The fear that it might be nerfed to uselessness is the thing that stops me from even wanting to get one. Developers have a habit of knee jerk reaction overnerfing. This is one thing that the stormcrow/timberwolf have that makes them such a great purchase, they'll likely never be over nerfed because there'd be so much playerbase rage about useless iconic mechs and wasted $.

Man, you really dont need to repost those tweets every single time. I read them. He said he has no plans for nerfs NOW. "Now" is not in 2 weeks. It's not in 2 months The 9s is going to get nerfed sooner or later. I'm not arguing if this is good or not, i'm just saying what is going to happen.

I don't give a sh*t which faction has an advantage in that trainwreck called CW, i'll just use whatever is best at any given time. I'm 100% neutral when it comes to IS vs. Clan. I simply don't care who has the better mechs, i just use them. The 9s is getting a slight nerf sometime in the future, like it or don't.
I'm not going to passionatly argue if it deserves it or not, because i don't care. I'll just use it until it happens.
Now you can repost those tweets all day long, hoping it won't happen for whatever reasons you have. Feel free to do so. But please don't create one ragethread per day "omg but russ said" when it happens.

If the comp teams swear by it, they can't nerf it. I suspect it would still get used just because of the IS need for range, just won't be a PPC machine gun.

Or.. they could be really nice and change it from ERPPC to just PPC....then you just butt hug them to death.

If the 9s is op then I wonder why I get the exact same results (in terms of dmg and kills) in my tbr c laservomitter but have to work significantly harder to reach those scores in the 9s.

At the same time it is nowhere near the tbr's defence capabilities (jjwalking).

I tested the 9s extensively. It is good but not better than a tbr. In fact it is weaker on several levels and will get owned badly in a 1 on 1 if the tbr pilot is any good.

You can simply jjwalk right in the 9s' face, alphaing again and again, hitting right where you want to (right torso then ct) while it is near impossible for the 9s to really hit you exactly where it wants to hit you.

The 9s is weaker than the tbr. Significantly weaker. Nerf it and it will be a sad joke. What some suggested here, nerfing the 9s/erppcs heat gen by 50 % is insane.

Whoever made that suggestion has no idea what they are talking about. I doubt anybody who agrees to those numbers has actually played the 9s.

Go ahead and play it. See for yourself that it isnt op and that you have to aim perfectly and shoot nonstop (while surviving which is much harder than lets say in the tbr) to get good scores which will, once again, not be higher than your tbr scores.

That's why I doubt that any of the complainers actually really played that mech. If you would have played it you wouldnt cry for a 50 % heat nerf. Thats just blind stupidity that will cripple the mech and render it utterly worthless.

Whoever says 50 % heat nerf is necessary has no idea what they are talking about. Play the mech yourself and then post your uber op results here. Play 20 games and show those games. Do that for a few weaks and then realize that the mech isnt op.

Who cares about what it can do on those giant maps in cw? Most of the ppl I play with dont even play cw because for half of us the fps drop is way too huge.

We play normal games. And in normal games the 9s isnt op at all. Whoever says it is op is simply wrong.

Eeyup, it means more thunderbolt 9S's and thus they can see how much this mech is bought as well as seeing how effective it is in game after the sale. meaning easier management with nerfs and stuff!

Also I am happy that I am not the only one buying the STK-4N!

why not remove the PPC / ER PPC quirk to the point it is very small and doesn't make people boat them and give a better ER PPC quick to the adder? warhawk? awesome? katapult? maybe a stalker 4N.... that thing is kinda useless.
