I understand Christmas is about the spirit of giving, but please don't get me anymore bullets...or lasers...or missiles.
I got too many of those already.

The real question is how 228th plays it from here.. time will tell
If clan space was kicking your butts and you turn to south border i can understand that..
See ya on the battlefield
4 people were dropping on Dubhe. We saw action on Dubhe, and we wanted to play IS v IS combat.
I'm sorry, but I'm not going to reduce my game play time, nor will I allow someone else to dictate how I spend my time.
We had a group of 4. We all wanted to play CW, we all wanted IS v IS combat. Dubhe gave us this. You confronted me? You asked me why I was dropping against pugs. I told you we wanted to play IS v IS combat. You asked again, why pugs. Match Maker doesn't give me that choice. I would of still dropped against Marik 12mans with my group of 4, because we wanted to play IS v IS combat and the planet was in fact showing action.
I think the issue here is you think we started dropping at the beginning, but this isn't the case at all. We saw what was nearly a 30 att / 30 def going on and wished to play. The fact that the planet came along with it? That is just the mechanics of CW. We weren't playing for a planet, we were playing cause we wanted to play the game mode with IS v IS combat.

Again... I get what you're doing, I'm just correcting Dead's post... it wasn't 'solo drops'
Either you're being obtuse to the fact of the cease fire or you don't care.. I would say it's the latter..
It is just a game, you're absolutely correct, but folks should be informed as to how you and 228 are deciding to play the game
Suffice it to say that what I stated to you on Mercstar still stands, I notice the trends, I'm just pointing out the 'playstyle', time will tell how things go

The "holiday truce 2014" post, says to post in the Davion holiday truce post to confirm. No Steiner representative posted there.
Now let us look at the Steiner holiday truce post. There is a post there that relates to the Davion / Steiner truce, but again no agreement or Steiner rep agreeing to the terms.
As such, with no recent orders being given from Steiner's High Command, we followed the orders passed down to us.

LOL.. 'specific'? How more specific does it have to be, do you eyes deceive you in terms of the map and activity?
Your post clearly states you won't have anyone dictate how you play the game, do your own posts state the truth with the post you're placed here? Which is it? Steiner 'high command' dictates for you or do you still stand by your 'we don't let anyone dictate how we play'? can't be both....
Actions and time will tell the tale... again, trends...

As it stands it doesn't make sense to sign up with a Faction and then go against their orders. But the irony of all this is that in a month, lots of people will change banners, and the meta will change due to patching, so a lot of attitudes will shift. The main purpose of my posts was to see how 228th would respond and how much they are involved in faction politics.
And personally I am really enjoying CW. I am just lobbying in various ways for its improvement.

What are the lopsided exploited mechanics in question? Bigger numbers? So, same issue with having a 12man vs pugs in CW? Bigger groups have an advantage?
Are you saying that no faction should be able to develop or exploit any advantage? IN which case... why not just have Faction Elo? Factions can only play against equal factions I guess?
I admit I'm not sure what you think is happening that's exploiting or broken or how you think it's supposed to work out. If situations were reversed we all know Marik would roll into Davion with both feet. Props to them, that's what they should do.
Appreciate the moderate response. I will make the issues as I see them very clear, as I have elsewhere in suggestion threads.
1. More population in one faction manifests in various ways; for one there are more pugs, and this especially provided an advantage early on. It's being continually nerfed.
2. Another way it shows is more units in one faction means more 12 mans, faster drops, more matches against fragmented teams. The fragmented teams are more likely to lose interest in playing against stacked odds, especially when attacking.
3. The deadline effect of a ceasefire during american primetime means having a larger population of primetime players is also an advantage.
I don't think anyone can be objective about the effects of population on the game until there's a real attempt at balancing the population going into either side of a border.
Anyway, I can't speak for everyone else but I supported a treaty with Liao because we wanted a challenge and felt empathy for what was clearly a weak opponent. Whereas other factions are seen to troll the other side when they are winning against a low population. You have no reason to assume every group of players thinks the way yours does. Some people are looking for a challenge and apply that to the RP.
Advantages should be developed and exploited, but if it's as simple as everyone jumping into one faction, that's really just people looking for easymode. personally I'd like to see a large amount of people playing different factions with different tactics and goals. Diversity will keep CW alive.
Faction elo seems like a bad idea, I worked up a concept that I thought would allow competition without stagnating interest, but this post is already long.

Obviously it's not as simple as ghost drops, as I wrote above. As for the math, Liao is the only number that is 100% against Davion. Marik's numbers are split between Davion and Steiner. Kurita's are split between 2 clans, Frr, Steiner... so only a fraction of their populace counts against Davion.
Davion forum-fighters habitually talk about how 'challenging' the game is for them but then post statistics about how their planetary gains far outstrap every other IS faction's. Essentially Davion is profiting from the Clan Invasions and trying to spin it so people don't ally against them. It's a bit simplistic to say their goal is to make CW boring; it's more that their goal will have that effect for anyone that isn't playing clans against them. Luckily PGI has taken note.
