Axman FTW!

Yea yea...no multiple variants, no melee for the axe, etc...yada yada yada...

Darn it, I want an Adam Steiner Axman lol.

Still waiting for the Zeus.

A mech looking nice but will never happen is also the Dragoon. Would work nicely as IS Omni with the 001, 003 and 004 as standard and the 002(with the bigger engine) as Hero.

Forgive me for this heresy, but what was so special about the AH that caused it to be removed and it's return desired so much?

Could it be the "2nd Wave Invasion"?

(Hellbringer, come to papa)

Yes, I would love to finally have my Warhammer...err, uh, Loki, yeah....

The Dragoon is cool. Kind of reminds me of a GOOD looking Jager. Sure, bring that mech into the game too.

It was removed in favor of the YLW thus making the YLW the only centurion variant able to equip an AC20, PGI's closest slip to P2W IMO. Bringing it back would give players a CB version able to equip an AC20 and the AH swaps out the energy hardpoints for missiles making it unique from the YLW.

We want more mechs, more options, not fewer!

Zeus would be a nice addition to the game

As for the Dragoon, isn't it extinct?

They better give me my vindicator soon...

The Dragoon is extinct, and it also isn't an OmniMech; it's similar to the Mercury, in that it is semi-modular as a means of making it somewhat easier to repair or replace weapons & easier to repair, but it does not possess actual OmniTech capability.

Yes, its extinct and not an Omni but so what. Since when does PGI care for such detail. All IS mechs in MWO are more modular than the Mercury. I can take out a MG and put a AC20 in. SCREW YOU PGI FOR THIS HERESY.

The Dragoon looks really sexy (too cool and streamlined for an ancient design, tough).

But it is extinct and there are other very common, iconic mechs, in the queue.

really

one would hope

the Dire Wolf

would have exposed

how inherently awful

a mech capable of

38 kph TOPS

would be

regardless

it's armament

Even slower than the Dire Wolf meaning that it would twist like a snail. Add in the lack engine heat sinks and that beast will be running hot even with ballistic weapons. I can see the DOA cries now bitching how the Clans are OP and that the Annihilator sucks, seeing as you will never be able to fit in a 300 engine.

Edit: It would be interesting to see if we could build Gausszilla :D

Did you format it like that on purpose? It sure does resemble the Annihilator's profile, either way...

Oh, and are you not a proponent for the "blazingly fast" Urbanmech?...

Regardless, I was being facetious. You were saying there were lots of "common, iconic mechs" in line already, so I pointed out a great mech that was neither "common", nor "iconic"... Sorry if I was not blatant enough about the joke.

How many IS chassis have been released with a fixed engine? Last I checked, there were none. Just like the Urbanmech, which would be just as DOA in stock form, for the very same reasons, all you would have to do is equip a larger engine. What would stop us from equipping a 300-class engine, btw?

I am not saying that it will be DOA but others will. They always do. As for the engine rating: http://mwo.gamepedia.com/Engines says that for an Assault mech you can only put in an engine with a rating of 1.2 times more than stock. So that mean that (200*1.2=240) you can only fit a 240 engine in. The speed for that would be: (240/100)*16.2=38.8kph and 43kph with speed tweak. Slower than the Dire Wolf meaning that it will have an even harder time keeping up, twisting, and tracking smaller mechs. Stick it in a choke point though....... Or if we ever get a fully urban map.

Well it would need Clan Gauss Rifles meaning probably never see it. But then again, PGI may loosen that restriction for Wolf Dragoon mechs. Also you can only fire 2 at a time. On the other hand instead of 5 GRs you could run 4 GRs and fire 2 at a time for an high damage output. It would be a glass cannon though.

I am not sure who wrote up those rules on engine rating, but it does not apply across the board. As a quick example, the Boar's Head can equip up to a 400 engine, even though the stock engine on the Atlas is 300 (300*1.2=360). While there is a variant that equips a 400, it is a post-Jihad variant (K2), so not applicable.

Along those same rules, the poor Urbanmech would essentially have a fixed engine rating, as 60*1.4=84, which is still smaller than the smallest current engine in MWO (100), and only give a top speed of (85/30)*16.2=45.8kph, which is barely faster than the Annihilator in question.

The Engine rating limits are done on a per-variant basis, rather than a per-chassis basis, and are based on each variant's stock Engine - thus, why a CN9-D (which starts with an XL 300 Engine) has a higher rating limit than either the CN9-A or CN9-AL (both of which start with a STD 200).
