For 8xHMG, I would take the Mist Lynx or Arctic Cheetah with the upcoming new omnipods.

I don't think the Mist Lynx is gonna be viable with HMGs; it only has 6 tons of weapon's tonnage available (6.5 tons if it strips some head armor), and the HMGs will take up 4 of those tons, leaving just 2-2.5 tons for ammunition, which is about half the minimum for the HMG.

Right now HMGs in the PTS are doing 0.14 damage per shot, with 1000 shots per ton, for 140 damage per ton of ammo (versus regular MGs at 200 per ton).
Even with both Magazine Capacity skill nodes that only increases by another 200 shots per ton, to 160 damage per ton of ammo.
With the best case of 2.5 tons ammo, that is just 400 damage of ammo.

It can do regular or Light MGs just fine though, as those have a base of 200 damage per ton of ammo and the MGs have half the weight.
It could even toss in a couple lasers.

Eg, 4x ER Small + 8x MG with 2.5 tons of ammo (which is 600 damage with both Magazine Capacity nodes).

Arctic Cheetah is a bit less constrained, as it has 8 tons available if it doesn't use an ECM; it could run 8x HMG with 4 tons of ammo (640 damage with both Magazine Capacity nodes).
Still, I expect to see either 8x regular or light MGs, or 6x HMG + laser builds more often on the ACH.

All of the possible Clan mech variants are on my spreadsheet: https://docs.google....t#gid=928478927

I'm doing finishing up the IS mechs, I've started at 20tons and I'm up into the 70's now.

PS: I think it's most likely PGI to add the Myst Lynx P than the F, because they won't need to review the mechlab rules (to block the possibility of adding 2 ECMs).

PPS: Viper I has no problem because PGI did add Light AP (only the 3068 date might be a problem).

PPPS: some tasty variants out there!! Huntsman and Night Gyr with ECM? Linebacker with jumpjets? PGI, please!!

PPPPS: Javelin is not updated in the sheet (several entries should read "included")

PS: ECM ---- Oh yeah, I didn't think of that. I used to campaign for the MLX-P anyways, before PGI announced 3060-tech (because the MLX-P is a -P variant, and PGI often invents their own -P variants, so I thought it was ironically appropriate to replace micro lasers and stuff with whatever they wanted)

PPS: Viper - yeah, some of the mechs I evaluated before 3060 tech was confirmed. I need to go through and check some of them out for the new tech in the game.

PPPS: ooooooh yeah.

PPPPS: was added to my sheet before it was announced by PGI. =P

BTW, does the link to the document keeps the same even after you edit it? Because I really want to add this to the OP.

Yes, it is constant unless I make a deliberate effort to change it.

I'm not 100% sure if its a mistake but I believe the Warhawk D has different hardpoints according to Mech factory: LA-1m, CT- 1L, RT-2L, RA-1B

While looking at the Warhawk, that mech could really stand to get all the unique variants it can to really help its build variety.

I was trying to recreate some of the Warhawk's civil war variants (had to move certain weapons to arms) and have to say that they really gave the mech new life and NEED to be released some time this year!

I was also testing some of the summoner builds and even though the pods are redundant, it would be nice to have some of those variants with quirks to boost those specific builds.

The Linebacker H would also be a great addition with its jump jets and unique CT with a laser hard point.

Hellbringer H has the insane 1 missile, 4 laser hard points in the LT would finally provide some competition to the ECM LT.

The Nova H, with its 5 Heavy ML in each arm would be a nice release if they gave quirks specific to the Heavy ML, but its not absolutely necessary as running it on the stock prime pods gives you a brutally effective mech as is.

Despite many of the E, D, F, and H variants having redundant pods, I'd still like to see those mechs released with different quirk sets. Even if they are subtle, it would still help extend the sense of customization the skill tree so effectively put in place.

You're totally right, I mucked that one up. Fix'd now. And the Javelin listings. And got almost up to the assaults added.

Russ already confirmed that he they don't give a shjt about timeline anymore, and even one of the Mad Cat Mk II variants that PGI brought in is straight from 3130 Dark Age. =P

keep calm and bring the Atlas III

I clearly can't have enough Atlas Mechs.

Although the Zeus-X would be nice too, not to mention some "real" IS Omni Mechs (switch Bushwacker for Gauntlet)

It's not so much about time lines, as it is about eras... Russ also included a 3060+ Kodiak (Kodiak 3) during the Kodiak release.... As he said back then, so long as the base chassis was available during the era, then any variants with weapons and equipment that are of that era are fare game...

Sadly for me, this means I will likely have to wait for the next time jump to see a Gauntlet (a better Bushwacker).

I love the Gauntlet, the Prime variant with HPPC+Thunderbolt/10 on a chassis with LFE+MASC+Supercharger is just awesome! 55t mech pushing 108km/h.... glorious!

Russ basically said that if the chassis didn't have tech not in the game, any such variant was fair game.

So long as at least 1 variant (tech or no) is in timeline.

Made a list of missing 3025 mechs that all have new versions in the forthcoming timeline. Let PGI know you want them?
Also, which would you be most looking forward to?

And one more question...
Should lights of 20 to 25 tons be 10 dollars on the early release, or would it be better if a 20 and 25 ton mech are both put into a single pack (with the 3 variants for each) for 15 to 20?

The mechs I want the most right now are 20 tonners: Wasp and Fire Moth, followed by two 65 tonners: Crusader and Rifleman IIC. Yep, only classics. ;)

Oh, and two 80 tonners: Charger and Warhammer IIC.

(I could continue listing mechs forever, but these would make MWO "complete" for me)

Hmm, and here I thought this thread would be all aflutter with chatter from the Uziel sneak peak. It looks like its profile is going to share a lot in common with a Stormcrow/Ryoken . . . only a bit smaller. If the CT missile pod goes away when the missiles are removed (like so many newer mechs) then the hitboxes shouldn't be that bad. They won't be amazing, but certainly not bad.
