Due to unexpected high personal OPTEMPO, FRAGO 008 to OPORD 012-015 (27JAN3050) remains in effect for 28JAN3050 and 29JAN3050: http://mwomercs.com/...ost__p__4142613

Please use the cited CW API Trackers for planetary objective information.

I intend to publish a new OPORD (013) for 30JAN3050. It will encapsulate all recent changes and adjustments to CW as well as updated MISSION STATEMENT.

My apologizes for any inconvenience.

SITUATION: House Kurita and the DCMS currently constitute the primary threat to CSJ.

Since the 20JAN patch, CSJ has successfully liberated 23 of the 25 Kurita and Rasalhague planets identified for Smoke Jaguar liberation operations. Increasingly the use of Inner Sphere Common Defenses have become problematic for CSJ's advance to Terra.

FOUR large-scale Counterattacks were of note:

1. on 27JAN3050 at 2349hrsEST - During the last 90-minutes of the NA-cycle, Inner Sphere Mercenary Alliance (ISMA) four 12-man teams (MERCSTAR, MS(Clan Kodiak), ACES) speed dropped on the Smoke Jaguar world of Polcenigo, Ghost Dropping their way to a very quick 43% (http://mwomercs.com/...ost__p__4142650). this link provides a summary of the entire ISMA duplicitous attack on Polcenigo.

2. The Kurita attack on the Smoke Jaguar planet of Chatham was particularly effective (http://mwomercs.com/...ost__p__4130839).

3. Equally impressive was an attempt by a 12-man from Liao (APOC) and a 12-man Marik Faction Drop to counterattack in defense of the Kurite world of Tarazed (SECURED after action report available at: http://smokealliance.com)

4. On 27JAN3050, House Kurita spearheaded an immensely successful Inner Sphere Common Defense Counterattack effort on the Kurita planet of MacAlister. After completing a second consecutive match against a 10-man REX team from House Steiner, our Faction Dropping band of Jaguars saw that the Ceasefire had already fallen and was at the 36-minute mark. CSJ was winning the effort against the Combine at this point with a 9 of 15 sectors liberated thus 60%. However just minutes later the final tally fell to just 3 sectors in CSJ control thus 20%. It is estimated that at least 2 to 3 of the sectors lost to the final stage of this Counterattack was due to Ghost Drops. This performance by Kurita was by far (IMO) the most successful counterattack of any Inner Sphere Faction against a CSJ liberation objective.

Much respect and honor to House Kurita's DCMS for leading a Inner Sphere Common Defence force in relief of besieged Combine forces on the Kurita planet of MacAlister... but we learn from our setbacks, unlike the Smoke Jaguars of Lore and will be ready for future such Counterattacks.

MISSION: Smoke Jaguar (inclusive of Smoke Jaguar-contracted Mercenary Corps Units and Clan defensive contributions) continues to defend all CSJ worlds from Inner Sphere predation while prioritizing ALL EFFORTS toward attacks along the axis of advance toward Terra, in order to best position Smoke Jaguar to be the Clan that liberates Terra (though not necessarily the Clan that first reaches Terra - an important distinct exists here. Reaching Terra but having lost so many worlds in the rear areas as to have been cut off from your Inner Sphere Base of Supply (Richmond for CSJ) should sufficiently weaken a Clan so as to make it well-nigh impossible to capture Terra. Unfortunately it is unknown at this time if PGI "Logistics" MWO CW game mechanisms will have impact on a Clan's ability to liberate Terra or if there will be any CW event that would constitute a "Battle of Terra" a series of 100, First-in-First-out 12 v 12's of Solos and Units for example, would be one possible mechanism to put the fate of Terra in the hands of MWO CW gamers. Some measure of both: a logistics impact and a #FinalBattle would greatly enhance the CW experience.)

EXECUTION: Enemy Center of Gravity remains House Kurita Front Line Units, particularly NS, 36th, AVGR, 11th and 9th. Priorities of effort are the defenses of CSJ worlds directly in the vanguard of CSJ's advance to liberate Terra, followed by the liberation of new Kurita worlds from Inner Sphere tyranny, with CSJ "Priorities of Effort" complete once an CSJ "all-hands" transition in support of Clan Common Defense to Clan Ghost Bear, Wolf and Jade Falcon defensive efforts.

ADMINISTRATION/LOGISTICS: Clan Smoke Jaguar efforts at coordination are best represented by the Clan Smoke Jaguar Invasion Corridor website at http://www.SmokeAlliance.com . Smoke Jaguar units and affiliated (or soon-to-be-affiliated) Mercenary Units should have their Leaders and designated representatives apply for access to this resource. Additionally, this thread will remain active until tonight's Ceasefire to provide UNSECURED assessment and battle tracking. SECURED assessments are available at the website/forum, link provided above. As a side note, and in anticipation of PGI's Logistics element for CW Phase Three, I have earmarked 100m C-bills for personal donation to a potential "Faction Reserve Bank" that in turn could be managed by the Faction (mechanics to be recommended later) to lend C-bills to financially-challenged Faction (inclusive of Mercenary) Units in order to ensure ALL Clan Smoke Jaguar Units remain solvent and can maintain offensive capabilities. It must be remembered that as of now, PGI has not yet indicated if a function like a "Faction Reserve Bank" will even be considered as a capability under CW Phase 3. However it does follow that once Units are required to pay for drops in CW, a mechanism like a "Faction Reserve Bank" could be a very useful follow-on economic enhancement in order to maximize gamer/Unit access to CW.)

COMAND AND CONTROL: An excellent resource to foster and maintain MWO CW Situational Awareness is: https://mrbcleague.com/cw/index.html - MRBC's Reddit resource "Data Resources for Community Warfare" takes available API data and provides running graphic depictions of each day's results as well as a bar chart by Unit of which Unit has tagged the most planets. Much historical research and derivative intelligence and assessment is possible with the depth and variety of data provided at this MRBC Reddit site. The following link has also proven to provide exceptionally accurate and timely information, when it has come to tracking planetary control: http://thesilentseventh.enjin.com/CW .

This thread provides a point-from-which-to-deviate, with all current Unit orders remaining in effect. In-game chat as well as common TeamSpeak servers may be used to lift and shift combat focus throughout the day as required. http://www.smokealliance.com and Smoke Jaguar Leadership CW coordination forum threads and message chains will continue and are expected to take this base plan for what it is worth - my contribution to generate a common narrative to inform CSJ MWO forum readers of a general intent and purpose to the day's CW activity. It is expected that this product will be refined to take best advantage of evolving combat opportunities across Clan Space.

BRANCH PLAN ONE - Rendered unnecessary as a direct result of continuous CGB, CSJ and select CSJ Mercenary Corps Unit Senior-level collaboration in support of OPN CLAN UNITY (http://mwomercs.com/...ion-clan-unity/)

BRANCH PLAN TWO - On order lift and shift one or more 12-man Comp Team to conduct Zellbrigin against one or more Comp Teams from House Kurita on any threatened Smoke Jaguar world. One v ones, Lance on Lance or 12 v 12 Combats should be expected. Records should be taken by both sides with results posted in this thread tonight if made available to me by midnight EST.

- All constructive comments are welcome as I intend to continue with this effort and would like for this thread to be of value to the developing Smoke Jaguar Narrative within the greater context of the MWO CW Beta effort by PGI.

I expect the 228th would be eager to bid into honor-combat (mostly because we like combat of any variety). We prefer payment in C-Bills ("The sinews of war are infinite money" -Marcus Tullius), though we sometimes accept salvage rights, LP, credit, or in rare cases, the pleasure of driving our enemy before us.

For information-gathering purposes, what exactly are the stakes of these matches (or are they for shits and giggles - also fun!)?

IMO "CSJ Stakes" are best determined by CSJ Unit Leadership within the Smoke Jaguar Alliance format/forums/Rede Room. With subsequent coordination with corresponding House Kurita or indeed CGB Leadership in order to ensure as smooth an effort as is possible.

I would be wiling to support a whole range of potentialities from one match (12 v 12 Faction Group of respective All-Star Teams, pushed via Twitch to myself and all the very many others who would want a front row seat to such and event) to determine the ownership of an entire world (Match winner gets to execute uncontested Ghost drops) to any structure tournament or series of 1 v 1's, 4 v 4's, etc.

Just to have ONE instance of a planet's fate decided by negotiated Faction Leadership to Faction Leadership (both INCLUSIVE OF units such as 228) would be IMO a most excellent proof of concept - not just inter-factional peace treaties but Planet/conflict resolution is also possible via measured application of respective Faction Leadership negotiation and coordination. I believe there is great value in reinforcing the inherent worth of Factional political legitimacy in this fashion.

But of PRIME importance...

At this time, I would expect (and truthfully want) 228 in the CSJ Vanguard of any such acceptance or counteroffer of Zellbrirgin from DCMS or any other Faction. In a number of my threads and posts I have been very clear on the subject of the extreme value in 228's aggregate contribution to CSJ success these past two weeks. Objectively, any current map if the Inner Sphere give mute testimony to 228's martial prowess. While 228 contributions can be measured in Planets rightfully TAG'ed as a result of superior gameplay and completely in accordance with factional contract execution/expectations, I believe one of the most important second order benefits has been your and so many of your fellow 228 gamers' interactions with CSJ Soloist and Small Group Untis.

NOTHING develops someone's MWO-gaming abilities like seeing it done right! and 228 gamers have put on weeks worth of definitive case-studies from the simple - how to take down a gate, to the more difficult - tactics permutations on successive wave iterations on Sulfurous Rift so as to best keep the defending Enemy off-balance and continually thrown onto reactionary tactics insufficient to protect the Omega. Not every Soloist / Small group appreciates the full range of 228 tutelage but after 2-weeks of continually SETTING THE STANDARD through gameplay, many of us (myself included) are all the better an MWO-gamer for having 228 (and to only a somewhat lesser degree, REM) having been in contract with CSJ.

My thanks and appreciation for this.

And of course third-order benefit is incontrovertible as well - just think of all the C-bills, experience points and Loyalty Points which CSJ Soloist and Small Groups have earned as a DIRECT RESULT of 228's participation with them in mixed queue CW drops... all these residual benefits have directly led to more Mechs, modifications and modules being able to be afforded by CSJ Soloists and Small Groups, not to mention how influential 228 is when it comes to getting gamers to try and thus fall increasingly in favor of Superior Comp Meta-builds for their own CW Mech modifications and synergistic Drop Deck design.

Now I do not mean to denigrate the contributions of ANY of the very many Mercenary Corps Units currently or previously (and perhaps once again in the future) under CSJ contract - ALL have clearly contributed to CSJ in similar fashion. ALL such Primary, Second and Third order benefits are deeply appreciated by many not just myself. But after fair and impartial analysis, I find 228's aggregate contributions to be exceptional noteworthy and deserving of a clear expression of appreciation and thanks.

But back on topic, unfortunately no such idea of Zellbrigin-to-determined-world (or perhaps Sector) ownership (irregardless of who is the attacker or who is defender) has gained any traction to date. Perhaps this will change at some point for a single world or so, but for right now, Zellbrigin remains an "On Order" possibility though not very likely to be executed any time soon.

I apologize for (and cannot see to help) my predilection for building #WallsOfText!

I would greatly appreciate any contributions toward this portion of the OPORD post above.

One Hundred Matches seems appropriately INCLUSIVE enough to provide opportunities for quite a few faction gamers to participate at least once if not multiple times in such an EPIC event as a Battle for Terra

But I am sure there are better ways to structure an inclusive event that if PGI refused to permit a #FallOfTerra then we, gamers can take It upon ourselves to structure an extra-PGI resolution of Terra's fate.

Similarly CGB can coordinate with FRR to schedule a Battle of Rasalhague (on a mutually-acceptable surrogate world) to determine the fate of Rasalhague's Capital world. And of course House Kurita and CSJ could follow suit for the fate of Luthien.

Each of these three potentially Epic Battles to decide the fate of a Major World could have their "Finals" matches broadcast via multiple Twitch streams... I would LOVE to tune in to TheB33f's broadcast of just such a "Finals" match!

Anyhow....

What are your thoughts (and indeed anyone's thoughts) on how to better structure such an inclusive means of Major World conflict resolution. I would suggest these events could be iterative each month though as the world in question would be the objective of repeated attempts to both "liberate" or to "finally reduce" each Planet for their respective Factions.

Thus even if one Faction or the other "wins" one iteration of Battles for Rasalhague or Luthien, in 30-days time a subsequent Battle could stile be fought.

Terra is another matter however. Clan dominion over Terra would in large measure culminate the Clan Invasion of the Inner Sphere. I would then suggest that each of the Clans peel off and the algorithm be modified to support Clan Invasion progression toward all remaining Inner Sphere House capital worlds (New Avalon, Tharkad' etc)

Who knows when Beta will end, I say we take advantage of it and push on throughout the Inner Sphere.

What say you? How could this be done better?

Due to sinking too much time into post 164 (http://mwomercs.com/...ost__p__4152490) above, watching the American Football Superbowl and fending off DCMS attacks on Kilmarnock, I have been unable t post a half completed FRAGO 001 to OPORD 15-013.

OPORD 15-013 (http://mwomercs.com/...ost__p__4151729) remains in effect, pending FRAGO 001's release tomorrow.

Please use the cited CW API Trackers (https://mrbcleague.com/cw/index.html) for planetary objective information.

My apologizes for any inconvenience.

SITUATION: Since the 20JAN patch, CSJ has successfully liberated 27 of the 31 Kurita and Rasalhague planets identified for Smoke Jaguar liberation operations.

Five large-scale Counterattacks against CSJ interests are of particular note:

1. on 27JAN3050 at 2349hrsEST - During the last 90-minutes of the NA-cycle, Inner Sphere Mercenary Alliance (ISMA) four 12-man teams (MERCSTAR, MS(Clan Kodiak), ACES) speed dropped on the Smoke Jaguar world of Polcenigo, Ghost Dropping their way to a very quick 43% (http://mwomercs.com/...ost__p__4142650). this link provides a summary of the entire ISMA duplicitous attack on Polcenigo.

This performance by Kurita was by far (IMO) the most successful counterattack of any Inner Sphere Faction against a CSJ liberation objective.

5. A fifth Counterattack occurred yesterday (01FEB) as robust and resurgent DCMS BOTH defended Keisen AND led a dangerous and vigorous attack on the Clan Smoke Jaguar world of Kilmarnock. Through fate, lucky timing and a robust Clan Common Defense contribution, CSJ was able to just barely fend off both multiple Kurita 12-man spearheads. Many an exciting and highly enjoyable match was shared with HK Units yesterday. I thank all those who gamed and all those who would have gamed if time (and the American Football Suoerbowl would have permitted!)

Much respect and honor to House Kurita's DCMS for leading a Inner Sphere Common Defence force in relief of besieged Combine forces on the Kurita planets... but we learn from our setbacks, unlike the Smoke Jaguars of Lore and will be ready for future such Counterattacks.

02FEB - OCEANIC CEASEFIRE WINDOW: Great effort by all Smoke Jaguars who contributed to the liberation of the House Kurita world of Chandler this morning (EST), The initial push on Chandler liberated 15 of 15-sectors just 3 and a half hours into the Oceanic Ceasefire Cycle.

02FEB - EUROPEAN CEASEFIRE WINDOW: House Kurita has proven consistently that DCMS forces have a decisive numeric superiority during this particular CW-cycle. It is currently two-hours into this cycle and not a single sector remains under CSJ control. Historically it has been the second half of the Euro-cycle wheee the Jaguar begins to flex it's might. More to follow as the situation develops.

24JAN - NORTH AMERICAN CEASEFIRE WINDOW: It is assessed that the Kuita world, Numki will remain CSJ's objective under the NA-cycle if not successfully liberated during the Euro-cycle. There is no reporting to indicate the Combine is planning another Counteroffensive on the scale of OPN WYVERN (as was conducted in defense of McAlister), however every CSJ Unit should maintain close situational awareness of the CW map and as they may choose; rejoin CW and aid in the defense of whichever CSJ world is imperiled.

Some measure of both: a logistics impact and a #FinalBattle would greatly enhance the CW experience.)

EXECUTION: Remains UNCHANGED with the one exceptions:
1. The current Smoke Jaguar liberation primary objective is the Kurita planet of Numki.

ADMINISTRATION/LOGISTICS: NO CHANGE

COMAND AND CONTROL: NO CHANGE Caveat: this thread remains my contribution to generate a common narrative to inform CSJ MWO forum readers of a general intent and purpose to the day's CW activity. It is expected that this product will be refined to take best advantage of evolving combat opportunities across Clan Space.[/i]

BRANCH PLAN ONE - CANCELLED

BRANCH PLAN TWO - NO CHANGE

BATTLE TRACKING LOG

0912hrsEST - Repeated attempts to jumpstarting the CSJ liberation of the Kurita world of Numki have proven unsuccessful. While I can only add my lone "pilot receiving orders" to this planet's tally, I am deeply appreciative of the four other Smoke Jaguars that for a time have joined me in this queue. Hopefully more CSJ gamers will join us shortly... I hesitate to add this, but I am 800 and some odd Loyalty Points from 20th level and I would dearly like to gain that level in a CSJ Liberation effort rather than an equally honorable Clan Common Defense effort... nothing against either type of mission, just "Liberation" best characterizes the focus of my participation in MWO CW. More to follow on this topic as well...

2134hrsEST - with the Kurita planet of Najha liberated completely, CW options for CSJ gamers remains sparse. As a side note, I did indeed gain 20th level during a CSJ liberation effort in Najha's second sector, a great and enjoyable moment, made all the more memorable with screen shots and having shared the drop with a variety of early day friends and fellow MWO gamers. Thank you one and all who participated in the more than 900-matches it took for me to reach 20th level. Thanks also to all the many Inner Sphere gamers who choose to game each day.

BREAK BREAK BREAK

Unexpectedly the current Oceanic-cycle has seen Turkayyid selected as the Clan Smoke Jaguar FRR Liberation Objective: http://www.sarna.net/wiki/Tukayyid

Site of the climactic and pivotal Battle of Tukayyid (http://www.sarna.net...tle_of_Tukayyid),

Lore would have you believe:
"...conflict on this planet was a turning point during the Clan Invasion of the Inner Sphere. After the Com Guards defeated a combined force of the Clans, the Truce of Tukayyid forbade the Clans from advancing past the planet Tukayyid for the next fifteen years. The battle began on May 1, 3052 and ended May 20, 3052."

Tonight, Lore has been replaced with:
"...conflict on this planet was a turning point during the Clan Invasion of the Inner Sphere. No Com Guards Package was released by PGI. Hastily raised FRR and Inner Sphere Common Defenders are currently hotly engaged with Vanguard elements of Clan Smoke Jaguar. There shall be no Truce of Tukayyid this time around. There will be no fifteen years hiatus to the Drive on Terra. The Battle for Tukayyid begins tonight, February 3, 3052 and ends in 8-hours."

SITUATION: Since the 20JAN patch, CSJ has successfully liberated 37 of the 40 Kurita and Rasalhague planets identified for Smoke Jaguar liberation operations.

Special emphasis needs to be placed on distilling Unit Lessons Learned from case studies of the five large scale Counterattacks performed against CSJ Interests. The more Units, having better situational awareness of the hallmarks of a Major Counterattack from the telltale signs of a minor diversionary Enemy effort to disrupt a peaceful and needed CSJ finite combat resources.

02FEB - OCEANIC CEASEFIRE WINDOW: Great effort by all Smoke Jaguars who contributed to the liberation of the House Kurita world of Otho this morning (EST), The initial push on Otho liberated 15 of 15-sectors just 4 and a half hours into the Oceanic Ceasefire Cycle.

02FEB - EUROPEAN CEASEFIRE WINDOW: House Kurita has proven consistently that DCMS forces have a decisive numeric superiority during this particular CW-cycle. It is currently one-hour into this cycle and not a single sector remains under CSJ control. Historically it has been the second half of the Euro-cycle wheee the Jaguar begins to flex it's might. More to follow as the situation develops. This dynamic appears to be largely I place despite the Battle that JUST kicked off against House Kurita.

24JAN - NORTH AMERICAN CEASEFIRE WINDOW: It is assessed that the Kuita world identified for liberation under the Euro-Cycle will remain CSJ's objective under the NA-cycle if not successfully liberated during the Euro-cycle.

EXECUTION: Remains UNCHANGED with the one exceptions:
1. The current Smoke Jaguar liberation primary objective is the Kurita planet of Aix-la-Chappelle..

1043hrsEST - The first sector of Aix-la-Chappelle has been liberated just now. While Inner Sphere Common Defenders conducted a spirited defense two sectors have now fallen. However an ominous note has been struck as a 12-man TCAF team has dropped on world to assist in the largely Kurita and Davion defense of this world. Initial and incomplete reporting from the attempts to root TCAF from a Sector 3 Defense are... not encouraging.

2109hrsEST - Aix-la-Chappelle has been completely liberated. All 15-sectors are now free of Inner Sphere deprivation. While CSJ had been overmatched on this world by a numerically superior Enemy during the Euro-cycle, it took only 4.5-hours of the NA-cycle to secure this first world. Unit movement and attack zone consolidation movements are underway in order to also secure the RFF world nominated for liberation this cycle. It is expected to take 2 of the 3.5 hours remaining in order to secure the FRR world to 70% at which time it is advised that select Unit Commanders consider sending their gamers toward fellow Clan worlds imperiled. INTENT remains to prevent a single clan world from falling.

ASSESSMENT: The amount of information available in the latest version of the CW Lobby, is of extreme value to those who invest the time to parse out its importance. The Sector-Arc with it's time-based shading, bowling pin/ready-arrows, etc - can really become a GameChanger with a few more tweaks from PGI. GREAT additions to the game!

CEASEFIRE ASSESSMENT - Both a Kurita and FRR world were liberated under the NA-cycle tonight. Great matches all around. Fun, C-bills and Loyalty Points for everyone.

CEASEFIRE RECOMMENDATION - Nothing Significant To Report.

BREAK BREAK BREAK

House Kurita has engaged the 7-day services of BWC and ACES. I participated in matches against each last night.

Notes follow:

ACES / BWC Mixed Team Tactics - Sulfurous Rift AND Hellebore (same tactics for both maps. Both matches has mostly other Clans in Defence of Kilmarnock

1st Wave - Lights - Killed three gens then damaged the Omega down to 15%. Then stopped killing Omega and started killing turrets until all dead. 6-Gamma and 6-Alpha on Rift. All Beta on Hellebore.

2nd Wave - Thunderbolts (mixed) with a couple SRM Catapults and AC Centurions. NEVER touched Omega, just a 12-Mech Grind. Came in Beta on the Rift. Came in Alpha on Hellebore. Their grind was only able to achieve a 26 CSJ Kills for 24 of their Mechs. Kept grinding with the Wave until the Wave was all dead.

3rd Wave - Same basic composition of the second wave. Killed ALL remaining CSJs before taking the Omega. During this wave (not that it happened much but) it seemed that reinforcements for Enemy flowed straight into the battle. Came Beta on Rift and Alpha on Hellebore.

Excellent matches, with the damage to the Omega on the first wave, the game was ALWAYS at risk of being ended with but a few seconds of concentrated fire... that being said, ACES and BWC went far out of their way to keep the match going with CSJs killing 27-31 of ACES/BWC each match before losing.

They were fun matches and left me disappointed Inwas Solo and not with 11 of my fellow JGx'ers.

BREAK BREAK BREAK

SITUATION: House Kurita's DCMS and associated Allied Mercenary Corps Units constitute the primary threat to CSJ. It is assessed that BWC, ACES, Seraphim, CI, Templars are all on 7-day contracts with 3, 3, 3, 5, 6 days remaining respectively. It is estimated that the Combine has prioritized Marik, Davion and then CSJ as the targets of their Mercenary-fueled Attack Operations.

ASSESSMENT: By tracking DCMS operations against other inner Sphere opponents, it will be possible to assess the probability of a successful CSJ transition to LIBERATE a Kurita world. I understand this is NOT a focus for CSJ while Kurita has the luxury of such heavy Mercenary Corp Unit support, but recognition of an opportunity may present operational opportunities worthy of at least a moments consideration. Please consider that while it is ALWAYS a useful distraction (with 12-man Teams ready to lift and shift to the Primary Target once Kurita 12-mans and Inner Sphere Solos begin to feed into the resulting furball) if it is assessed that Kurita is decidedly engaged with Marik/Davion and for whatever reason refuses to adequately reinforce the target of CSJ liberation efforts, senior CSJ Leaders can #CallAnAudible and look to speed drop a vulnerable (due to DCMS and allied Mercenary Corps Unit focus on distant Inner Sphere targets) planet upwards of 80% in just over an hours time with 6-12mans dropping in rapid succession... at this time it is assessed that ONLY 6-12 mans can optimally speed drop a planet with NO WASTED TIME due to the 10-minute countdown timer. If a seventh 12-man is added to the rotation, it is assessed that 12% efficiency is sacrificed with NO increased speed of world liberation... the 10-minute timer is basically a "speed governor." IF ANYONE CAN CONFIRM THIS UNSUBSTANTIATED FINDING OF "Six" BEING THE OPTIMAL NUMBER OF 12-man TEAMS REQUIRED TO SPEED DROP A PLANET, YOUR CONFIRMATION/FINDINGS OF FALSE PREMISE WILL BE GREATLY APPRECIATED. Thank you.

Since the 20JAN patch, CSJ has successfully liberated 37 of the 40 Kurita and Rasalhague planets identified for Smoke Jaguar liberation operations.

Increasingly the use of Inner Sphere Common Defenses have become significantly problematic for CSJ's advance to Terra. FOUR large-scale Counterattacks typify Inner Sphere Counterattack potential. A closer look at each can facilitate derivation of Unit, (as well as faction) Tactics, Techniques, Procedures and Lessons Learned.

Special emphasis needs to be placed on distilling Unit Lessons Learned from case studies of the five large scale Counterattacks performed against CSJ Interests. The more Units (thus having better situational awareness of the hallmarks of a Major Counterattack) that can better discern the telltale signs of a minor diversionary Enemy effort from a Major and significant counterattack the better. CSJ will ALWAYS have finite combat resources, it is up to all Unit members to #WorkSmarter given the drop opportunities they have, RATHER THAN rushing in game to get more drops in and potentially jeopardizing an otherwise winnable match.

The five large-scale Counterattacks against CSJ interests that remain of particular note include:

1. on 27JAN3050 at 2349hrsEST - During the last 90-minutes of the NA-cycle, Inner Sphere Mercenary Alliance (ISMA) four 12-man teams (MERCSTAR, MS(Clan Kodiak), ACES) speed dropped on the Smoke Jaguar world of Polcenigo, Ghost Dropping their way to a very quick 43% (http://mwomercs.com/...ost__p__4142650). this link provides a summary of the entire ISMA duplicitous attack on Polcenigo.

Much respect and honor to House Kurita's DCMS for leading a Inner Sphere Common Defence force in relief of besieged Combine forces on the Kurita planets... but we learn from our setbacks, unlike the Smoke Jaguars of Lore and will be ready for future such Counterattacks.

MISSION: Smoke Jaguar (inclusive of Smoke Jaguar-contracted Mercenary Corps Units and Clan defensive contributions) continues to FIRST DEFEND all CSJ worlds from Inner Sphere predation AND ONLY THEN prioritizing appropriate resources toward attacks along the CSJ axis of advance toward Terra, IN ORDER TO BEST POSITION Clan Smoke Jaguar to be the Clan that liberates Terra (though not necessarily the Clan that first reaches Terra - an important distinct exists here.

EXECUTION: Enemy Center of Gravity HAS SHIFTED FROM House Kurita Front Line Units, (NS, 36th, AVGR, 11th and 9th) to those newly contracted Mercenary Corps Units of BWC, CI, TEMPLAR, ACES and SERAPHIM. Priorities of effort are the defenses of CSJ worlds directly in the vanguard of CSJ's advance to liberate Terra, followed by DEFENSE OF ALL OTHER CSJ worlds and then liberation of new Kurita worlds from Inner Sphere tyranny, with CSJ "Priorities of Effort" complete once an CSJ "all-hands" transition in support of Clan Common Defense to Clan Ghost Bear, Wolf and Jade Falcon defensive efforts.

Just want to clarify on speed dropping:

The total number of 12 mans which can be utilized by a faciton is limited both by the number of territories and by the current enemy population.

You can never have more than one 12 man waiting to drop (10 min countdown) at any one time. All other groups will be waiting in queue.

If the enemy has less than 3 drops worth of mechs (roughly 26 mechs although it might be a few higher if there are small groups which prevent 3 full groups form forming), then if CSJ drops with 1 extra 12 man, we will get a ghost drop due to numbers.

If the enemy had greater than 3 drops but less than worth of defending mechs, the best option is to match their numbers exactly. Extra 12 mans in queue will be sitting and waiting until one of the current drops ends. This assumes the attacker goes the full 30 minutes. If the drops are going quicker, the bar is actually lower and 2 or even 1 gorup of defenders can accomodate all attackers without ghost drops. However, this also means the attackers are winning very quickly which is obviously bad for the defenders.

If there are greater than 15 drops worth of defending mechs, we need only match them to 15. Extra mechs will wait until a slot opens up to start their 10 minute countdown timer.

This generally means our best option on defensewould be to present 4 or 5 12 mans on defense rotating through hopefully winning every drop over the course of 29-30 (in a perfect world). This will limit their ability to take slots. However in reality thisoptimal config is not going to happen since solo players will get alerts to come defend the planet. When plsaying in a gorup vs solo players, winning is the top priority and ending the match as quickly as possible should be the second priority.

From an offensive standpoint our best use of resources is to match their numbers exactly. For solo CSJ vs a group of defenders, tarpitting the team in question should be the first goal, with winning being the second goal. Preventing spawn camping is a priority to slow down their ability to defend with organized forces. CSJ attacking groups should work to end the match as quickly as possible when facing solo players. Up to and including rushing. For team on team play, winning is the #1 priority. If the number of CSJ 12 mans outnumbers the enemy and you are confident of your ability to beat the defending 12 man, then we should use as much time as possible in order to allow other 12 mans the ability to fight solo groups. If the teams are equally matched, then use whatever tactic you need to to finish the match.

...I trust this to be true because reading it made my head hurt! I will revisit your comments tomorrow as some sleep now and coffee in the morning should remove the fog from my head.

Thanks as always Sprouticus!
