Amen. I hope we can get something done. Our forces seem to work beautifully well together, regardless of the foe we face. I think having Marik be the third part of the (Working title, bear with me) "Free Worlds Federated Commonwealth" would be great for all of us.

I think I've made it abundantly clear how I feel about this. The FRR is in a position right now that only Davion + Marik can get them out of. I do not want to see them shrivel up and die because we are just too prideful to see the needs of those around us.

Obviously, I don't speak for all of Marik...
As was evidenced during the holiday cease fire, Marik is true to its word.

Marik was the only other faction to remain true to its word to stand down aggressions towards its neighbors, until House Steiner directed the 228th to attack us and take Dubhe, the response to which, required our taking of Cavanaugh II.

As far as I'm aware, our agreement with our neighbors to the east remains strong as long as that border remains quiet. We will not be the ones to break the Non-Aggression Pact.

Having said all that, we have been forced to ignore the insults hurled across our northern border (along with not a few Gauss Rounds) for too long, so if you wanted to dial it back a little bit, I think the Fist needs to know what you experienced on Asuncion and Wazan.

I am with you 100% on that one.

Boy, a second Wazan would be a thing to behold. I wish we can record all of the drops wherever that happens. I wish we had recordings of the ones on Wazan. That was brutal.

As I mentioned else-where, I'd happily partake in the formation of a new Star League. If you care to coordinate defensive or offensive operations against the clans, Charlie Company of the Robinson Rangers Brigade stands with you - and I'm sure the rest of the Rangers would fall into line once Brigade command gives the all clear.

Not my place to discuss. I'll go where I'm told and do what I'm told but it pleases me to consider some solid alliances coming out of this. Marik and Liao are, I'm sure, good buddies and will remain so - same with Kurita. However Liao made a huge push to take a world from Davion - the response to which, for what it's worth, was to go 100% defense until the duration of our offered ceasefire ended. We held it even it Liao didn't choose to accept it. We may still be fighting against Kurita and Liao until something different is worked out in the same way that Steiner and Marik may trade a lot of fire, however Davion and Marik ground out a stupid amount of matches for the territory exchanged and a serious observation of the map shows a steady progression of the Clans south. Kurita, Steiner and FRR are flat out falling to raw numbers and the times when Davion and Marik decided to roll as full on units they did (at least that I've seen) just fine knocking Clanners down and making them eat dirt.

Like all treaties anything worked out would be units that agree to it and are subject to the same limits of enforcement but the Davion/Marik border showed itself over this holiday ceasefire. That's not something to blow off lightly IMO.

You know as you look over other events and forum conversations it is fair to say that the Davion/Marik treaty held better than any other border on the ceasefire. That was cool and speaks well of the discipline of the big units involved.

Seriously, people who are important people, go get on teamspeaks and do the thing you do with stuff like this. We fought for a secure FWL border, right? Well, the Capellans want a full piece of us now and the hundreds of FWL/FS players who were grinding there could be well used other places and to very good effect.

Which is why we love, and respect you guys so much. If we can get more Marik/Davion drops on the clan borders, I bet we can stop them, or slow them down. Since today it seems they have been moving steady with no opposition.

You gave us your word, and we gave you ours. The holiday ceasefire proved what both sides wanted to prove... that we can indeed work together and not stab each other in the back. A more formal declaration for a ceasefire should be put into the works between the AFFS and the FWL.

Meanwhile, those of us who are drop commanders need to organize somewhere, chat with each other and coordinate our efforts against the clans. We can let the upper echelons debate whether or not planets get handed back or not.

I just had my last CW match as a PUG on the clan border. Apparently, "ready" and "push" are not usable terms in the PUG vocabulary. It's a cold, cold world when you charge the enemy alone...

We can push them back, I have no doubt. We communicate and coordinate better than any other faction, it's just a matter of high command making the call.

The FRR has already given me the ok to use their TS server for coordinated drops with them. I have yet to take them upon it, but I'm sure that they would approve if asked by others.

We lost because they tried to get into a sniper fight with the clans. We lost because they cared more about padding their damage scores, than they did about winning. We lost because they lacked the mental fortitude to push forward and reclaim the landing pad for Alpha lance. We lost because they gave the enemy team 12 TWELVE! free kills. Many of them will never know why we lost, and instead hang on to the notion of "clans OP" instead of trying to improve their play, and learn to follow orders.

This is exactly what happened. While most of us were clinging to life in the trench, one guy was bold enough to brag about his kills. In all actuality, he was in the back, finishing people off that everyone else had already shot at. I think this is why the clans are gaining ground.

TS servers have their waxing and waning hours. Could be you caught them on one of their empty hours.

So wait, there's a more permanent IS ceasefire being floated around to focus on the clans?

Now that would be interesting. The 5th Succession War, over by Christmas...

There is? That could explain the lack of action on the DAV/MRK border.

Quote from IraqiWalker:

Spoiler

I had the exact same thing happen to me. The clans took and stayed at the alpha gate on Sulfurous Rift, and farmed the mechs that dropped there with no opposition by Kuritan forces. They just stood at the cannon and watched as all 4 players, drop after drop, were farmed very easily. Aside from me getting a shot off, maybe two (I don't quite remember), the Kuritan pugs never did anything to help and the orbital cannon got rolled easily.

And then the bitching started, just as you stated, that clans were OP. The clans weren't OP, our troops just froze and did nothing to stop it. I don't know if we would have won the match or not, but the fact that there was no effort on the defenders' part was what did us in.

Edit: Removed "in reverse". Misread IraqiWalker's original post.

Oh, I thought you guys were tossing the idea around further back in the thread. I know the Christmas truce was to the 27th.

I haven't been playing much over the last couple of days, so I thought I missed something.

No, that's what happened to us. They took the Alpha gate on Sulfrus, and then just camped the alpha spawn point, while the defenders just watched as drop after drop alpha was farmed. Funny enough, it was on Byesville (Kurita planet).

The Holiday Truce was through the 26th. So festivities should have started by now. Although, I personally would be happy with a more permanent Cease-Fire, or an alliance with Marik.
