It'll have a head energy mount, so we might very well get a "monoeye" look.
But it's still no Zaku, boy. No Zaku.

Huntsman would be nice... a very powerful 50-tonner. with about 23 tons of pod sapce and 5 fixed JJs, and as fast (or slow) as a nova.
any idea about what heavy might the other be? (assuming the NovaCat is out of the picture)

Just checked the black lanner....
and OMG... it has MASC... please NO...NO..NO NO...
Not another Sh* medium with useless locked equipment
MASC is a recipe for failure on a medium.

Anything is better than the Battle Cobra and the Crossbow.
The Linebacker is a no-brain for the next heavy, and this is simply because of the lack of real competition. It's a "cavalry" heavy mech, with speed over firepower. Because of the engine size, it doesn't have much weight to put on weapons, but at least it would be an unique heavy for the Clans.
And while the Clans have a lot of mediums, most of them have some issue.
Black Lanner is popular due to speed, ECM and hardpoints, but has small pod space. If it gets a hero with jumpjets, it will be a nice alternative for the Stormcrow.
Huntsman is a very balanced mech, but not very known out there; and somewhat similar with the Nova (worst hardpoints but more tonnage to play). Now the Nova will be resized, chances for the Huntsman will be lower.
The Pouncer is (for the good or the bad) basically a jumping Adder, 5 tons heavier.
The Coyotl is probably the best of the remaining Clan medium omnimechs, but mostly extinct and unknown.
I think they will follow the polls and add the Black Lanner. And I'm really looking forward for the concept art.

24 actually.
And the Pouncer is another not-terrible medium option. It looks like an oversized Adder, one of its configurations looks like an Adder, but since it can take up to 11 energy hardpoints and jumps, it's more like a 40-ton, 100 KPH Nova, with about 15 tons of pod space. Even has 2 extra DHS baked in. As far as overall capabilities go, that is. Hell, it is even similar to a 5-ton lighter Blackjack.

It's just a shame the Night Gyr is so critical space starved that it could never effectively run a Nova Cat Prime's configuration.
Maybe 9 extra DHS with 2x ERPPC and 3x ERLLas, putting it to 21 DHS.
