While true, a lot of the ground work required for it is going to be completed thanks to MW5;M, this is evident by the fact that MW5;M is looking to have up to 4 player co-op, this means that net code will be baked into it. Now if they go that route and make a competitive PvP version of MW5;M, than I would think sticking to teams of 4-8 would be best, rather than the gong show of 12v12 that we get here.

Now don't get me wrong, I'm not saying it wouldn't be a lot of work on PGI's part, rather I am saying that some of the ground work for a re-worked MWO in Unreal is being done by MW5:M.

Also while a lot of work up front, having both games on the same engine I would imagine would make porting assets between the two a LOT smoother and simpler from that point forward. I also know Russ has said he WANTS to do it... but let's be realistic about resource cost... ATM that would be a pretty big undertaking, when MW5 itself appears to be a all hands on deck Hero Task. After MW5 launches? Then depending on their financial status, I would imagine would be the soonest they could really consider doing it at this point.

Due to that warpage on the arms, might I suggest snagging some thin copper tubing and replacing the arm barrels entirely? Should be a cheap mod, but increase the quality a bit. The rest of the model looks great, though!

Thanks. The warped arms were fixed since I last took this picture. All that I did was take two hard cover books and compressed them for a few minutes. It straightened itself out and the barrels are evenly aligned now (there is still some minor warping with the over\under setup but it's hardly noticeable). Here's an updated pic with the base board and the Jade Falcon Rifleman IIC that I snagged off of Ebay for scale.

And just look at the head hitbox.. Bruh... steering wheel much?
(of course, there is the cluster of 3-4 lasers around the cockpit in the STs that you might be overlooking...)

I know it's the IS turn for a mech now, but seeing has how certain tonnage mechs can repeat, I think the clans really need their medium mech selection filled out. Compared to the IS, we don't really have as many options and it would be nice to get more for FP.

Clan mediums? You got a pretty good selection already.
I don't know if there is a role to be filled, but the next Clan medium mechs will be in this list:
  • Vapor Eagle - 55 tons, battlemech. Metamech.
  • Hellhound - 50 tons, battlemech. Hopefully released as the sexy MW4's Hellhound, not as the boring humanoid Conjurer (Wolverine IIC).
  • Mongrel - 45 tons, omnimech.
  • Shadow Hawk IIC - 45 tons, battlemech.
  • Griffin IIC - 40 tons, battlemech.
  • Coyotl - 40 tons, omnimech. Rare, almost extinct, but quite unique looking and interesting platform.
  • Pouncer - 40 tons, omnimech. Another deviation of the Adder.
  • Phantom - 40 tons, omnimech. Extremely fast and with good hardpoints, but with very few weight free for weapons.

Honestly, what we need next, are:
some IS and Clan 20T mechs,
some IS and Clan 25T mechs,
a Clan 60T mech,
a Clan 80T mech,
some IS and Clan 95T mechs.

I'm really leaning toward the 40 ton mechs, 45 if they want something a bit beefier. Being a huge fan of the 75-85 ton clan mechs allows me to squeeze in mediums, sometimes 2 and I haven't felt like I have had the right tool lately in FP matches. It may just be complacency, but I don't get the same feeling when I look at the variety of IS mediums when playing FP.

Though I'm not a big fan of the IIC mechs in your list, I am curious to see how they would be redesigned for MWO. Converting that Gundam look to BT leaves a lot of room for interpretation.

The two omni mechs at the bottom are by far my favorite options. Phantom would be an upgrade to the ice ferret in terms of speed and hard points with the same restrictions in weight, but it would be an incredible hit and run mech. The Pouncer would be the jumping Adder I always dreamed of.

Not too fussed on the 20 tonners. As for the rest:
25 ton Clan - Fire Falcon
60 ton Clan - Hellfire
80 ton Clan - Canis or Warhammer IIC
95 ton Clan - Turkina (the only option Posted Image )
25 ton IS - Raptor
95 ton IS - Sagittaire or Cerberus

See, if PGI invented a 95-tonner, I would actually be fairly happy. 70-tons is not an extremely heavily populated tonnage spot, but we already had two options, there. Meanwhile, 95 is stuck with the Jade Turkey and nothing else. Not much good to choose from, there.

Also, I'd only change out that Hellfire for a Thresher, personally. Otherwise, the Clan list you have there is about the same as mine. It isn't that the Hellfire is a bad mech. It isn't, and should be good. But so should the Thresher, and that sucker offers interesting build options, between MASC (something we have very little of in MWO) and jump jets.

20t: IS: Wasp, Clan: Fire Moth (highly unlikely)
25t: IS: Brigand, Clan: Icestorm (highly unlikely)
60t Clan: there's just the Glass Spider currently available and I would prefer the Rifleman IIC
80t Clan: Warhammer IIC
95t: IS: Hauptmann/Sagittaire, Clan: Turkina (meh)

OK, here I go: (as if you guys didn't know my favorites at this point...)
  • 20t: IS: Wasp (the most essential mech not in MWO yet). Clan: Fire Moth (the most essential Clan mech not in MWO)
  • 25t: IS: Raptor (and at least 1 good IS omnimech of each weight class). Clan: Fire Falcon (it's cute, it's good)
  • 60t Clan: Hellfire (same seven inch leather heels of the Lupus and looks as menacing as Gene Simmons spitting blood)
  • 80t Clan: Warhammer IIC
  • 95t: IS: Sagittaire (fracking scary). Clan: Turkina (I always liked this mech)
Dang. That's a sexy list.

EDIT: 40t and 85t bonuses:
  • 40t: IS: Vulcan. Clan: Coyotl (or Phantom)
  • 85t: IS: Crockett+Katana (or Gunslinger, or Longbow). Clan: Blood Kite (because the Savage Coyote is too slow and I want to see how Alex Iglesias would save this monstrosity)
