I do not bother with consumables. 40k price tag when i only make 80k-100k per win is not worth it to me. The weapon modules are too limited to be worth the c-bills to buy them leaving pretty much the mech modules worth taking. PGI needs to really ramp it up with the weapon modules like maybe a little more range, faster recycle times, damage boost, etc. On a side note, it has been interesting watching people "spray" artillery strikes and airstrikes without hitting anyone. People seem to have stopped caring if they hit anyone since it is no effort to refill the module now.

About the new patch:

What do you guys think?

I think that is a good way to get the thread locked or otherwise derailed. Let us keep up the obsession for the Urbie and leave patch feedback for the eight billion threads already talking about it...

(Edit for contraction...let my speelchecker slip for a second...)

I gave polite suggestions.
Are you so afraid of the mods to do not express constructively your opinion?

Besides, this is a thread of "everything about mechs". Modules are an important part of the mechs (which PGI once again missed to get it right).

Basically we should not talk about anything since the only way that we will see an Urbie is when PGI feels like trolling us. Odanan had a good point in asking about the modules since PGI obviously thinks that they will change the game and I agree with them.

My view is that I like most of the modules with the exception being the weapon modules. We need more that are different. Right now all we have is range boosts that feel rather lacking but if PGI decides to release ROF mods (at the cost of damage), Damage mods (boosts damage at the cost of range or ROF), Heat mods (less heat at the cost of damage or range), etc. I think that PGI would nail their role warfare and create a lot more variety and make some modules worth getting. Imagine taking a stock Warhawk that is more heat efficient or a brawler that can keep the DPS up and shaking the enemy.

Whatever makes you feel better about it, but there are tons of threads already talking about it. I do not disagree with you, and have expressed my opinion about it in several threads already, but I do not think it has anything to do with this thread and honestly do not want to have ANOTHER thread complaining about it on my notification list.

Those threads start and die like wildfire. This thread here endures.

You don't necessarily want the 5D model. Those are rocket tubes. Basically one shots.

The wonderfully horrendous things that could be done with rocket launchers on some lights like the Locust in MWO would be beautiful to behold.

It'd be like the 9-PPC builds killing Dasihi, except you'd be alive but unarmed rather than melted and dead

The worst part of this is that it's utter garbage compared to the original cover:

But ROC had a whole series of reprints that ended up with garbage for front images. That's one of many facepalm-inducing ones.

Let's see... Modules... I like that PGI is doing something, but this really feels like an incomplete rollout. At least it better be! Obviously we need different kinds of weapon mods, and hopefully some defensive consumables. I'd prefer to see greater variety between mechs regarding module slot allocations.

Overall, I am positive on the whole thing.

I dunno, seems alright for me...

Locusts have 7(8 mastered) module slots now.
That's hilarious.

Oh I just thought of a mech module that I would love to see. Reactive and Reflective armor. Get a 10% damage reduction from ballistics but take 10% more damage from energy and vice versa. They could even add a missile damage reduction module that reduces missile damage by 10% but increases ballistic and energy damage by 5%. It would make tournament matches much more interesting and hurt the meta builds more or less depending on what is taken.

PGI after few month anounce:

- There will be a new MELEE mech weapon.
Spoiler

Community after MLEE weapon update:
- That is too OP. Need nerf!

PGI:
- O'kay, we'll nerf some lazors.

That's what I feel after they give "free" artillery slots to every mech.

Especially the second book (that I'm currently reading) where the Daishi has forward bending knees... *facepalm*

Now THAT is a good module idea.

Vindie artwork looks good. Can't wait to see it in game (and yes, I know the rumor that it's the August mech are just rumors).
