On the one hand, they just released a patch witha mech and announced a new Hero mech. On the other, reaction to the patch was terrible, so may be they'll throw a bone to distract people from how everything is broken?
It's 4 weeks since Orion announcement today.

Thirdly: It was commented upon (in an old NGNG podcast... and was mentioned thrice in this very thread (here, here, and here) and once in another) that the Devs have/had the first 32 'Mech announcements already planned out.

I have to go with 32 IS mechs eventually. We all know the Clans are coming with the 16 mechs they use. What we don't know is the IS mechs they have planned. We continually make guesses. My guess of roster (unannounced in bold italics):

That's my guess of 32 IS mechs.
As for what happens after 20?
I think we'll see a lull with the Clan invasion beginning to be announced late march. It will kick off in full early April to June. I still personally think the Clans will be initially a Horde mode until they get community warfare up sometime late July to September (being realistic it could be later). I think Clan weaponry and mech chassis will be handled with a extra loot salvage system.
One community warfare is up they will probably base the maps off invasion borders. Some of the community will join the clans and we'll fight over worlds with lore worlds being off limits. Once community warfare gets rolling I think they'll implement Solaris and dueling. Probably get off their rears and implement some training mode and other cool stuff.
Also after the clan mechs are all announced they'll begin announcing IS mechs again. Though instead of the current trickle style month to month system we'll see them in "waves" every few months consisting of 1 light, 1 medium, 1 heavy and 1 assault.
