I see no need of more than 2 NARCs in a team because it's useless to have many enemies NARC'ed at the same time. Also, I would prefer a very fast mech with ECM (and stealth armor?) to use the NARC and get away quickly.

Watching a NARC'd target try and sneak around you through cover is hilarious, though. It's like having your own personal UAV launcher. It kills ECM and leaves anything easily targeted without worrying about LOS.

Not quite wallhax, but it's one of the few "information weapons" the game has. Ah, if only they had remote sensor dispensers...

It's just that that tonnage for the NARCs and ammo goes a long way toward the heat efficiency, speed, and armor of those front-liners.

If you're gonna commit to it, best not to mechlab-nerf too many BKs. Posted Image

Edit: spelling

The build is actually pretty efficient and fast. I has max armor, heat of 1.26 and the xl350 has it at 78 without tweek. The uac10 has good dps although it does drop a touch of firepower as otherwise it'd have an ac20 or uac20. The idea is that is compensated for by having lrm support

This notion that you can't XL in a IS mech is strange to me. I do it all the time and I'm pretty successful

Good for you!

After the release of the Light Engines, I see no point in equipping XL in IS mechs of 50+ tons.

It depends on the mech and the role.
STD, LFE and XL all have pros and cons, and it really does want to be taken on a mech-by-mech basis.

I wasn't directing that at you per se it's just something I've seen posted here and there on the forums. You can run the Narc knight with a lfe325 as well if that's your preference.

So, let me activate my precognition powers and guess the next 7 (!) mechs:
  • October: Piranha
  • November: Black Lanner
  • December: Fafnir
  • January: Argus
  • February: Blood Asp
  • March: Rifleman IIC
  • April: Chimera
What do I get if I nail all of them?

There are some mechs you can run XL (like your Black Knight with superior hitboxes), and there are some you can't run XL, and there are some you can't run XL but you are forced to run XL.

The latter category ones tend to be regarded as really bad mechs.

6 days.

I confess this 1 mech/month ratio at least makes the waiting for news more bearable.

It does, but with so few palpable updates, it doesn't leave much for us to discuss in terms of mech adjustments or how new mechs will factor in. It is nice that they are focusing on major fixes though.

And it puts a lot less pressure on them to do things like, idk... design the mechs in such a way where they aren't misproportioned by a lot or have wonky animations. Not naming names or anything *cough cough* Uziel *cough*

Speaking of animations, it may be time for the community to have the Dire Wolf walk animation addressed
