Anyone saying they want to play an urbanmech is insane. They go like 35 kph. You would be completely worthless to your team.

Agreed. The state of California says I am, too. 99% of players are worthless to their team in this game. The notion you HAVE a team outside of 12 man is all but laughable. You have a herd of cats who hopefully aren't shooting you as much as the other herd of cats.

Blasphemy! Urbie on a Spider 5K

Outstanding 97 kph from a trash can. It would be unbeatable! xD

If they released an Urbanmech they would have to release a purely city fighting map, with plenty of streets to walk down and buildings to hide behind, to complement it. Also Captain Stiffy, I highly, very highly, doubt that anyone will keep the Urbie's engine anywhere close to stock; unless they want to run the AC20 build and then they will be tagging along with the big boys.

Well, currently 3D printing ain't cheap, but working on making a TT version and a "static" model.

I'll be happy with any version that I can get my hands on ... this would be absolutely monster cool! If you are considering a small run, price should not be the issue for the die hard KGC fans .. :)

The only real blasphemy here is that you forgot the jump jets.

Yep you're right. The purpose was to show that with an upgrade engine that wouldn't be so impossible to run. Just by lowering it an regaining the low arm actuators (that should be missing in the urbie) you'd have the room to add 1 or 2 jjs that I can't place in this one :)

Most likely the new light will be the Firestarter. The Javelin doesn't have enough variants realistically. The 10P variant is nearly identical to the low tech version.

I agree, the Javelin is less than interesting because of that, but they found ways to give us "variants" on near identical loadouts with other mechs, so I can't really take it off the table yet.

Firestarter wold be my preference from play perspective. Urbanmech would be what I want for the sake of having FUN.

Only other era Light Mech I like, the Mongoose, I just dunno if it really offers anything to keep it competitive. It's a non jumping Spider, overall. That said, with a 170 speed cap, and maybe ECM (since it comes with BAP, so I could see it being stretched the other way) it might work OK.

Still rather see the Firestarter though.

Agreed. Firestart or UrbanMech. Two of the 3 most common light mechs in IS (the other is Locust).

Both humanoid, controversial and specialized.

I'm surprised there's no Panther light love, though I'll admit I don't think it brings much new to the table other than a non-chicken 35 tonner.

On the other hand, two of the three Quickdraw variants (the QKD-4G and QKD-4H) start as effectively identical (the 4H has an extra missile hardpoint in the LT, while the 4G has more JJ capacity (max 7, vs max 5) and greater arm & torso rotation/swing arcs).

Given this precedent set by the Quickdraw, the loadout/hardpoint similarity between the JVN-10N (dual SRM-6s) and JVN-10P (SRM-6 + dual SSRM-2s) may not be a disqualifying factor for the Javelin.
(The third variant would be the laser-boating JVN-10F, aka "Fire Javelin".)
