here is the #1 issue... If PGI would find a way to allow for all players to use their mechs (Clan ans IS mechs) without Mercs having to take contacts from the Clans... just to use our Clan mechs, than PGI could have made it so that Mercs only take contracts with IS factions and Clan loyalists only jump between Clans when wanted.

PGI stuck their own foot in it by releasing the Clans as they did but trying to control who can and cant use what mechs "because they want to try and keep to lore" that Clan mechs should only be used on the side of Clans right now. OK fine, if thats what they wanted and are keeping to lore on that aspect, as pointed out by others, Mercs should never be allowed to fight for Clans and Clans should never give contracts to any IS Mercs. They want to keep to the lore in one fashion but break in in another lol.

We need a dedicated salvage system so IS pilots can start earning salvage points to unlock and use their own Clan mechs in CW and the same with Clan players that might want to salvage and use IS mechs in CW.

Something must be done here. It can not be, that organisations occur a cease fire in false flag operations. PGI?

If you drop the tech restriction, the CW just becomes another general queue mode. The division in tech is a distinguishing feature of CW.

With that said, during the lead up to CW, it became apparent from the player base that being locked out of using in-game items bought with real life cash was not all that feasible. the current contract system is a compromise between switching factions on a daily basis (which would dilute the epicness of CW) and being locked with a faction for extended periods of time or permanent (which would have drastically reduced the player base)

PGI just build the theater, but we're the actors on the stage. And its an improv show.

no faction can truly have a cease fire with the way PGI has CW working. Until players and units have a way to salvage mechs or at least get salvage points they can use to unlock all mechs for CW, and we have Clan loyalists and Mercs that can openly take contracts with anyone and attack anyone (even when the faction's main player base/units) are in agreement on a cease fire... there will never be a true cease fire.

Units like MS and CI have more than proven that they will attack who they want when they want regardless of who says there is a cease fire. And we will never be able to keep the pugs in order. They drop and attack whoever has planets open... because they want to play. And we cant hate on them for that either.

i understand that but as time progress, we should have a way to unlock and be able to use each others tech/mechs. In war, tech falls into the enemy hands, salvage is gained, tech is traded and so on. It can be a very slow process where we could grind to get to unlock and use the other's tech but it needs to happen at some point. A lot of merc units are only taking contracts with clan factions because those players bought Clan mechs and want to use them. And if they had a way to slowly gain salvage to unlock them to be used and not have to play with the Clans, a lot of them would stay IS and the Clans would have more IS players to fight lol.

I personally love Clan mechs but have no real desire to play Clan. Yet here (I) am with a GB logo on my avatar because I wanted to play with my Clan mechs i spent real money on lol. Yet I'm trying to be respectful to the Clan cease fire and not attacking other clans because I dont want GB to look like they are the aggressor. Yet that leaves me stuck attacking FRR and or Kurita which leaves a nasty taste in my mouth, having to attack them from the sides of the Clans just because I want to use my Clan mechs.

Im a merc and will attack whoever my contract holder asks me to, But I should be doing it from the side of the IS and still be able to acquire salvage of any kind, no matter who I fight. That includes Clan Salvage.

In war, yes. In games, not so much. WoW doesn't have horde items in the hands of the alliance. In Battlefield, the US do not run around with AK-47s, and vice versa.

thats not a good excuse on why we all cant have a system that allows for tech/mechs to slowly trickle over in the way of salvage. I dont care how those other games do their content or lack of content switching. But salvage has always been a staple of MW and it should be here as well.

Tis true. Some of the prior MW games had great cross tech salvage. But then again, others like MW1 & MW2 did not. So there is precedence for a MW game not to include salvage.

but it's still a bad system... with the pace of CW and the relative uselessness of loyalty points to mercs, switching from week to week just to troll the community(or more likely single group or individual) from another faction is easy for merc groups.

It comes back to the 'LET US MAKE CLAN/IS ALTER EGOS DAMMNIT' arguments

yeah I guess. But like I said, i understand why we dont have it now. And im not asking for it all at once but once CW is out of beta and things really kick into full gear, PGI need to adopt a salvage system to allow for tech and mechs to start crossing over. It would be a gradual slow way to even out the sides and calm all this IS vs Clan OP crap. If both sides have a way to start fielding each others tech in small amounts, leading up to the point of full integration. More people would stop all the QQ if each side had opportunities to match up against each other with each other's tech and mechs.

Actually that is not accurate. I have BF3 & the US can have the AK-47 & the Russians can have the M-16. It gets unlocked after a certain number of kills in the Assault class.

Ah, thank you for the update. BF2 was the last one I really got into.

Now imagine BF1942 allowing American troops to field Panzers against the enemies. Would if feel right? Would Clans fielding IS mechs feel right?

If you want the Clan tech, wait for the canon timeline to catch up to when Clan tech was common in the IS... about a year or 3 wasn't it? 3051?

Clan tech was never "common" in Inner Sphere units until the scourge that is called "Dark Ages" hit Battletech. Before Tukayyid every bit of Clan Tech salvage was gathered up by the houses for research purposes, it was not until around 3060 that you could see some higher profile IS units fielding clan equipment/mechs. Except for Mary Sues...erm, Wolfs Dragoons of course.

ohhhhhhh yes. You realize that you can walk over the gate at alpha @ Sulfurous Rift correct?

EDIT: I thought you had us on Twitch

I got a video recording of Bmetranger's All chat messages claiming that Russ was watching his twitch and that 'Russ doesn't like these pings he's seeing at all.' (LMAO!!! As if anyone has anything to do with a person's ping in this game other than the person themselves and their internet provider/routing to the game servers) also that 'Russ is banning CI in a month.'

Bmetranger must both be a new player and never have paid attention to the EULA I'm guessing. If I send PGI this video and he wasn't telling the truth about what 'Russ said on this twitch.' He could very well find himself banned from the game. PGI has made it very clear that is how they deal with those misrepresenting themselves as PGI or misrepreseting PGI in a way like this.

**Additionally can you imagine the business aspect blunder of banning hundreds players because of some butthurt in a pvp game? LMAO kids.**

But i guess that would be the BF counterpart of MWO's public queque: you can use whatever you want regardless of your faction. If there was a persistent conquest mode with faction restrictions in BF games (which would be REALLY cool) it would be CW's counterpart.

I talked about unlocking mechs in my draft proposal way back in the day. Not sure how it would hold up seeing as they were made available for cash.

the constant merc excuse of " i want to use all my toys and will not accept any rules be imposed about it!" is a great example of the insufferably self-important attitude of people with too much stuff and too few problems, have some personal accountability.

You appear as if you are nothing but a spoiled child demanding you get to use the Proton units while playing as a Terran, grow some brass, pick a side and stop trying to have your cake and eat it too, it is unseemly.

CI wasn't the main attack force.
