I like the admission to the change in tactics. Good to know the massive forum outrcry wasn't ignored.

At least now I don't have to hesitate anymore. Charge forward, and glory to the victors!

Easy Peasy! The survival requirement made the last one pain beyond end with everybody getting cold feet.

Lose 2 guys on your team? Probably won't win this one. Suicide, disconnect, find a new match.
Do you have 1 kill and the score is 3-0 or 4-0? Your team will probably win no matter what. Suicide, disconnect, find a new match.

60 matches that alll 15 minutes amounts to 15 hours of play. If they all last 5 minutes, that's 5 hours of play. I'm talking about hours of actual play time, not including waiting for matchmaker. If you include CW matches, the time required is just through the roof, probably about 20-30 hours of play.

So what happens to those who already own the 3D-(C)? Sorry, but I don't like this challenge since it doesn't work for everyone. Give a new champion mech, sure, but an old one makes it pointless. In fact a new champion mech would cause even more activity, in my opinion.

CW matches should count as 2 points.

Being a Champion is easy.... Being a Victor was hard. The not dying part while carrying the team to a win made it difficult... this one should take way less grinding to achieve. Part of me is happy but I'm also kinda sad that they nerfed the hardest challenge (though the get 50 PUG wins was technically harder since i quit that one after 7 straight games with 4 kills/+700 damage minimum that were losses.)

Hmm... I guess I can try playing this weekend. Been meaning to take my computer in for repairs before playing again, but that would take too much time at this point.
Desyncs or no desyncs, I am gunning for this Cataphract. End of story.

This is an improvement over the Victor challenge, but I think the match score stuff is still the best method.

CW might help alleviate some of the stress of only having 12 possible kills per pug.

Maybe CW should make eligible the 1 Kill and 1 assist per dropped mech, so that winning the overall match offers for a point for each qualifying mech. Otherwise I can see CW drying up a bit as contenders drop elsewhere to make time for the matches needed to try to win the prize.

I don't have one because it was a Pop-Tart staple for so long. It was a favorite of the "I use this to Win because I can't win with normal Mechs" kind of players.

I used it originally as a 2 UAC 5, 4 ML brawler until the Ilya came along. I killed many a Mech with the CTF-3D! Then I adopted the Gauss/PPCs since I started to play competitive and it was a must-have Mech in RHoD which basically forces you to go meta or go home.

Don't hate the meta, hate the lack of balance back in those days!

Personally didn't have trouble with surviving in the Victor challenge, but had a lot of 0 kills 8-12 assist matches....
Scoring at least 1 kill AND 1 assist is easy when you're on a friendly team, but later on in that weekend there were a lot of guys gunning for kill stealing. The 30 point mark is also a bit much.... going to take up a whole weekend again. But good luck to those who do try.

My prediction is that instead of cowering and hiding for survival, people are just going to suicide and quit... so the result will be the same: Potential victories will swing to a loss because everyone looks out for themselves.

When I PUG my win/loss is more typically 1 to 4. So that'd be 120 matches for me ... matches full of LRM Assault boats standing at the back stealing kills from the fighters up the front.

I am opting out of MWO for the weekend. I enjoy challenges, but not when they add additional derp to the drops.

I guess I'll have to buy my 'phract as looking at my stat page, its going to take me two weeks to get thirty kills.
I'll be lucky if I can get the premium time.

Nice event for the good players though
