Negative. There is a Commando IIC, though. ... Sort of.

Light mechs, though. That is what we need. Fire Falcon, Javelin, even the Hermes for variety's sake.

Medium mechs worth seeing: Grendel, Pouncer, Assassin, Vulcan.

Yes. I mean no. I mean... you are correct, there is no Archer IIC. The irony was too good to let pass by. I suppose PGI could make a mech and call it Archer IIC, but I would be afraid of what they'd come up with. And not afraid in a good way.

Yeah but a STD engine omni isn't the most exciting thing ever.

True, but as the steeping stone between the Archer and the Mad Dog, it is an important link...

Not to mention the prime has JJ's and ECM..

The Alpha is a mid-range support unit with LPL + UAC10 + 2cERML

The Bravo is a close in killer with LB-20+2cERML+2cMPL+2cERSL

It uses FF and ES, as well as packing 10 DHS as standard, no locked equipment means it's not horrible, but she isn't going to displace the Timber Wolf or Ebon Jaguar by any means, but could be an interesting side grade to the Mad Dog.

I'm not huge on the Nightstar, it reminds me too much of the Maunder too much, and I've never liked Marauders...

As for the Sunder, I think she will need a major overhaul by Alex, other wise she will be quick to die due to those ST's and the locked 360 IS-XL.... But she does have the possibility to be good, if she wins the re-design lottery.

Longbow. In particular, the LGB-12C.

Because the one thing this game needs is more missile spam.

More lights, more assaults need to be introduced, fewer heavies and mediums until the ratio has been equalized more.

It's a step in the right direction to introduce another assault, I guess, but really, there need to be more lights. It's been nearly 8 months since the latest light mech was introduced, the Jenner IIC. It'll be a full year of no new light mechs. Which is, to be quite frank, stupid.

Haha I wish I could like this twice.

I'd freak out for the Nightstar but I think it's time for a new light mech if we're being fair because of the Cyclops.

I'd pick the Javelin or Hussar if it got new HP locations, etc. The Javelin has tons of variants which would make it easier to sell for their current price model.

If they don't want to deal with that it should be an assault & the least represented assault tonnage is 95 & the only 95 tonner available is the Nightstar.

Also my Bday is the 28th of this month so a Nightstar announcement would be perfect.

To be fair, the Nightstar is one of the few IS assault Mechs which might compete with the Clanner assaults. With Kodiak and Marauder IIC around, I'd feel saver in a Nightstar than in a Cyclops (but we will see). Anyway, I don't think it is the Nightstar.

I am afraid they'll go for TRO:3025 once more to exploit our nostalgia. And that almost inevitably means the Crusader, because it is the most popular design of this TRO.
They could also try the 25.000-argument again and bring the Marauder II.

If it is neither TRO:3025 nor the MAD II, I think the Mech hails from the Star League. Knowing the Nightstar and the Excalibur are on Russ's radar, I'd say they have a small chance. A very small chance, but a chance.

The least likely Mech is one that was build in response to the Clan Invasion, even though there are some very, very good designs like the Falconer or the Gunslinger. The problem is that they are either not very popular or don't have enough canon variants (although this point seems somewhat moot nowadays...).

Lastly, I doubt we get light Mechs but I would love them.

If I had to bet, I'd say Crusader: many variants, fan favourite.
If I could choose: Excalibur.

I give at least 50% chance that it's the Crusader. It's been requested a lot and kind of "obvious" as the missing unseen heavy... though maybe Russ was being devious with that "never say never" tweet and was already sitting on a Stinger/Wasp concept art Posted Image
