Then they just allow people to purchase founder again for a limited time.

This would give a new definition to "founder".

Maybe Founders should get MC for each package they purchase since they are switching to that model.
Gold: 5K
Silver 3K
Bronze 1K

Then they just allow people to purchase founder again for a limited time.

I like the first idea, it would be a nice bonus for Founders. But the Founder packages shouldn't ever be made available again, a part of the deal is the exclusivity of it, the same with Phoenix, Invasion etc. I'm sad I missed out on being a Founder (didn't know about this game until about a year after) but it wouldn't be right to make it purchasable again.

Don't feel that way. I love flounders. Plenty of seafood in game these days now that they all came back

You missed my second post where I suggested bumping any current founders to platnium founders giving them 8K MC per package purchase. Then just making bronze, silver, and gold founder become members instead. So you purchase gold membership and get a very different forum badge and the MC rewards, but not the founder mechs. Founders can keep the mechs honestly, they bad.

Unlike most of you $120 Founder guys, I paid $60 for my Catapult + Premium time + MC. Considering the number of hours I've dropped into MWO, I'd say it's well-spent. I'm really glad I didn't pay twice as much for the other three mechs though. Even now I've never really wanted to be a Jenner, Hunchie, or Atlas pilot. However, the Catapult is still one of my favorite mechs to take out. Now, if only I could put a different camo pattern on her.

I got the same mech package and I feel exactly the same.

Honestly if you want to be sorta what a founder is, just buy the mech packs and you are pretty much in line with what it is.

hey, my old Pilot Name is in the credits... I still have enough mechbay's I'll probably never use em, and I've used all my premium time... PLUS. I use ALL my Founders mechs all the time.

Honestly my only real complaint, is that PGI limited CW 10 tons too low, so I can't run a full founders drop deck.

I think it's nice the founders continue to get nods in the form of hanging items and other cockpit stuff in each pack. But I don't think it's necessary to add in a MC multiplier or anything.

I mean it would be fantastic to have it, but it's not like PGI owes us.

I would absolutely love exclusive founders skins for new packs though, kinda like the faction packs, but for people who own founders.

I got my name in the credits of a series I've been playing since I was 18, I got to help fund the development of a game I enjoy playing, and I got to influence the open beta launch. So I'm happy with what I got.

I'm not complaining. Just saying that missing out on being a Founder isn't really a big deal.

Funny enough, I just found out yesterday how to add my name to the credits. :P

Well, at least we had the chance to play MWO before it stopped being fun and looked and felt way better than today - it was worth the money IMO ;)

Yeah, but I was actually in the Closed Beta before I bought my pack, so I didn't get that perk. ;)

No, but other than bonus MC it was the worst of all the bundles sold. Every deal since has included WAY more mechs- for 120 I got 4 mechs, with the Clan deal for 120 you could get 12 mechs. For 110 you could have gotten Overlord with the expansion for 24 mechs. All with premium time and goodies as well.

This is exactly why I never did the Founders(even though I signed up on the forums back in 2012).... it was a complete rip off...... I am grateful to the people that did give Russ and Paul new Lamborghinis though.....without those vehicles I doubt they would daily drive to their office and make their 7 employees work 24/7 to get the game up and going...

Thanks all you MechWarriors for the response and I do appreciate your time givving your thoughts on this. Hopefully the game will evolve like it has from tabletop to this game so that we can enjhoy it for many years to come.

Aloha & Thank You!

Dont forget that founders were given immediate access into the closed beta, allowing them to experience the game (albiet a very different game back then) and possibly help shape it.

Aside from the different geometry of the mechs, and the infusion of MC, you can do better today with bundles, or MC/CBill purchases.

I dont regret buying the founders pack. But I dont think it should be made available again either.

No. No they should not. Our money got the game started. Had we not paid up front there may not have been any other "packages" for others to buy.

You don't consider not having to play trial mechs a perk?

The Founders pack is done. Don't re-release it. It is a package that has come and gone. Reopening it would invalidate our tags IMO.

I will say this though. If PGI reissued the Founders mechs in a new package, I wouldn't be as hurt about that. It would need to have different camo though and carry a different tag. I suppose it could keep the unique model geometry (like the C1 "beak"). Basically though, it would be standard variants with the C-Bill boost.

Thing is, I don't think you would get many takers. Don't get me wrong, I like the Hunchback 4G and Catapult C1 (The Atlas and Jenner are fine too), but they aren't exactly considered hot performers. The Hunch has new life in it and the Jenner was always descent, but the Catapult and Atlas doesn't exactly set the world on fire anymore.

I just want knockdown back.... like really really bad.

It really made fast moving mech pilots be... well, good pilots. If you werent, you'd get knocked down, and shot up.

on the flip side, Dragon tackling and jenner bowling was halarious... but that was when we only had 6 mechs total, with a whole new roster of heavy assaults, i dont see tackling being an issue anymore

Just wondering if it is possible to purchase as a founder will ever be available! Started my account since day one, but got deployed for 16 months and only started playing MWO for the last 2 months! LoL!!

Just interested in getting the badge. I have been a CBT player for year's and just wanted to show my support of the game.

Thanks
/salute and welcome back.

If you're interested in supporting the game then there are still the clan packages and the resistance package available, which will also give you a badge of another kind. But as far as founders go, I've never seen founders packages go for sale once the game is released with any game. It would create quite an uprising if someone (even one) was able to get a founders package again haha.

Sorry! :(

The best you could do is see if a founder is selling their account (which is sketchy in every way possible) and then ask Support to change your name... but definately not recommended unless you really ache for that founders tag.

The Founders catapult with:
(x4) Med. Pulse
(x2) SRM4 + Artemis
does quite a bit of damage...

So much that I didn't expect to see 742 at the end of the match...
It's a warm build, but that's why you have
two pulses in weapon group 1
two pulses in weapon group 2
and the srms in weapon group 3

give it a go, see how you like it. :)

They're still good mechs, but the reason they're not as good is because there's more mechs in general. It was either the catapult or the dragon... and the awesome or the atlas.... not much competition there haha so it's no wonder they felt superior.

I might try that.

My only concern is that it is a bit shorter range than I would like. The structure quirks do give it a bit more durability than many give it credit for, however it still isn't tanky enough for such a short range...for my style anyway.

I do like my mini-madcat style. I run 2 LLasers, 2 MLasers, 2 LRM10s with 3 tons ammo. It carries 2JJs and I think an XL300 (might be 295 or 305). The LLasers and LRM10s give it some stand-off performance and the LLasers with MLasers allow for some good mid to short range performance. You can go ERLLasers instead of LLasers, but it is a bit hot already, so I find the cooler LLasers are better.
