I agree with Odanan, the Dragoon mechs should never come in a standard IS pack, perhaps far in the future when they have a working salvage system they would consider a Dragoon Pack that might have some of those but for now they seem highly unlikely and not exactly fitting.
To add to the discussion I find the Exterminator to be highly unlikely and a poor fit. Its battlefield role obviously precluding it from the stand up drag out mech vs mech fights we engage in. It also often includes tech that we probably aren't getting any time soon.
The Excalibur has a sword doesn't it? Its got a variant problem too because it'd need to include SLDF royal to get to 3 variants. So its a possibility for the SLDF / Comstar style pack but otherwise no it seems to me.
Mercury is a MASC mech.
We've been over the Wolfhound's variant problems.
What does the Hermes give us that the Spider doesn't already? Flamer quirks? Seems like an uninspiring visual and gameplay choice.
The Clint, Hermes II & Whitworth are all pretty vanilla humanoid mechs that only have nostalgia really going for them no? Speaking of where is the Dervish on the list if the Wolfhound is on it.
The Vulcan is a bit awkward since its an anti-infantry mech in a game with no infantry. But its got a unique look so I could see it.
The Thug requires a SLDF Royal Variant. So again SLDF/Comstar pack material.
For now lets leave off the Age of War stuff that is basically extinct in the timeline: Gladiator etc.
Now someone go through and highlight the mechs that work best as a Comstar / Clan Buster pack rather than a standard Great House military reinforcement thing. Seems like we're getting down to mainly Comstar stuff at this point that is timeline appropriate.
