Well, if you can trust that leaked image then the hardpoint inflation sure made the lackluster BNC-3E a lot more competitive. Lots of ballistic goodness can be done with 4 hp. Which is just as well, cause one other variant we will likely see, the BNC-3S, will come with 8 energy hp. I'm kinda wondering what the third variant will be?

Could be the 3M, an all Energy variant. 2 PPCs & 2 MLs.

The 3S is going to be mean. 8 energy hard points (2 PPCs, 4 MLs & 2 SLs), but also an AC/10 (1 or 2 ballistic points there) and 2 SLs. This is going to have a much smaller engine than the 3E though.

First, what did you do to the photo to get that effect? Inverting it and something else?

Second, you're not understanding. That's the Banshee-3E in the image. It normally just has an AC/5 but it's given 4 ballistic hard points. The 3S has an AC/10, so that's at least 1 ballistic, possibly 2 (or more).

They inflated the hardpoints, because the original 3E has only 3 weapons. 3S has already too many hardpoints for a ballistics inflation.

You're misreading the loadout - the pictured BNC-3E has a total of four ballistic hardpoints, of which only three are filled (with the AC/20 and the two AC/2s).

The lower number is the total number of hardpoints of that type in the location; the upper number is the number of that type of hardpoint currently occupied by weapons.

Yeah, I could see that happening, but I could see a 2nd Ballistic point added for the AC/10. Having only one ballistic slot would differentiate it more from the 3E.

At least they did not use that ugly ass version from the Alpha cover. This I may consider getting but I would like PGI to either buff Energy weapons or nerf Ballistics now that they are catering to the Ballistic meta. There is something wrong when a PPC cannot keep up with an AC5 due to cycle and heat. Besides PGI was complaining that people were dying too quickly so slowing down Ballistic recycle times would fix that some. Besides being able to throw 140 damage down range in 10 seconds seems wrong.

Well it looks to have been 'omegagun' on OutreachHPG, of course I have no idea if he'd signed a NDA or not. He could have accidentally been made privy to something he wasn't supposed to, it wouldn't be the first time...
