I know the Dragoon is not a fan favourite, to put it mildly, I merely brought it up because there was the question for an IS ECM heavy mech to rival the Loki. I can live without the Dragoon. In fact, I would prefer other Mechs, including another Krupp design: the Lancelot.

It just seems I favour unpopular Mechs.

Oh I'm sorry to give the wrong impression.

I'd love to get the Dragoon. I just don't think it'll get added for the aforementioned reasons.

No need to be sorry, I was just (clumsily) making a more general observation on the Dragoon; I did not mean you in person. :)

I'm here for my lillte contribution about next mechs..... The only way pgi could have mu money will be with my dear oldie but goldie mechs.
Assassin, above all.
I played bt untill fasa died.
I don't know you, but for me all mechs after fasa era were pretty anime-ish and $h1t.

TRO3050 is where I generally draw the line. After that they get too organic. There are some I like such as the owens and the Bushwacker, but for the most part, no thanks.\

I'm loving PGI's renditions though, some of the original TRO artwork was questionable. Long after MWO shuts down, I'll be using this artwork.

Eh I wouldn't say all the old ones will be bringing the gold in. Some yes, not all of TRO3025 or before though would bring enough.

Largest pot of gold imo is the MW4 and alot of the 3059+3067 mechs. More people relate with MW3 and MW4 I think over the orginals..usually the ones who want the unseen more are of the older crowd and MW3 and 4 the younger.

That being said we are still atleast a year out probably before any massive time/tech jump so we got time to flush out the 3025 + 3050 and 3053 stuff :D

Older crowd, conversely, tends to make up the whale population, those with steady, available income. Thus, one could argue, are the ones most likeñly to buy.

Ok maybe true, but I am also picky about my mechs regardless lol. Mainly Timberwolf related, Ghost Bear mechs, or ones I remember running in MW4 (.i.e Shadow Cat, Ebon Jag, Hellbringer ect.) Arctic Cheetah I just got with wave 3 I enjoy them but eh not my favorite style. Then again I am that odd guy who likes 5 fire groups and range mixing ect lol. (Long live TBR Prime!)

Sorry, I wasn't follow the discussion about ecm/ no ecm.

I came here in the UMD thread, because I'm feeling a sad panda.

Unseen ok Bish, but I really feel love for the underrated unfamous mechs, and I'm feeling a sad panda because I have the bad feeling that we will never see them.
Not only the assassin, but hermes, clint, whitworth, the ost series, and many others.
We are in 3052-53. So when?

On the other hand, I feel that mwo really needs a tecnologic jump for something new/fresh, so a timeline jump, for new tech, new weapons....but in this way there will be new mechs too.
So.... Oldie and goldies RIP.... :(

None would like to see something weird and beautiful like the Wyvern?

As I said I often find myself liking Mechs others don't really like. And yey, I am a fan of the Wyvern, too. I love the design:

The problem is that I am not sure how it would perform in game. For my taste it would be too slow. Posted Image

It's a cool looking mech but... A medium that's barely as fast as a heavy isn't very inspiring.

It's all about having fun and nostalgia, indeed.
We already have a lot of not meta mech (meanwhile I saw many "tryhard" piloting 3-4 mech only, lol) to have fun with.

And all the missing from 3025 TRO are ok for that Posted Image

Pft. Some of the most fun you can have in this game is using an underdog and utterly destroying people with it. :3

I like a few 3025 mechs, the Assassin & Javelin are the first that come to mind.

I'm not one of those people that needs every mech to be meta but if something is just straight up bad? Not so much.

The "problem" with MWO is that Mechs which are specialized for certain roles and therefore have their rightful place in the BT-universe may be useless because this certain role does not matter in the game. Vindicator and Wyvern are good designs for what they are intended but both their roles are not needed in MWO. In the 'real' world of BT the medium Mech is the workhorse of most forces as heavy and assault Mechs are relatively rare.

In MWO the medium Mech is never the workhorse because heavy and assault Mechs are freely available. The medium Mech is a supporter, a hunter-killer of lights, a heavy scout and skirmisher. Speed is of the essence. It may be a little brutal to say, but I think medium trooper Mechs like the Vindicator should not be in game because if they adhere to the lore they must fail in MWO due to their very concept. And if they don't adhere to the lore, e.g. by upgrading the engine rating, why not take a fast medium to begin with?

Don't get me wrong. I am a fan of ComStar and of the Wyvern, so I would buy and pilot it without hesitation. But even I have to admit there are better medium Mechs out there.

So right now PGI's big focus is the Tournament and CW phase 3, but mainly the tournament. If you want to maximize sales you should be releasing and selling Tier 1 mechs, not trying to push out the last few scrap mechs.

The last mech to enter in the tournament is the Kodiak. They can announce anything now and it won't make any difference.
