Lastly, conflating Capellan with a mech from St. Ives is a common mistake. Different states with different rulers. Fast forward 13 years and you would be correct. 3050? Not so much. So the BJ-3 is deployed by the St. Ives Compact, and the AFFS units that defend it. Not Capellan units. As a matter of fact, no Capellan units would have it in 3050. (TRO: 3050U)

First off, you're messing up the terms I'm using.

I've called it a Capellan design and it is a Capellan design. It was designed in the Capellan Confederation by Capellans and even after seceding from under the rule fo House Liao, they are still Capellans. Polish were still Polish, even after being annexed into the German Third Reich and it's the same deal here. For all intents and purposes, they are still Capellans, since the word itself doesn't mean: "A person living in the CC, loyal to HL."

And it still changes nothing on the fact most Davions don't fight in Davion mechs.

How many Davion Mechs are in the game? Here is a hint:

NONE. There are some "shared" designs that Davion favors, the Blackjack, Jagermech, Centurion, etc.

But which are actually DAVION Mechs? The Valkyrie. The Enforcer. One could make an argument for the Dervish, being produced exclusively by Davion for so long. And what, the Caeser?

Show me ANY of those in game. Shoot, they don't even have any House Marik exclusives, since the only "Exclusive" in this timeline is the Hermes II.

Currently, in game, the only true "exclusives" are the Commando (Steiner) and the Jenner and Dragon (Kurita) and Raven (Liao). Even the Cataphracts are now built by Liao AND Davion. The other designs might be favored by one house or another (Orion and Awesome by Marik, for example), but they are far from being "their" mechs.

The Kintaro KTO-18 is going to pack a punch with 5xSRM6 and two medium lasers. Plus it's fast at 97 kph.

So, is the Kintaro (Golden Boy) a good mech?

It's a walking Center, but it hits hard!

PS: All KTO variants are available on Smurfy now!

Walking centers are begging for XL's... just saying. May as well turn the negative into a benefit.

The Kintaro looks good at least. I think it's a bit on the tall side. I've only seen the Golden Boy in 2 matches. One as a brawler I didn't get close to and one with a 5 LRM5 & 2ML build. I'm looking forward to it as it has interesting hard points. I believe the KTO-20 will probably be the favorite variant with it's extra energy hard points.

unbunch those Panties. Never seen them say anywhere the Zeus would never arrive. It almost certainly will, eventually..

But it's funny your anologie, as the Davions can be compalining that they have NONE of their Flagship Mechs (The Valkyrie and Enforcer, sorry the VTR is NOT a Davion exclusive, nor is the Jagermech or Blackjack) or House Marik (their only "exclusive" at this time being the Hermes II).

We as House Steiner at least got the Commando, whether we like it or not, it is "OURS".

If you had to choose which Star League heavy 'Mech to add, which one would it be? I'm thinking Lancelot. B)

I like the Flashman, followed by the Lancy.

The Flashman doesn't have the variants available (third variant in 3061; needs C3 Slave Unit).
The Bombardier doesn't have the variants available (third variant in 3062; needs Improved C3 Computer and IS ER Small Laser).

The Champion is built by Bergan Industries, which has factories for the 'Mech on New Earth (in Lyran space) on Corey (in Capellan space).
The Lancelot is built by Kurpp Stellar Technologies (which has its factory for the 'Mech on Mars, in ComStar space) and Luthien Armor Works (which has its factory for the 'Mech on Luthien, in Combine space).
The Guillotine is built by Irian Technologies, which has its factory for the 'Mech on Irian (in League space).
The Black Knight is built by Kong Interstellar (which has its factory for the 'Mech on Connaught, in League space) and is/will be built by Robinson Standard BattleWorks (which has/will have its for the 'Mech on Robinson, in FedSuns space)

None of the Black Knight, Guillotine, Lancelot, or Champion were featured in the MW2 game series or the MechCommander series.
Only the Champion was featured in the MW3 game series.
Only the Black Knight was featured in the MW4 game series.

The Champion and the Lancelot would be competing against two other 60-ton 'Mechs (Dragon and Quickdraw).
The Guillotine would be competing against one other 70-ton 'Mech (Cataphract).
The Black Knight would be competing against one other 75-ton 'Mech (Orion).

The Champion, Guillotine, and Black Knight variants would have far more homogeneous minimum hardpoint requirements within each chassis (an issue addressed by hardpoint inflation, and distribution of the additional hardpoints) than the Lancelot.

While I would much rather see a Marauder, the Lancelot seems like it is the strongest choice at the moment.

well if it comes to similarities other than tonnage, every mech from now on won´t make it in the game...
because there are only three types of weapons in game

i can´t stand arguments like that 8[

thanks to the wonders of the PDF and the intrawebz, you too can become one with a little effort! Fortunatley, Strum has already put out the effort.

Off topic. In the BattleTech novels, does it mention anything about the average life expectancy of a Mechwarrior?

Just curious... :(
