When you email support, include as much info as you can:
  • Screenshot of the end game screen with all of the player names.
  • Video of the offending action, if possible. If not, screenshots.
  • The time that the mission ended.

You dont even have to do that. Just dont be frivilous and wasting their time chasing wild geese. Be sure or possibly get in trouble for wasting their time. If your not sure say so.

AIm bots and bots in general are the bane of online gaming and used by the competition as a way to ruin games as well as other meanies. The list of competition for this game or online gaming in general is long indeed as its among the top earning entertainment industries period. Anyone can work out what other entertainment could possibly want to wreck that..... and this isnt mentioning the other online games as competitors.

Kindly redact names and official accusations of hacks (the mods don't like those) from your post, and send a report to support@mwomercs.com

To avoid moderation yourself.

Yes, it sucks, but thems the rules.

Rules may be changing.....

Is our Name & Shame policy fair to the privacy of players, or should we be publicly flagging banned/restricted players who have been repeatedly abusive in the spirit of being more open? What about the potential risk of "bullying the bullies"?

indeed they might be changing, and whether and how those changes occur are a valid discussion. But ATM, the rules stand, and good, bad, fair or indifferent, it's in the OPs best interest to follow them until such a time as they are updated.

I can't see any way they'd change regarding pre-PGI investigation.

Sure, there may be a board of shame for after PGI determines someone has transgressed... but naming and shaming by other players, before PGI has had a chance to look into it?

I dun tink so

Report this player if you think they are cheating, but looking at the score screen, I have my doubts.
First the Dragon-1N is using dual AC5, this build currently has one of the highest DSP in the game especially on Therma.
Second, AC5 have to contend with ballistic fall-off and leading targets and uneven terrain, two things difficult for an aimbot to account for (unless everyone is standing still, in which case an aimbot would be indistinguishable from a human player).
Third, looking at your group's (lance) match score compared to the others in the match, leads me to believe that you were up against higher elo players.
Fourth, dragons are not very well armored, it is difficult to believe that there is an aim-bot for MWO advanced enough to actively dodge and protect itself (especially with the beak on a dragon).
Finally, (and this is speculation on my part) I do not believe weapon, damage, or terrain hacking is possible in this game due to the server-authoritative nature of this game.

Like its healthy now?

I tend to agree with you though. I would much prefer that banning be posted by support or as someone mentioned as in another game it become part of your posting name.

I've never, ever seen anything I'd even consider hacking. Not even once, in 3 years, thousands of drops.

I've seen a few questionable things, but only one time have I ever seen something that was, in my mind, definitely a bot. And even then it wasn't an aimbot. Just an afkbot that would move, turn, and fire sporadically in an attempt to avoid being automatically flagged for afk C-bill grinding.

Aimbots are possible though, someone posted a video of one on youtube. Very obvious, it was even jumping to center mass on guys in cover and trcking them to where as soon as they were exposed it was core time.

My question is of all the hacking programs talked about don't you have to purchase them?

I would say one has to be a real sucker to do so.

Kids with money I guess.

He was switching targets very, very fast. My lance in that game were killed by him in a very, very short space of time. All 4 of us were dead in less than 15 seconds. all cored out by that one mech. People who were already dead on the red team, flagged it straight away and said that whatever he just did was completely not a human. Many players in that game stated that it was without a shadow of doubt, 'hacking'.

I didn't think it was possible myself, but it is. I've seen it with my own eyes!

Its not healthy to begin with ;).
All the rant and hatred would be somewhat fun to read compared to the current whine, whine about whine, whine about whine whining about whine threads that are nothing but sad.

Depends on the aimbot and how it works.
If it knows the targets movement, distance and projectile speed it can account for that better than most humans can. Shouldnt be more difficult than what has been already done for other games. Maybe it has been done for MWO too? ;).

Kids with money I guess.

When people spend four-digit sums on mechs and parts (which is entirely fine), there will be for sure some that spend two or low three-digits on a little helper.
Its not limited to kids.
Worst hacker Ive ever seen (not in MWO though) was well over 30 and at that time a respected league admin(!). Bad character is everywhere, with no regard of age and rank.

Youtube has many videos of aim bots in action. Its not something players should dwell on but it is liberating to know about these cheats and to carry on. They will be banned if they are using such cheats.

Hey I didn't say who to look at on that picture. ;)

Anyway I've sent an email and we'll see what happens. I've had several private messages from players saying they have seen the same guy doing exactly what I have described on numerous occasions and they also are very sure it's foul play. I know I'm right and I appreciate the support from you guys. The argument against it not possible is invalid. Aimbotting is in MWO. It's rare but it's there.
