I love how many of the people asking for clan mechs don't even seem to know the clan names. It's really reassuring that should the clans be available to players rather than bot driven that they're going to they're going to be piloted by so many 'dedicated clanners' who will stick to all that Zellbrigen crap that made them such sitting ducks at Tukayyid, rather than just turned into instant munchkin boats.

I played more MW2 than many people here played all MW titles combined. I know the clan names and most omni variants by heart. I can even imitate that chick in MW2 or the guy in GBL, if you want. I just used the IS names for convenience (we are all IS here for now, right?).

One good marketing play for PGI is to make the clan factions and mechs "premium" only. Wanna be a clanner? Pay. But they can't force a clanner to fight honorably.

Of course, if the clan mechs are much more expensive, that will also help balance.

I'm going to say it'll be a light this time, and I think it's going to be the panther. Perhaps the wolfhound, but I think the panthers JJ give it the edge.

I could bet with you it won't be a Panther. Check the Panther variants.

Soon!

Clan mechs will be announced either in August/September of this year (Periphery strike) or, most likely, in March/April of 2013 (proper IS invasion).

Ah I wasnt aware this game took place before the Clan invasions

There a story summary for the game anywhere?

You keep pointing to lack of variants as a reason why specific mechs won't make it into the game, yet you seem strangely silent whenever I refer you back to the Jagermech. Two. Count 'em. Two variants. One of them just in production in limited facilities. Already in the game.

I find it highly unlikely that the firestarter will be chosen at this juncture. It would be a lot of development effort for something that isn't all that popular.

I think the next light mech will probably be the wolfhound or one of the unseen.

It is popular and it is a very good chassis to add to the game. There is a wide range of early and late variations. Not to mention it would be nice to have a flamer boat.

A Unseen? How did you reached that conclusion?

Somewhere in Sarna.net. Or do you mean the story of the MWO?

An energy based heavy to go along with the newly introduced autocannon heavy Jagermech. Black Knight or Flashman?

It depends on whether the next mech announced is a light or an assault. If its an assault then the next announcement will close to the last reset of the game. If they are going to bring in any unseen then right before the last reset to really get the crowds going would be a masterful stroke. Lets not forget that the licensing to the Locust is not part of the Macross series, and therefor is not one of the hotly contested images. The Locust is also the Archtypical light mech.

If the next is a light then it will probably be the Wolfhound.

The JM6-S in the JagerMech Prime and the JM6-DG was introduced in 3054. As previously noted, the JM6-DD was only just introduced in 3049.

It was a pretty great mech. Definitely one of the more realistic looking humanoid mechs too.

Unless i am terribly mistaken, the Bushwacker is an IS Med mech, Why not add that to the game, its one of the most iconic mechs right behind the Atlas

Problem is that the Bushwacker is from 3053 so is probably not in the game at start as we are in 3049 currently.

Wouldn't it be nice if people stopped suggesting the unseen 'mechs until some announcement from PG regarding the licensing issues, or 'mechs/variants that don't exist at this time/date in the BT canon?

So, 3 variants now and one in 5 years. That's enough for me.

As people would pay money for these mechs, if PGI ever add them, they could add the reseen as "premium" mechs later.
