Whatever it is, I bet it would be terrible, look like a scarecrow, and carry both machine guns and flamers.

The Coyotl is not nostalgic. In real world terms, it's newer than most mechs.

PGI might as well start making up mechs to fill roles if they're going to put the Coyotl in. It's pretty much the same thing.

Not sure I follow the reasoning here.

Coyotl is a canon full spec'd mech. Not sure how it's akin to "making stuff up".

Really? OK.

It is the next clan mech I'd like to see, but can't say I've been particularly campaigning it. I might have what...a dozen total posts about it?

I wish the FWL had a decent Heavy mech because the Orion literally sucks in game and I like to keep my mech collections themed. For example I was going to get the Phoenix Hawk but then noticed the Hermes II is quite specifically a FWL mech and I already have the Hunchbacks and Wolverines that the FWL has a lot of as well. I currently run a Raven or Urbie for light but those graphs previously imply the FWL has no Ravens despite me reading they got a load from Liao. I have the Stalker for my Assault and I did have the Awesome but had to sell it.

Yeah I suggested that one a while ago when we got Kurita, Davion and Steiner packs I figured we could get a Marik one with the Hammer and Anvil and Hermes II.

Okay, so in that scenario with the KGC, they're limited, they're in the TRO for someone, and PGI added what might be categorized as either a ComGuard-only or a mothball variant. The KTO's in a similar boat, only far less widespread.

If you can show Coyotl on a TRO somewhere, I think the case gets a lot stronger. KTO and KGC might be willing to host the welcome-to-the-club BBQ. Posted Image

Without it, the case for the entire chassis rests on PGI's limited precedent of adding a secret-stash 3rd variant on other chassis.

The way I see it, they're more likely to fudge necessary added variants where it's needed, and they've done so on multiple occasions now. I'm not convinced they'd fudge the entire chassis.

If the community wants it, I think it's going to take seriously heavy geek-tastic search work to dig up an active Coyotl from somewhere, even if it's only one variant (or one mech!).

I'm not sure the comunity can make a strong enough case if the entire chassis is mothballed or worse.

I'm game if we can dig it up though. It can't be worse than some of the mechs we've already got performance-wise, and I'll happily accommodate nostalgia Posted Image

It's not even just "being in a TRO", there is also an element of "was it even in production and/or in use" in the appropriate era.

Even those 'Mechs currently in MWO that some trot out as "ComStar 'Mechs" were in some level of production (including the factories being used as repair and refit facilities) and use even prior to the Clan Invasion.
  • "While the Crab assembly line was damaged heavily during the early Succession Wars, technicians were able to keep the lines active as a refit and repair facility, using the parts manufactured by the remainder of the plant to rebuild many of the crippled machines." - TRO 3039, pg. 258, regarding the Crab
  • "Attrition contributed to the near extinction of the Kintaro before the Third Succession War, but General Dynamics able to rebuild a factory on Ozawa to produce the design" - TRO 3039, pg. 260, regarding the Kintaro
  • "Hollis continued to custom-build the 733 models until the Fourth Succession War, when its license was revoked. With the capture of the Corey production line and the discovery of the Helm Memory Core, StarCorps was able to begin producing 733 refits on Sun Hoa by the mid 3030s." - TRO 3039, pg. 276, regarding the Highlander
  • "Cosara's main factory on Northwind was destroyed early in the first Succession War and the Cosara-Mars facility was repaired and mothballed on the orders of Jerome Blake. In the early 31st century the company was charged with redeveloping the design in order to reinforce ComStar's secret stockpile, which was suffering some minor attrition due to centuries of storage." - TRO 3039, pg. 278, regarding the King Crab

However, for other 'Mechs (like the Nightstar), the absolute best that could be supported by BT is that there might, maybe, possibly be a couple sitting in the basement of some long-forgotten, long-lost Castle Brian.

Yes... but is it IS or Clan?
If IS, is it another Macross Unseen? (and which?)
If Clan, is it another totem mech? (and which?)

If its a Macross unseen I'd be thinking Crusader, as russ seemed to be down on the wasp/stinger, not sure why as most of the assests would be down scaled Phoenix Hawk

Orion V and Orion VA are some of the best heavies in the game.

Wasp and Stinger are widely used by the FWL.

For what I got in the Twitter and Town Halls, the next pack won't be a standalone "Classic" (Macross Unseen) mech. Everything points to a Clan Wave 4.

Yup, a wave four release for the Clans... The question becomes what 3053 and prior Omni-mechs will it be?

Lights are looking a might thin for options:

Fire Moth (20t)
Fire Falcon (25t)

Anything else is after the 3053 line for a base model....

Yes.
Fire Moth if PGI fixes the speed limit (or just release it without MASC). Otherwise, Fire Falcon.
