Guys, who here played Mechwarrior 2: Mercenaries? What do you think about that?

You mean one of these games?

What about an Unique MWO Mech?
Could be interesting how PGI would develop a Mech from scratch - no lore mech - a complete new Mech

Why do this if there are tons of existing cool, iconic and fan favorite mechs to be added?

It would be interesting to see what PGI would cook up. Would they follow the meta? Or would they go against it? What weight class would they favor? I could go on for quite awhile doing that but it would give us a big insight into how they think and how they believe that would benefit MWO. But I also agree with you since there are a shitload of mechs that need to be in-game. Perhaps we could talk to the Devs. and dump the basic/elite/master system that we have now and instead go with a leveling system that costs more xp to do but does not require the 3 variants and instead lets mechs without 3 variants be put in game.

I wouldn't have them design entirely new mechs unless the game desperately needs more content... Which is something I don't see happening anytime soon. I'd rather have them come up with new variants for some chassii so that they could be added to the game. Nightstar for example would be an interesting 95-tonner.

I better stop this wishful thinking before the backlash it gets any worse than it already will.

They have said they own the right to create new designs.

However I think they mean that they can create new variants.

Before they add home grown mechs, I'd like to see more modes for aerospace. Totally separate from the land-based mechs, fighters battling it out in space for jumpships and warships....

I know, prolly just a pipe dream, but there's so much more the Battletech than just mechs. Mechs are the most important part, and once that's down, I don't see why not expand into the universe.

Nice idea but not one that possible for PGI. I doubt that the cryengine (total POS) can even handle flightsims plus they would need to create an AI which is something that they have not been able to with MWO. So all this means that they would need to create a separate game in which to pull it off and MWO is a full time job as is so that means a whole new team. One of my favorite games was the X-Wing series and would love a Battletech version with space battles, dogfighting, and ground support missions. That would make a rather nice sister game to go with MWO and if they got really daring they could do what CCP is doing with eve and dust and combine the two games to interact together. Imagine while the ground pounders (mechs) are fighting for positions and assets while the flyboys are fighting for air superiority and attacking ground targets all in the same battle. Hell with future systems and servers they could even do a 3rd game running infantry too, like planetside 2; which kinda ****** me off that PGI went with cryengine when there are better engines out there that look just as good but can do more, giving PGI more options to go with MWO.

It could handle a flight sim, but online one would probably be a no-no (based on the knowledge that when asked about simulation aspect of the game, PGI responded that streaming the simulations over the network would be too hard).

Maps would need to be 10 times the size of the the current ones...

Too bad that SOE had to make their own engine for planetside 2 and they are having their set of issues because that would be what we needed to have an all out war with aerospace fighters, infantry, tanks and mechs.I wonder if anyone that gets the IP would try something like that with wars instead of having skirmishes where ammo, parts, and armor does not matter.

Where did you get the image for the Wahammer? Also I would so drop another $30 for those 2. I probably invested 300-400 into MWO and the clans have not even showed up yet. PGI are a bunch of geniuses to get that much out of me for one game without me having to buy a system.

I'm waiting for the Claymore Reinforcement pack, with the Crusader and Phoenix Hawk, myself.

Simple for the rule of cool - an experiment if you like - how would PGI develop a Mech - at least it would be interesting to see a Mech that was desgined only for MWO because your hardly can run Mechs that were developed for TT without modifications.

The Zeus for example - is cool running in TT - but I have ran in CB a Zeus Mod Awesome and heat was a serious problem , currently a Dragon Slayer Zeus mod - and heat is a problem and fire power is a joke
