Yeah, the next mech is probably going to be ANOTHER cheap clan knock-off of a IS chassis, in the form of another IIC mech.

Not sure why I want to see it, but I kinda wanna see the Thresher. And the Glass Spider.

Well they could release the Bane & one up the Kodiak.

Do we need to one up the Kodiak?

I mean, the Kodiak was power-creep enough as it is!

The Bane will not be better than the Kodiak, but another clan 100 tonner? Posted Image Posted Image

I want the Bane (specially because of the profile/looks and it's insane boating nature), but I agree the Clans don't need another 100 tons now.

I expect the Rifleman IIC (which is actually a mech needed by the Clans), but my most wanted Clan mech is the Fire Moth.

Unfortunately for you, there are many reasons PGI won't do this.

4. This would entail that a Light mech is part of the package, something PGI seems unwilling to invest time in creating.

actually, a Wave Pack is likely the only way a Light is considered "feasible" anymore, as many people will buy them without blinking in a Wave, to get to the bigger "better" mechs. But without better robots in higher tiers to entice... it's solo that Lights have minimal market viability.

Of course, PGI will probably blame this on listening to people for the Rescale, when in fact, it's the selective hearing and how and what they pick and choose to implement and what they choose to ignore, that tends to bite them in the butt.

Rifleman IIC, most likely!

PS: It looks like the timeline progression is already on. I would not be surprised to see some later designs.

there is no timeline...only Techlines. As long as PGI can keep shoveling out mechpacks of made up gundams without having to create any new content, they will.

One of the surest signs they plan to ride the wave of minimally viable product until the lights go out.

well, pretty obvious HBS sharing ain't a concern anymore, so don't expect any more IS classics any time soon.

Never understood the Mythology swapping going on there... it should be "Unleash the Cetus!!!".. unless Perseus suddenly turns out to be Norse, and that is Odin, not Zeus.....

Thresher (maybe they will give it a more elegant profile than the Summoner?), rifleman IIC, vapour eagle, nova cat, grizzly. About the only Clan Mechs that move my needle any, anymore.

well, 12 AC2 or whatever...isn't that under the 30 dmg threshold for ED? So as long as they don't double tap, should be fine, right? And they cycle fast enough, who needs the double tap?

Wow, community seems rather meh about the Bushwacker sadly, I am not sure if I will pick it up (would be the first IS mech I would ever preorder). Has this community really gotten this toxic in the last month, seems everyone is upset by it or not moved at all? O.o

Been busy and will be busy with WoW Legion for a bit (it's fun, reminds me of the old WoW days again, finally).

I'm afraid this flood of PGI-variants is not making the old school happy.

PGI needs to reinvent themselves. Solaris and specially Singleplayer/Co-Op/PVE are what will save MWO, not yet another iteration/system to achieve perfect balance.

Not so much toxic, more just not very interested in buying another mech pack for a game that hasn't really changed in 3/4 years...

Besides, before Cyclops and Bushwacker, they should have released the other Macross mechs (and before MAD IIC, the Fire Moth).

Yes, very much yes.

Stinger
Wasp
Valkyrie (less so here)
Crusader

those would've been $20 packs for me, but if they had figured out how to do L.A.M's, then it would've been full blow packs for the L.A.M.'s.

You know what?
IF the (S) versions came with Jester'esque, Harlequinn patterns for either of those mechs, i'd actually pick up the Collector's editions (despite how awful the collector's editions are value-wise).

If they did that, I'd maybe do the same thing too, it would actually be unique and fun.

at least Cyclops is a 3025 classic design. And if they weren't desperate for money and cramming "Reinforcements" etc onto every pack now, we wouldn't need all these made up versions.

Maybe if they occasionally vacationed on the Island and heard what the friendly locals thought, and all, we would see enough revenue from Mech Packs to do more than simply fund making the NEXT Mech Pack, ya know?

Biggest take away is we can pretty much officially slap the seal on the HBS Battletech Mech Bundle Sweepstakes at this point.
My brain isn't working this morning, but could you elaborate on what you mean by this? We still have two unknown mechs to be announced for that game as far as I am aware. Now they could be mechs we already have here, but it could also be mechs not yet announced but will be in the near future.

How did you come to this conclusion? You may well be right about no more IS classics any time soon, but I don't see how sharing was ever a concern per se as they are separate games and companies. However, I'm sure on some level without knowing the exact deal between the two companies HBS can make certain requests. Maybe they have made requests maybe they haven't, and maybe there is concept art/models that have been created that have not yet been announced here that can be shared with HBS. For all we know PGI already has work done on the Crusader for example but chose the Bushwacker for the next release here with the Crusader as the next IS announcement.

Hopeful release of Battletech game?

Pretty simply deduction. It's not a 100% given, BUT if HBS/PGI were lookign to add any more shared mechs to the initial Battletech release, one would logically conclude that any remaining IS Mechs added for now, would be 3025 compatible.

There are still quite a few not only requested by MWO players, but that would be potentially solid performers in MWO, also, without requiring scads of made up variants to make happen.

Admittedly, the Lights are probably just out of luck, because of PGI's MechPack/MC/Cbill model totally undermining Light Mech perceived Value.

That said, one could easily see the Assassin, Vulcan, Dervish, Crusader or Charger added as all have enough variants (barely, in some cases, except maybe the Dervish) for a PGI base Mech Pack, and most aside from the Dervish and Vulcan I would say are just as requested as the Bushwhacker. And that is without looking at various 2750 TRO designs that have 3025 extant versions still running around (Sentinel, Wyvern, Champion, Lancelot, Flashman, Thug, Crockett, etc).

The Bushwhacker itself is fine, not exciting to me, but does appeal to at least a portion of the MW3/4 fanbase. But if they were looking to continue to get more mechs under the wire for HBS, it is a poor choice to add NOW, especially since the most probably next will be another Clan Mech as they try to get back to the 1:1 IS/Clan release schedule.

Is there a very very small possibility of one more timeline useful IS Mech appearing, just under the wire? Yes. But highly highly unlikely. Good business planning would be to release any "joint" models first.

concept ar doesn't help with how crabbed the arms "appear" to the torso but also plenty of jsut bad aestehtic choices, both in base design and PGIs tic-tac lego guns

and nod to cartoon or not..the paintjob does nothing to help it.
