM)

RT 1m [inflated to 3m, larger missile tubes]
LT 1m [inflated to 3m, larger missile tubes]

Now for some Javelin art.

I think the Javelin could not only be an original & effective addition but a good looking one as well. Let's just avoid massive legs.

I'm looking forward to the Whammy but I kinda wish I'd gotten the Marauder.

On a different note, I was looking at light mechs. We have several 35 tonners but there isn't anything interesting to add to MWO, IMO.

There's just the Spector. 245 xl, JJ, energy boat, ecm. It'd basically be an ecm equipped Firestarter.
http://www.sarna.net/wiki/Spector

Spector and Talon arent so bad IMO I would love to play them here..

I hope that at least the archer makes it to be added to MWO

And I am also keen in some "ooold" Assaults like the Pillager, Cerberus or the Thunderhawk.

But the far most I would love to get melee weapons added and mechs with those like the Axeman, Berserker or the Hatchetman - there a re way too few 45 tonners anyways...

NOT unseen light mech list I wouldn't mind seeing:

Mercury
Thorn
Flea --This one was already promised! Russ may say it's dead to HIM, but it's not dead to US!
Javelin

I'm sure there are others too but this was meant to be a short list.

Wow, these are nice concepts for the Javelin! Specially considering the original TRO art looks like a fat baby on diapers cupid.

Bishop Steiner's is particularly tasty.

I'd like to see Alex do the Javelin based off the 2nd picture & Bishop's art. I like the first pic but I almost didn't recognize it as a Javelin.

Of the three, I like the first one as well, but I have to agree, a little too organic/rounded. It does look less like a man in a fat suit and much leaner and meaner.

I would like to see something done of that one, especially with the pronounced CT, but make the rest of it a little more robotic/blocky. In the TRO art, there almost isn't a CT as the missile racks on both sides pretty much meet in the middle. Divide it up a little more, perhaps turn the missile racks 90° so that it's three tall and two wide and then make the rest of it less curvy.

Cool! And... some more 2 weeks for the Archer announcement?

BTW, Steam release, December 10. Origins IIC, December 15. Star Wars Episode VII, December 17. Who needs Christmas?
