If they ever get off their butts and put in the BJ-2, we'd have a non-Hero that has 2 energy and 4 missile hardpoints...which would mean not only an MG boat, but a Streak boat option for the Blackjack.

Nothing related with this thread, but did you see the Clan factions' icons? ;)

I hope the devs consider in making a "generic Clan" icon, with the Clan dagger star, for those who want to join other Clans.

I still wish that PGI did some Q/A before today. I love the Wolf icon but damn it is creepy with that eye staring at you. Then you look at the Smoke Jaguar and Ghost Bear ones and wonder if the artist started to draw them out Monday. Even the Jade Falcon logo looks off with one of its legs too far forward, coming out of the wing.

Even the Clan icons got nerfed extra hard to balance with IS ones.

These are nice logos (if original art), but not the Clan logos everybody was expecting. It makes no sense in changing what people consider perfect.

well, tbh I always felt that the Wolf Logo looked like a bloody German Shepherd. I like the snarly aspect of the new one, just not the overall quality of it.

But they did indeed butcher the strength of the Ghost Bear,

Interestingly enough, art is regarded well in many Clans. And specifically...

"The visual arts are the most common form of artistic expression and widely practiced by members of every caste."

I can see why they would want to change it being that this is their game and they have been upgrading everything about Battletech. I have a feeling that if they had someone check the work, suggestions would have been made and the overall quality would have been much better. Someone already posted a redesign (a photobucket edit no less) of the Wolf logo with red empty eye sockets and it looks 100% better. Others have been pointing out little proportion mistakes all over that mar what would otherwise be a good redesign while still paying homage to the originals. What gets me is that people (like me) that have little to no artistic skills are noticing that things do not look right, while people working in their art team never noticed (or did not care). The ones that are complaining about them not being the originals, I akin to those that want the unseen mechs because of nostalgia and were going to complain anyways because PGI cannot give us the originals.

Art is subjective. Sorry you don't like it, but I think they look great. Getting your opinion on what would make it "better" would have made it worse for me, so I'm glad they just did it the way their very talented art department felt was best.

I agree art is subjective and my opinion could very well be wrong. All my life, I have had large breed dogs (2 German Shepherds, 2 Doberman Pinschers, and 2 Golden Retrievers) and I have never seen them look sideways at me or anything else; they always looked straight ahead. So when I looked at the Clan Wolf art it stood out to me that the eye seemed to be looking sideways at me and that screamed against my instinct for how dogs behaved. Others are noticing that it is off too so I doubt that it is just me and the art team could have made the eye look like it was staring ahead rather than to the side. The Clan Wolf logo is the one that I care about the most and thus have scrutinized it the most but all across the board others are noting discrepancies with the other faction logos; leaving me to believe that the art team screwed up. As for the new style I like it and do not mind PGI modifying them since they still pay homage to the originals.
