I really want a light (Stinger/Wasp) or medium (Bushwacker/Assassin), but I'd take an Assualt class (Thug/Longbow)... We're a little heavy Mech saturated at the moment.

But I have feeling it's going to be the Crusader

I don't know if we will have many more surprises down the road... PGI drew a pattern and they followed it by the book.
Sure, there were exceptions (some not very big surprises):
- the Clan mechs; [not a big surprise, because of the game's timeline]
- the first Unseen wave (Project Phoenix II); [the non-Macross Unseen were featuring in Battletech for a while, in their Reseen version]
- the Shadow Cat (with an "author" P variant); [we had "author" hero mechs since the beginning]
- the IIC mechs (making the Clan tech balance even more sensible); [Clan battlemechs were inevitable]
- the second Unseen wave, starting with the Marauder; [the Macross Unseen just returned to Battletech's publications]
- the Kodiak (and its time-bending variants)... [still only variants with the current tech]
- Fire Moth breaking 200+ km/h speed; [showing the game engine can handle it]
- Timeline jump and new tech (Uziel, Nova Cat, Mad Cat MKII, Omni IS mechs, etc.); [great news for the MW4 fans]
- Melee combat (with or without melee weapons); [huge undertaking... it would be the first MW game to feature it]
- Quad mechs. [lot of work for so few mechs... unlikely it will be soon, if ever]

Crusader will come, but as Metus said, we are now saturated of heavies...
I'm betting on the Wasp!

Looks amazing!
(even if at first I thought it was an Ebon Jaguar...)

when you mount cockpit height/Shadowcat style arms on a Marauder...believe it or not...you get an Ebon Jag.
Hence the Nightstar essentially IS a jumbo Ebon Jag, or the Ebon Jag is a miniature poodle version of the Nightstar.

Odanan, you forgot L.A.M.'s.... more work than quads (to get right, and bigger maps needed), but they are still in TRO 3025 after all... besides we are getting the Phoenix Hawk now....

I would just like Air mech mode, in other words the hybrid state, operating in WiGE mode. They would hit around 162-ish KM/H before speed tweak I think, as they have a movement distance of 15 hexes in WiGE state. Mind you that number is based on extrapolation of a 190 engine Locust (a 200 engine Locust would give the same run speed of 15 hexes in TT)....
Thing is WiGE mode would give up partial cover and you'd hover half a mech height above the ground, you would also need to move at a minimum of 150m in a strait line, not to drop back to the ground before changing direction... could make for some interesting game play, more so than hide 'n' poke we see now.

Indeed! I forgot that! (would be a huge surprise)
There are the vehicles too, and the aerospace fighters, but these are even more of a long shot.

Oh yeah... my only problem with the Hatamoto is that if we get it first, we might never get the Charger...

Why so?
While the Hatamoto is a derivation from the Charger it got more similarities with the Thug.
The good about the charger are its jump jets for the 1A9 and 3K while the Hatamoto only got its hover jets with the CivilWar Variant.

Loadout-wise, the Hatamoto is indeed different. But looks-wise, the Hatamoto is just a Charger with a samurai head.

Charger variants will/would be a lot of fun!
OK, it has a more slim body... (which is weird for a better armored mech)
