No, there is EVERYTHING wrong with the 9S. You might notice no clan emblem here? Actually read the relevant parts of the thread. It's returning us to a one mech, one build, all the time meta. IDK, maybe you don't play CW? ; so you don't see it as much in 3x4 drops.

Of course, those who are part of the problem, seldom want to admit there is a problem.

the fact that a large percentage of those complaining about the 9S ARE WEARING IS FACTION TAGS, should be the relevant point here, anyhow.

Actually, I think you touched on it in one of your previous 100 posts on this thread. There is a problem for sure. But nerfing 1 IS mech back down is not the solution. Someone said it the other day, take the quirks back out and modify the over powered mech's to a more leveled state.

That's because you have your other "secret" account that you play clan mechs on.

Jeebus. Boating? It's THREE ERPPC's! Are we going to call a 4-ML Jenner boating now? How about a Spider with 3 medium pulse lasers? There are so many boats it's a wonder we're in mechs...they don't FLOAT.

On their own a couple 9S's aren't a big deal. Bring 12 and the amount of ERPPC fire they are able to sustain due to their insanely high cooldown quirk is kind of nuts. Not only nuts, but boring.

Tone down the percentages, just like they toned down the Thunderwub 5SS quirks. I'll be happy to see the 9S backed down to 'a good addition for a long range option' to dropdecks instead of its current place of "I AM THUNDERZILLA. I SPIT BLUE FIRE ALL DAY E'RY DAY!"

I don't take them, and I kill them just fine...but when they're TOO effective and become a no-brainer choice for every pilot who can manage neither heat nor ammo, it turns things pretty stale.

YOu just described every meta mech in the game, called clans.

The current meta is and always will be 3-4 mechs.(and always has been) It's called Timberwolf, Direwolf, Stormcrow. That's why all the competitive units are clan. And I know you have a clan account. And I do play CW, know what else I see? Timberwolf, Stormcrow, Direwolf, over and over. The 9S is the ONLY IS mech that can fight at range with the clans, clan weapons out range everything else. Except GR, so cry more. If you want the 9S nerfed, then the clan tier 1 mechs should be nerfed too.

If only there was a range module for an IS ERLL that would increase it's range to 742.5m to compete with the Clan ER-LL 740m range at a bonus of being cooler and of shorter duration.

If only there was a chassis that allowed you to take them alongside Gauss Rifles, like the King Crab, or a Jagermech, or a Cataphract, or a Highlander, or a Victor, or a Hunchback or an etc...etc...etc...

There ARE other options to fight clans at range. Some of us even USE them. The IS doesn't need an overquirked Thunderbolt. I think a well-quirked one is totally fitting though. The 9S just got a little too much juice compared to EVERYTHING else.

At least I see multiple chassis with different strengths and weaknesses :) The clan loadout homogeneity is a separate discussion...and they DO pay a heat and duration price for that self-same vomit.

if you bought a mech because you knew the thing was OP and broken, then you don't deserve any sympathy when it gets nerfed.

In which case EVERY earl adopting Clan player deserves no sympathy as that is precisely why they shelled out money for those packages.

... all the crying ... IS cry Timbers and Crows Op and Clan cry IS Quirkmechs are OP... srly both have "advantages" but also both have downsides.
The new Mechboating from 8-12 Group drops are the Problem.
Im a little more on the Clan side because quirked mechs gets more advantage if they boat Mechs.

Stats talk for themself:
Clan ErPPC 15 Heat vs IS Thunderbolt Quirk ErPPCs 7,5 Heat
Rangebuff makes them equal to Clan = 810
Then they get also a 15% Velocity buff and 25% Cooldown buff
IS Quirks dont Balance a Weapon against Clans, they make it better then Clanstuff.
I tryed the Thundebolt in non CW Matches with my Unit... DAMN this thing makes FUN! You can nearly vomit ErPPCs.

A Thunderbolt alone with this quirks? No Problem at all. I can brawl it with the Clan Heavys. But more of them ... ouchtime

Some Matches ago we droped against a team that used 8 Thunderbolts (4xErppcs) 2 Wubverines (3-4 LPL) and 2 DDC Atlas in the first Wave.
We had around 6 Timbers and 4 Crows 1 Hellbringer 1 Warhawk
.... they just camped the Gates (As CounterAttacker...) and killed everything that got near the Gates (No Clanmech can realy deal with 8+ ERPPC Hits in 3 Sec.) even a push of 10 Clanmechs got stomped in some seconds. The push was a bad idea because they used the downtime and pushed hard and nearly killed omega.
We got back in position... and guess what ... thunderbolts again ...
We could hold them back with ... no fighting at all... just wait until they come in. Then they just rushed in dealed some dmg and died ... "wtf was that?"
But then ... 10 Firestarter Rush ... Game Over...

L2P? not realy. They just had an extrem amount of Er PPCs with same Range but 50% less heat and better Velocity and Cooldown and its only possible with the Quirks and no Class Restriction.
(and plz dont say counter it with your clanlaservomiting .... that just doesnt work)

So all in all, even 3 Thunderbolts with ERPPCs are not Gamebreaking, but 8 or more of them.
And no, not only the Thunderboltboating also Wubverines are incredible in mass. (50% more range = nearly equal to Clan + 25% less heat = Clan 10 vs 5,25 + 25% less cooldown on LPLs)

*ps.: Thunderbolts can alpha 4 Erppcs on Forrest Colony

We dont need more Nerfs, we need Class Restriction while we Drop in CW... and no i dont know how with the current 4 Mech dropsystem.

Just my 2 Cent

Yeah, soon as a clan player uses that same module, it's back to being outranged. So ppc's should jsut never be usable? No mech should specialize in PPCs? Like the awesome is supposed to.. Why not just remove them from the game completely then. PPC's are one of the most broken weapons in the game right now.(and half the time they don't even register damage)

yes, I do. And this is my primary account. What does it mean? I have seen both sides of CW, and probably cna comment on it more intelligently than you, atm.

I guess we have seen nothing yet. Wait until all the slowpokes realize why there are so many 9S atm.

But i love how those quirks were done PGI style

"Hey, PPCs are the meta for 2 years now, nerfhammer them"
-> PPCs nerfnuked
"OK what quirks do we give this mech?"
"What about quirks that make ERPPCs on him better than prenerf PPCs?"
"Good idea"
...
...
"Damn where are all those ERPPCs coming from?"

No, actually. I said they should be good...but not OP to the point they're currently at. I think the heat reduction quirk is too high. There's literally no danger of overheating unless you have the IQ of a gnat. I also find it hilarious that the AWS, which is supposed to be Pappa PPC is hideously outclassed at its own game.

I see the QQ'ing about the only IS mech capable of standing on near equal ground with the Clan Timber is still in full swing.

It's terrible to see 9s after 9s with ERPPC's but it's perfectly okay to see vomitcrow after vomitcrow or streakcrow after streakcrow and metawolf after metawolf because CLAN.

Give me a break...............

Let the clans remove hard locked components or change engines so they can actually use the tonnage efficiently and you'd see different builds than laser vomit, as it is energy slots are plentiful and free tonnage is light...so lasers be the most efficient use of tonnage.

I mean they could fix the glaring problems with other clan chassis like the adder, summoner, warhawk (to a lesser extent) but...well...that'll be next year some time.

and I never said they did. I'm the first one to say that instead of Russ's "Buff everything" approach, or Paul's "Nerf everything" approach, that there are certain mechs that need to be nerfed. And the TW is certainly one of them. Stormcrow, on the edge. Might could use some very minor nerfs, but it's nowhere near the power gap between it and top tier IS MEdiums as the TW has between everything else....but the 9S.

But I do understand how objectively looking at the big picture is hard for some folk.

That's funny...since on the whole, the 9S is winning that trade.

Varience in builds and styles is what keeps this game fun.

MECH WARRIOR ERPPCS BATTLES is really just not fun.

Thats your and ONLY your opinion...

Everyone else seems to enjoy them and uses them. Brings the TDR back into a good spot. But you say all your see is ERPPC's but the Thunderwub is a widely used mech and i see the Large and Large Pulse variants fairly often too.

Can i ask why? You say its no fun but you play Clans so why do you care? You dont cant even use them in CW?

Because you lose against them? They are fine and a decent mech in the IS arsenal.

I'm guessing you've never run a quirked 3 ERPPC Thud on the Sulfur map..........because IQ or not, you are going to overheat, especially when the Crows breach the gates and start eating up your generators and you're doing all you can to leg at least one before you die.

I have, actually. I've played the 9S on both maps...and while it's effective, there are other mechs I enjoy more. If you're overheating you are likely activating ghost heat via your alpha. 2 and 1 on Sulphur, man. 2 and 1. You can keep that up for a VERY long time.

And it's STILL cooler-running than everything else by comparison with a similar loadout.
