You should see some of the Atlas quirks. Those are bad. Like a AC/20 quirk for a D.. To name a example. That;s just wrong for one tier quirk

Would have given ballistic points instead of a specific weapon quirk. Not many run AC/20 on the D with 2 HPs for Ballistic

there are some mixed loads out there, but still see a ton of ac20, because "20 dmg one spot" is still very nice.

Also, it does have basic ballistics, with an extra on the ac20 it was designed to carry. SO, the quirks are right in that regard, though I think compared to other quirks out there, the % is too low. (or theirs are too high, maybe?)

Its just my opinion but I think k2 would work far better with erppcs than ppcs.

Also why quirks have to be just for one kind of ppcs on the k2, its the ppc hevy mech, why they cant have options inside their specific kind of weapon?

I'll share my perspective being a new K2 pilot (bought one last week on sale).

I've tried several builds. I tried ballistics early on, but the K2 doesn't brawl well, so unless you want to snipe with AC2 or AC5, they're wasted hardpoints. I've chosen to ignore the ballistic points altogether. So, I've tried PPC in the arms - shot off too easily.

What I finally settled on last night was just pure fire support with (2) PPC in the side torsos, and as big an engine as I could cram in it. Last match I played last night, I had 2 kills and 540 damage. Best match I've had with this thing yet. You're not going to change the outcome of a game with a K2 from my limited experience. If your team does well, you'll do well. Know it's limitations, keep moving and stay at range with your team, and you'll do OK if you have a decent team.

Honestly, the -9S should have it's ERPPC perks, and the K2 should have it's -regular- PPC quirks instead.

Not ballistic. There's no reason to bar them from mounting, say, an AC but the classic K2 (vs. the Gaussapult/Boomcats of beta and beyond) was a PPC carrier. Having it's primary quirks be PPC related and it's secondary ones being similar to the ones for the rest of the Catapult line adds some flavor.

Since boating is dull and generally not liked, PGI should set a limiter to quirks based on how many of a particular weapon you have. So for example let's use the 9S T-Bolt's PPC quirks. Say you place a limiter of 2 to those quirks. Now if you have 2 or less PPC type weapons mounted you retain the quirks, but if you decide to exploit the quirks by boating and place 3 PPC type weapons on it then the quirks deactivate.

well, one way I thought about it, is that you have a base Quirk percent.
Let's say it's Large Laser gets 50% (25% energy, 25 percent Large laser) cooldown.
For mechs that do not come with multiple of said weapon to begin with, you reduce the quirks based on the number added.

So for 2 Large Lasers, you get 12.5% cooldown on top of the base 25% for 37.5%
For 3 Large Lasers, you get 8.33% on top of the base, for 33.33% Cooldown
etc.

Whereas for a mech like the Awesome, built to boat 3 PPC/ER PPC it's quirks would cover the base number of weapons, but then start reducing for any extra added above that.

No, the K2 was obsolete long ago. The geometry and hit boxes of the Catapult are garbage.

PGI could fix the Mechlab so you can not use more than 2 of any weapon and these crying clan biches would still whine.
