Well, since I 'm already accused to be a fanboy, theres no hiding <_<
Love it!
Great design, strait focused structures, AC high up, where it belongs.
The center torsos symmetrical proportions against the asymmetrical arms, make for a nice mix.
A highly recognizable silhouette on the battle field.
When do I get mine?

I was a bit iffy on first glance, but that is all due to the pose.
Very cool design of the Dragon, I can't wait to be ammocritting that torso.

Here's some speculation for you all - does the new front mounted laser mean that rear firing weapon systems are unsupported?

Dragon has some pretty heavy armor you have to get through first. <_<

I'm hoping so, both for ease of game play and increased effectiveness in several designs.

But... I want to spray napalm in 360 degrees with a Firestarter. <_<

You still can, you just have to turn in a circle.

Nice 'Mech! I drove this one in MW2: Mercs, I believe, and it was actually a very nice design. I know this will be, most likely, restricted to Kurita elements and Mercs working for Kurita, though by lore those should be bloody few up until about 3057, but I would love to eventually get a few of these into AU, eventually.

This was noticed with the first mech reveal of the Atlas, as it's 2 medium lasers were forward facing too.

Oops, I didn't notice it on the Atlas. I kinda liked how MPBT handled and supported rear firing weapons - I actually used them a lot with my Wolfhound.

Have you noticed, that devs are Kurita fanboys? I mean really. They posted 4 mech, 2 of which are Kurita only designs. I demand something I can drive, please, give a good mechwarrior a good mech. Chinese ones will broke quickly and no way I'm going to pay for them. <_<

Not a huge fan of the Dragon, but I do like the remake of it better than the original art. There seems to be big "If modern military designed mechs" theme going on. Reminds me if an Abrams or Bradley turned into a mech.

Having gotten over the initial dissapointment of the cool surprise being just another piece of concept art, I have to say, that is some sweet concept art. Another stunning mech design by Alex and for my money, far superior to the original. I'm so glad you got rid of those flared cylinders on the shoulders. The 'Awesome' has them too and something about them is so jarring visually, it makes me just want to punch something!

If you look at the plug for this article on the home page, in the lightbox. You'll notice all the thumbnail concept drawings for the Dragon, like they did with the Atlas. I hope you'll post this to the media section also devs. It's fun to see the different concepts, and how the final design evolved. Anyway, thanks for this months special Wednesday surprise, was certainly a worthy extra birthday pressie! :-)

I enjoyed the thumbnails from the interview with Alex as well.

Can we see a wolfhound next? <_<
