I could also still bring my DireWolf-Omega, or a dozen other designs and redesigns.

Well, I have a whole "Over" series to choose: Overkill (100 tons), Overlord (85 tons), Overpower (75 tons), Overwhelm (55 tons) and Overdrive (30 tons). :)

So, are we supposed to be Spheroids (in which case, we would need to also rescue our comrade Oda from the clutches of Star Commander Julien, as well as escape back to the IS) or Clanners (into whose unit Oda is transferred once he presumably beats Julien at his own game with the to-be-constructed Overkill)?

what year is the Overkill supposed to happen? (if it's based on when the art department finishes, it might be a Dark Age mech....)

And if It's Bishop Steiner in Brazil, then I got my IS drop deck. If it's Illya Arkhipova, then it's Clan or bust.

Overkill would never be built. I do hope, tough, that the sketch will be finished until the late 3050's. :)

I do not remember what actually happened with Michelangelo - the Agony and the Ecstasy ending is what I always remember. :)

In that he gets upset because he was promised a vacation - but does not actually get it.

So, was there a "winner" for the Blackjack hero contest?

Dunno. Did Strum have a submission? :D

But seriously..... I would be curious, though I would just love the 3050 version as a Hero.

The hero blackjack will be all energy and missiles. Just my opinion.

I did have a submission for the Hero BJ thread... though, in retrospect, I don't think the supporting proposal was quite as well fleshed-out as the one for the Lawman/IV-Four.

Though, it seems to be a popular idea to use Michael Ubodo and his personal Blackjack, "The Arrow", as the reference - which didn't come up in the thread until I mentioned it, so I'll totally take credit for that. ;) ;)

I approve your "The Arrow", Strum.
Nice to see a hero with at least something lore-based.

(but I think 2 AMS hardpoints would be too much for the "pay-to-lose" PGI hero pattern)

Very interesting design, but my OCD is screaming against stacking the missiles and ballistics on each side. Granted if they were B/M per arm then you would end up with a mini JM6-A taking the hero part out of the equation.

I do not really agree with the "pay-to-lose". Twin AMS seems to be one of those things on paper where the 2-3 tons needed for it does not seem to be worth in its viability. But playing with the Jester versus the K2 with a similar build, there is a big difference in survivability (for me at least). Personally I wish that AMS was doubled up on more mechs.
