Why was drop deck tonnage raised from 140? For most skilled pilots 4 Firestarter Hs will out dps 4 Vindicators....

So basically 4 Firestarters, 4 Jenner, decks have been banned.

You answered your own question.

"For most skilled pilots 4 FireStarter H's will out DPS 4 Vindicators...."

Think about that for just a minute.

Like always they are trying to fix a sickness by nerfing the symptoms. What they need to do is nerf timbers and crows. Then light buff some of the worse clan mechs again.IS wouldnt have to hope for a zerg if they felt they could win normally.

And yet you don't see a problem with the fact that 35 ton IS lights can wreck 55 ton and 75 ton clan mechs? Biased much?

They can't if those 55 ton and 75 ton Clan 'Mechs are piloted with any level of competency, or (if you lack competency) have any Streak-6s equipped.

Yeah, this doesn't really change much, you can still take a 4x Cicada deck, or just 3 lights and one heavier 'Mech to offset the change. I wasn't aware there were that many people taking a full deck of lights so often that it was even an issue. Sure, the zerg rush is an effective tactic, but the rewards are piddly. Much better to start off with Assaults/Heavies, get some kills, take out some turret defenses, and then switch to the lights for the final push.

Zerg tactics are too good.

If an assault pilot has to settle with piloting a few mediums to fit their assaults in. Why should light pilots get a way with a drop deck full of lights.

It is not about lights being able to smash heavier 'Mechs, but full light rushes being too hard to counter and too effective.

They'r e not wrenching for what i seen its 12 men teams of zerg . They are just running by them., Really if they start doing to much clan will bring more 5x ssrm6 mechs and take care of the problems. IS they're isnt much they can do to stop it other than legging with ac weapons.

yay no more 4 light drop decks!

Probably to help the rushing. Instead of having 4 waves of nothing but lag inducing lights they are forced to bring at least a medium.

Simple answer.
To impose the same restrictions on all light drop decks that are imposed on all heavy/assault drop decks

If the minimum weight was 120 tons, players could have a full dropdeck of quad Urbanmechs. Do want and must have.

Most of the "theories" in this thread wouldn't even be posted if you saw the convos and explanations on twitter.

Instead of posting assumptions

Good or bad there's a lot of interaction on twitter with russ. Some of you could definitely benefit from the info and would understand why some of us just shake our heads at some of the stuff posted by a select few on these forums

It's almost like if Russ posted on the game's forums instead of Twitter this might be less of a problem.

I take 3 lights and my missile Jager most times

Some times when I want to die fast I take my hunk of junk free Victor

I wanted to buy a DDC and a Cicada for CW but once they nerfed C-bills what’s the point buying more Mechs

so the real reason to take lights has to do with cost and fire power

Well this is just symptomatic of one of the main problems of MWO, they explain why this is like that and this does that and so forth and people say that it's ok because PGI said so.

But lights .... the go fast , have small hit boxes , decent armour with the previous two factors considered and you can fit some nice weapons on some of them. But here lies the problem .. they are supposed to be scouts yet people can use them like an assault.

They are hard to hit with most weapons and those that are easiest to hit them with (not streaks) take time to bring them down.It could almost be said that lights are more survivable than assaults .. which is laughable but true in some ways. And the fact that people have to use precious tonnage and slots to fit a mech to counter a light is equally bad as that is then poorer at taking on the heavier classes.
As for the usual we have to use them because clans are OP nonsense , it is getting a bit tiring especially with all the quirks the IS enjoy now. Fact is some IS mechs can outrange and outdamage the clan mechs.

Notice I said right or wrong.

I agree 100%
but that's not the case for whatever reason. Then when people who DO follow twitter try to disperse that info, it's met with constant "citation needed" crap so a lot of us just stop and sit back and watch many of the same select few wail and flail about with absolutely no clue as to what they're talking about.

Even still

I doubt it. Those same people argue with you when you cite information that HAS been posted on the forums and expect you to be their personal librarian and go dig it up for them. They don't read it in the first place
