The medium weight is not badly represented.

IS has
8 light mechs,
11 medium mechs,
9 heavy mechs (12 counting Warhammer, Rifleman and Archer), and
9 assault mechs.

But yes, it's been a long time there is no new IS medium mech. Don´t worry, the Phoenix Hawk it's almost here (but considering the later Russ' tweets, it will be after the Clan Wave IV).

Reminds me... I need to rebuild my stuff from when I lost my HDD....

shame my old dual AC10 model form MW3 will only be about half as effective in MWO....

Phoenix Hawk is great and all, but it is time for the IS to get a nice ballistic mounting/chicken-walker/aircraft torso medium mech. It has enough humanoid mediums right now. The Phoenix Hawk can come after :).

P.S. We have the Crab (although I'm not sure what to consider those funky legs as).

Well... If they wanna give us a Phoenix Hawk LAM in AirMech mode then I'm okay With that. There. You have Your Aircraft torso mech. Okay, it doesn't have chickenlegs, but... :D

That'd be the Bushwacker then. Both that and the Phoenix Hawk look like very good mediums. but i know people on here are dying to get their hands on the Phoenix Hawk.

Sadly the Bushwhacker would be mediocre at best in MWO.

Perhaps we should be thinking about light mechs, they're the least represented.

Aside from the unseen, the Javelin and Hussar (with inflation/buffs) look like they'd be solid.

Like it or not, with quirks, anything can be good. Just depends how it would be treated by PGI.

Yea, a lot of "iconic" mechs to some of the younger or rather newer introduced to MechWarrior pilots, is that a lot of the time their iconic mechs would either be average or worse in MWO. I got lucky, in that two iconic mechs for me, translated well, and a few others have not. The verdict is still out on the Warhammer, I hope she is graced with good hit boxes... Either way I'll still be using it.

Wasp is certain, but will PGI also release the Stinger and the Valkyrie? If yes, the light weight will be well represented.

PS: Hussar is bad.

PPS: Valkyrie can replace the Javelin.

Everything can change with a 20+% quirk...
Now I wish the Trebuchets got some love - it must be a year or more I don´t see one in the field.

If the Hussar got a little HP inflation it'd be a good mech. Giving it 2-3 more HP would even be enough.

The Javelin would be slightly better than the Valkyrie because it'd be able to use a bigger engine, it comes with a 180 versus the Val's 150.

Only if the mech's single weapon wasn´t in the CT.

Folks said the same thing about the Shadowhawk once.

The crab does well for what it is, the problem a lot of folks have with it is it is VERY boring to skill up since all the variants are basically copy/paste.

Quirks can't fix bad geometry.... Look at the Awesome, TT a Death dealing monster, here its a walking barn door, I love mine by the way.... The Firestarter in TT is kind of meh, here it's nearly broken due to lag sheilds, and questionable hit boxes as well as questionable hit registration....

It CAN fix bad geometry in some cases. With the Catapult, all the structure buff to the CT helped a ton. However, then PGI tried to fix the hitboxes and now we have a Catapult I'm trying to equip with STD engines because the STs now melt like the CT used to (Before any hitbox or structure quirks).

It's weird how the Catapult went from TOO XL friendly to a XL deathtrap.

Who knows, maybe it's in my head and I have just spent too much time in a face-tanker mech like the Marauder. Still, I swear those side torsos on the Catapult are now made of warm butter.
