why is this game such a grind ... i grinded 3 days just to get 5M ... there are atleast a 100 mechs in the game and for every mech i need to grind a week ... and if u want to "elite" your mech u need to buy 3 same/similar mechs ... its just killing the fun had prem for 1 day and it wasnt worth it ... only 130K- 200k per game

any1 got any ideas on how to get more c-bills? cuz only 100000 avg is just to little ... atleast for me

Hero mechs or gift mechs that supply bonus Cbills is the best way to go. Also, you need to be a team player, meaning stick with your team to gain extra Cbills or use missles.

1 mill cbills should be around 8 games or so. Once you get better at the game, gaining 1 mill cbills an hour is doable. Sadly it will take you a weekend to get any of the higher tier mechs.

Seriously!... It's a crying shame that I can't have all the mechs for free in a matter of hours.

Since mechs are nothing more than toons/characters in this game, there are plenty of successful games that give all of the available toons free to players. Technically IMO mechs should be cheaper or free and in-game content must be paid for.

MechWarrior experience of 90s-00s, Multiplayer. All The Mechs In Seconds, No Grind. A better gaming time of a more civilized, non-subpar-F2P gaming age.

Admitibly before 12v12 making cbills used to be alot easyier, and they nerfed cbill gain again when they reworked rewards.

But I'll give cbill making tips.

Play conquest, its a potential 37k extra cbills.( you will have to deal with you team scattering asll over the map like ******* while the enemy team deathballs and kills you lance by lance thou)

Use narc beacons.... or that super crappy tag thing. If someone gets killed by lrms while there narced you get a extra 6k cbills.

bring atleast a lrm 5, for whacking each player once.

move with the blob and focus fire what they do, that way your likely to hit everyone.

Go back in time and join before they nerfed cbill gain twice in a row.

I recently played on a fresh account, and the grind is much much much worse then a year and a half ago when i started.

Got 2 mastered mechs in my favourite weight class (radar derp , advanced target decay, advanced sensor range , advanced zoom , c lrm cooldown 5, lrm cool down 5, target info gathering)

And I haven't spent a real world dime on the game.

The games just about playable , But the meta continuously being allowed to break balance , Yeah I'm not rewarding incompetence with $$ sorry.

But the grinds fine.

and how do i access this event

um i dont want that ... just dont want to play the same mech for 3 days just to get 5 M...and then repeat just to get the second version of the same mech and grind again for 2 weeks just to get the third SAME mech

Just for clarity... You inferred "there are at least 100 mechs and each would require grinding for 3 days"... <_<

Expect a lot of hyperbole from both sides to be thrown around with no small amount of condescension. DaZur's post being a good example.

No offense War but it gets pretty flipping mind-numbing to constantly see posts from members who apparently have zero understanding of the mechanics of free--to-play and the unyielding placation by vetted members who know better.

Is the mastering of three variants a major pain in the ass? Absolutely, without question and hesitation. It's completely unimaginative and lazy and any other derogatory qualifier you might wish to lay upon it...

That said, MW:O is a F2P entity and as such there is a necessary evil to create sticking-points to make players question which is more important to them... "time" or "money"?

So please spare me the hysterics over a smidgen of condescension... <_<

No argument... That said we can romantically pine for the days of single-purchase release days or we can begrudgingly accept the new norm of F2P and kick-starter development mechanics. ;)

So trade one piece of digital kit for another accomplishes what? All your doing is removing the tariff on one bit and leveraging it against another....

even the cheap mech are just noth worth it cuz u need to spend atleast 5M just to upgrade it to a playable state

This might not be the right game for you then. I find the best part is piloting a single mech and getting to learn every inch of it. Its size, hardpoint positioning, its acceleration and deceleration, turning radius, etc. It could also just be that you haven't found 'the right mech' for you. Try running some trial mechs, see what you like, then ask around about other mechs like it.

Well I derped...

Shouldn't have bought a bay then when I raked in my first 300 from the event then. Forgot they go on sale now and then. Guess I'll bank the rest I've got now.

Don' waste your time OP. Many have tried before you to convince them. Just do what most new players do, give up and move to another game. EVERYTHING in this game seems to be created to increasing the grind. From that completely assinine 3 mech requirement, the XP Skills that don't actually do anything, to that horrible UI 2.0. The UI is desingned to make it difficult to find your modules and eqipment in hopes of frustrating people into buying more. Hell they just recently nerfed income overall. So buyer beware is all I can say.

Just play for fun. Don't just play your 'best CBill grinder'. Play what you want to. I play for a couple days, enjoy the hell out of it, and then find I have the CBills to buy a mech. I don't try to maximize my grind, I just play to have fun. I enjoy shooting big stompy robots with other big stompy robots and eventually get a new big stompy robot to then shoot other big stompy robots with.

Because that is how successful F2P games function.

Mechwarrior 4 Mercenaries. I didn't get the full 'buy' amount of CBills for a component when I sold it. It works in single player games with an economy too. Can't sell a potion in Final Fantasy for the same amount I buy it.

What the hell does that have to do with how F2P games making money?

MWO is large transactions for a small amount of in-game content. Successful F2P games(Eve, WoT, LoL, DoTa) are the opposite. Eve and WoT being on the higher end of small transactions.
