Other pseudo predecessors. ( IMO )
Thunderbolt -> Thor
Stalker -> Daishi
Marauder/Catapult -> Guess
Warhammer -> Loki
Charger -> Man O War
Locust -> Dasher (Look at the upraised arms, nto the legs)
Firefly -> Uller
Crab -> Blackhawk
Atlas -> Gladiator
I'm sure there are others. These are obviously not actual predecessors, but they share some looks and or capabilities.

A lot of those I agree with you. But the Black Hawk is a thing of beauty all of its own.
Nova has no turret, Crab has turret and long nose.
Nova is chicken walker, Crab is not.
I am kinda partial to the Black Hawk, and just wanted to defend it.

Im noticing a sad trend here. Lets spice up the game and make it not even mechwarrior. Thats the vibe im getting considering people dont even want to use the customization or correct artwork for the models and rules. Im gonna rage!

Well, the good news is, the game is free to play. They have made a concerted effort to bring the styling and detail to a whole new level of "realism". No more having mechs look like they'd fall over in a stiff breeze, or appearing to be completely incapable of actually moving without tripping themselves, let alone participating in battle. If you still don't care for the art design after you play the game at least you aren't out any money.
You do seem to be in the minority opinion on the matter.
