I'll take lplas wub builds over the tbolts anyday, they suck. No mobility and giant hitboxes, surpised anyone is even complaining about them. I just sold my 9S because it sucks so bad, if you had to face a wall full of 3-4 lplas wvr wub wub you would see what I'm talking about.

You can do that on the 9SE but it is not that great.

12 pages of distilled hatred. That was a joy to read. I especially love the link to B33f's Crab Warfare. I didn't realize it was B33f until I hit play. I was thinking ( Oh, a clanner posting. I wonder if this was one of our drops they dealt with? ). We started doing Crab Warfare assaults when everything else got eaten by, you guessed it, Mad Cat/Ryoken firing lines. The Crabs could take the punishment long enough to close and begin mangling and scattering people, at which point panic set in and the battle was won.

So... thunderbolt ERPPC builds. Yea. Has anyone done the ghost heat math? I know the clanners have been chomping at the bit about 3 and 4 ERPPC builds here but anything beyond 2 and you get more than an extra ERPPC worth of it. Even if heat quirks apply to ghost heat it still hurts. The Clan ERPPC has surprisingly similar stats to the IS one apart from the damage spread ( actually a bonus, 5 extra damage, just not necessarily precisely where you want it.... for free. Please, for once, take you cookie and just eat it will you? It's a cookie. Cookies are good. )

So, IS gets one mech that is phenomenally good at one weapon that itself is sub optimal unless team boated. Srsly? So CHARGE THEM! Apply the same tactics clanners keep telling IS to apply! Once you get to facepunch range ERPPC's are terribly unwieldy even with quirks. Firing lines were massacring us so we changed tactics. ( switched to Crab Warfare from Run for your LIIIIIIIGHTS! ) Now you must do the same.

We'll have to agree to disagree, to some extent.

Hey, if someone can show me a consistent, massive disparity in match results, particularly compared to Clan mechs, I'll bite, but I don't personally see it. My stats are skewed much more in favor of the 5SS, the SCR, the TBR, and even my Misery. It's not even close (triple KDR most cases) and we're talking about over hundreds and hundreds of matches (thousands for the Misery).

Of course, YMMV and it's just MHO.

I played last Night some quirkmonsters and .... daaaaamn it was fuun ^^ Thunderbolts vomiting Er ppcs nonstop we did it outside of CW with 3 4xerppc thunderbolts. Everything was melting infront of us XD K the Alpha only works on cold maps but 3 are also ok. Then we taked the wubverine. Was also much of fun to nearly snipe with IS Large Pulse Lasers. I also like the King Crab, had much fun with the 40 dmg pinpoint and 2x ErLL.
Had way much more Fun with the IS Mechs then with the Clanmech in the last Days.
Sure we are limited to the Quirked Weaponsystem but it dont matter because it makes too much fun XD
Sad that i cant have that feeling with the Clanmechs.

I've spectated clan mechs a lot. I haven't actually played them. Building to a quick advantage in an IS mech certainly has a fantastic feeling but with clan mechs I feel like I never know what's coming exactly. That uncertainly sucks a bit. I've also seen weapon lists on clan mechs that read like the grocery list for the White House. Not the President, but the whole staff. Some chan mechs just have an ungodly number of hardpoints and some people manage to fill them all. I've seen clan lights that make the Swayback look sick. The LRM's have reduced damage but they can engage at any range making them a weapon that shouldn't be complained about by teammates. I would love to mount SSRM 6's on my Shadowhawk. These things I'm sure don't feel like a min-maxxed quirk build but do you not feel like you're missing them when you play IS mechs?

Yea a Nova have a ungodly amount of Lasers for example ... but do you realy think that works with the higher heat of Clan Lasers? Nova is even on cold Maps just hot as f...
And the streaming Lrms are not that great ... enough ams and you can bring down more of the rain as against IS LRM. You can also use cover much better because if you walk behind something maybe just the half of the Clan missles hit you. With IS you get the whole pack if you are not fast enough. And hey the only boat we have is so restricted we can only mount 4x CLRM 15 with realy low ammo. (Warhawk)
SSRM 6? I dont miss the Extreme long cooldown. Sure its a nice Lightkiller but only if it dont run away until you hit with your 2 or 3 salvos that you need to kill a Light. Against bigger targets? I take the better SRM 6+A (lower cooldown).
Clans have a nice Range with all weapons and can mount many of them but the problem is that they also have a ton of disadvantage.
The Clanmechs feels broken against IS Mechs.... i mean .. srly the standart Nova Build just dont work... chainfire = damn low DPS and even with Chainfire it overheats like hell. Its like Standart IS Builds ... but IS only need to buy Doubleheatsinks and its a whole new mech. Clanmechs stays hot and we cant upgrade anything to change this. The only Thing i can do is to unmount some of the Lasers and replace them with Doubleheatsinks... and hey then i lose my advantage of mounting many weapons.

Sure we have some Cheese Mechs too like IS also had before. Dual AC20 or Gauss Jager, Splaterpults.
Clan have a Dire wolfs with 6xUAC5 or a bunch of other UACs or Dual Gauss but he is slow and stay slow, easy to outrun them.
Timberwolf is realy a hard Mech. Survive some heavy punishment, have speed and can still mount some weapons. But the fixed Equip make it hard to fit realy usefull Stuff. (cant even get a equal good Clone of my K2 *2xAC10 4x MedLasers* )
But still, it can mount 4 srm6 and 4 med lasers if you want.
I dont get why so many complain about the Stormcrows. Legs are tasty .. just saying.
And i like the Hellringer. Heavy with ECM is realy nice but he miss a litte the Tonnage for Weapons or Doubleheatsinks because of the fix Engine.

I would love to sacrifice my "Omni" Hardpoints for some good Quirks ...

All in all it make much more Fun to play with the IS Mechs with their Quirks and their PinPoint Weapons (God i love the AC20)
They just feel they can work with the weapons they can mount. Clanmechs have a hard time with even thier standart builds.

But thats just my opinion
