I did some benchmarks to compare frame rates between the 4 combinations of 32 bit, 64 bit, dx9 and dx11.

Wish we had the new maps in training ground to do a proper test since those new maps are killing my frame rates, but I used Viridian Bog, with a Jagermech, running straight line until I hit a wall about a minute in. Used fraps to record stats. Settings on Very High, vsync off.

My rig:
Intel i5 2500K (4 core @ 3.3 GHz)
Geforce GTX 570 (1280 mb vram)
8 GB DDR3 PC3-10600

bits - dx - Min FPS - Max FPS - Avg FPS
32 - 9 - 40 - 86 - 76.158
32 - 11 - 31 - 78 - 66.424
64 - 9 - 37 - 88 - 76.461
64 - 11 - 43 - 79 - 67.160

So DX11 is still giving about 10 FPS drop, but 64 bit doesn't make much difference.

I see no difference between Dx9 and Dx11 on my system
but I did see (subjectively) an increase
of about 10 fps or so
by going 64bit
route though.

My sys is:

AMD 1090T Phenom (OCed to 3.8 on air)
(which has 1 core pegged when running MWO)

GTX 970 (OCed and not OCed--tried both)
(which is running MWO at 50% utilization
with all the visual bells and whistles set at max)

8GB of x4of2GB @1600MHz

Try to set your video card and NVidia settings to everything low for MWO and see if your Dx9 vs. Dx11 performance would improve, if it does, then it's your video card to blame, it being oldish but goodish. I get about the frame rates you are getting when I went with 64 bit MWO client.

as far as minimum FPS, 64 Bit DX11 seams best while max FPS goes to 64 Bit DX9, average FPS has minimal differences between 32 & 64 Bit with DX9 on top with ~10FPS More than DX11

I'm not sure that would be the only conclusion to draw as MWO's DX11 implementation could still be borked.

I notice lower FPS, stuttering and moments of lag (game will stop for a split second) with DX11, regardless of bits, with my R9 290.

I too saw a noticable increase in FPS when going from 32bit to 64bit. From comments here and in other threads it seems that the 64bit client has helped AMD users more than Intel users. I haven't run any scientific tests, but before I switched to 64bit, I never saw frames above 63fps. Now I regularly see max frames climb above 70fps (think the higest I saw was on Tourmaline at 76fps with v-sync off). Dips don't seem to go as low either. Plus I upped my environment from low to medium.

FPS in MWO is driven primarily by the CPU, not the OS or DX version.
