I take it your one of those players who doesnt know how to use 5 JJ's on a heavy. Typical.

troll harder.

I have like 400 drops in my Thor and its my favorite mech..Yet its still a POS compared to every other CLan heavy.

While they aren't Terribad, they aren't great.

Its not meta. Thats why everyone claims its bad. You can run " non meta " in a clan mech and do very well. People seriously need to learn to play. Its a clan mech with decent quirks.

You could. Those are good mechs. Your listing the strengths of all those mechs without listing what the summoner can do. It has far more mobility than any of those choices.

Look, all im saying is the Summoner, especially after quirks, is not a bad ride. It comes down to getting a good build on it, and pilot skill.

I do own the Summoner. Ive gotten 900 damage multiple kills in a game with 5 srm6's while I was leveling him up with no basic's, and srm's are the worst weapon system in the game.

Comparatively speaking its always been garbage in MWO. Compare it to any of the past mechwarrior games and its even more obvious the Summoner got the short end of the stick. You're mistaking actual effectiveness of the mech with your ability to club seals. You can club tier 4 seals with whatever you want, that doesn't make your mech good.

Clan mechs and clan weapons are just as effective against tier 4 seals and pro players. Sorry to tell you.

I don't thin anyone is arguing you can't have good matches in it, or that its BAD.

But it is, objectively speaking the worst clan HEavy, well... some would say Mad Dog, so maybe tied with. And both have one thing in common...no endo.

That said, I do play up the mobility,l I'm a medium mech guy. But it's mobility alone is not enough to close the gap.

I don't think anyone would call the SMN better than the TBR or even the HBR, but the SMN isn't a bad mech.

Everyone makes such a big deal when endo isnt on the mech. Does the Dire Wolf suck because it doesnt have endo? Nope. Do any of the clan mechs that dont have endo suck? no. alot of them have quirks that more than make up for a few tons of doubleheatsinks. Its not that big of a deal.

Also, a 6 streak 6 maddog will always be a solid mech.

I don't think that is the point of the argument.

Point is, except for mechs blessed with high hardpoints and ecm, like Hellbringer, mechs with no Endo are inherently inferior to ones with.

One could even argue, because Hoverjets, that 5 tons locked equipment makes it objectively worse.

Yeah...um, direwolf has 50 tons of podspace already... it needs the crit s more than tonnage. Apples to oranges, much?

Low weapon tonnage, and low hardpoint count is always a detriment. SMN has basically ONE accepted semi comp build, and it's not the Splat/Streakoners, but the PPC/Gauss poptart.

Excuse the crap out of me if I would like the versatility to build that every other heavy has.

You just dont like the summoner, its ok to admit it : ) Its not everyones cup of tea. Enjoy your other heavies, but stop saying its a terrible mech.

And I was trying to find a metaphor for the SMN.. Something about a fish climbing a tree..... I almost want to call any comparison to the holy trinity unfair because they set a standard that is even too high for MWO (IMHO). "The SMN, it's no TBR." Well, that's right, it's not a TBR, its a SMN.

I would kill for a stock game mode.....

Your ignorance is showing. As is your reading comprehension issues. I have over 700 drops in my Summoner. It's my favorite heavy. I don't like that it's so limited in loadouts, and that one can't even give a heavy ballistics decent back up weapons. I have not called it terrible. It is, objectively speaking, mediocre.

So, now that your argument has utterly failed, and all, what next?

I've had a 1000 dmg in mine, hell I've had 1000dmg in my KTO20, still doesnt mean its a good mech!

The entire MWO community recognizes the Thor as a crappy mech. But please continue to troll so we know which forum members to put on ignore....

The Summoner needs the Dragon quirk treatment since compared to other Clan heavies it's very limited like the Dragon is in Inner Sphere. Armor, structure and very good UAC and PPC quirks, not the barely noticable quirks it got. Those are a bit too meager to offset the lack of payload. It's got no ECM like the Hellbringer and carries half as much almost. Hover-Jets do nothing but let it go uphill a bit faster. It is just is owed better by MWO which has not supported it very well in it's rebalancing.

nobody is saying you cant do well in the Summoner, but compared to the other Clan mechs it is severely lacking in firepower, tonnage and mobility! ( it should be moving-torso,arm twist- and jumping like a medium and some light mechs)

one thing that would break canon, but help, if we want to "play it like a mobility" mech, is to allow it lower arm actuators (edit, for ACs and PPCs, for those too deficient to figure the context of "breaking canon rules"), so that it can actually maximize that mobility by not having to stare at what it shoots.

Wont happen, though.

It has lower arm actuators actually. Did you somehow miss that? Or do you just ignore that fact because " the meta " build is erppc gauss and thats all you use? lol.

Yes, I forgot to list "lower arm actuators with PPCs and ACs".

My bad. Any other trolling you need to get off your chest? Feel like you won the internet?
