I was just about to ask if game mechanics that allowed us to defend other Clan planets would allow us to defend them from our own wayward mercenaries, lol. If so, I would gladly hop over onto the Ghost Bear TS and give them a hand.

Well we aren't and that is why the current relationship with people like MS an CI are standing relationships as they work with us on objectives as opposed to trying to determine what they should be. It is however a negotiable arrangement of "mutual" benefit. Notice the term "mutual" not one sided or dictatorial from any one side.
Also if you don't want to work with factions or other units, irrespective of game mechanics have fun trying to convince them to have aligned interests if all you want to do is dictate as opposed to having a dialogue and genuine interest with those relationships.
TIL that "working with" means "doing whatever a few RPers (who don't realize that they are NOT THE FACTION) decided a few weeks ago without our input, and never arguing".

You take what ever interpretation you want to project Peter2k.
I will continue to discuss business with parties on a case by case basis and on a basis of meritas and relationships.
Our icon on this banner should help determine some confindence in efforts afforded to the Smoke Alliance and their interests.

Several points...
1. You are in charge of the people in your unit. That's where you power ends.
2. You are not in charge of CSJ. Your power begins and ends at the border of your unit.
3. If several units agree to follow the same thing, that's cool.
4. See rules 1 and 2 but change your unit to your group of units.
5. PGI has been very clear that players will not have the power to force other players to follow their whims.
Add on: My loyalty is with the unit I belong to. If they choose to follow some sort of alliance, I'll follow the alliance. If they choose to go another way, I'll follow that.

From what I can gather, the side plan was to hit CGB from CSJ to help FRR. This is compounded by poor games from Kurita. In solidarity, I will refuse to attack CGB from your flank if it is against the wishes of the locals.

No need to get bent our of shape CSJ! The "greater" Smoke Alliance is fully intact. It's really ok. Carry on as normal. Your honor and dedication are proven. No need to sling "real" mud at folks who are out to enjoy the game. Prussian's awesome RP responses to QQ are the right way to go if that's your thing. Nothing game breaking going on at all. Let's keep it fun!
Of course, If all of this thread is RP, then I guess I just got mega trolled. Sigh. Onwards!!

Except....
NONE OF YOU ALL IS THE KHAN. All of you combined aren't the Khan, either. PGI is the Khan for every Clan and the would-be First Lord for every Successor State.
I don't care what you call yourself in your unit, or ask other people to use as a title when addressing your Most Esteemed Eminence. However, PGI from the outset, has explicitly chosen not to give players control over the politics and mechanics of factions.
Presumably this was so a few self-important roleplaying buffoons from MW2 aren't able to micro-manage where (and even whether!) other players can go drop and have fun.

Don't worry guys, this is all in good fun. We are only here for a week and then we will go somewhere that has plenty more action (if we didn't have a majority vote to go Clan, I personally would have enjoyed the action in FRR space). We wanted to see what the CSJ environment is like firsthand and now we know.
We are not one to break a contract, so we are here for the full term.
I WILL END PARTICIPATION IN THIS DISCUSSION WITH THIS: Your decision to maintain this alliance will gain you Kurita planets for now, but you will eventually realize how your primary goal of going to Terra will never happen. Ghost Bear will drive a wedge into Kurita and cut you off from Terra. CGB will advance faster than every other clan thanks to the help of their allies. They will return the favour down the road by crushing any of you who try to deny them Terra. Unfortunately, many here do not seem to have the foresight to see how this scenario will play out. I wish you guys the best of luck.

Thank you Karpundir. I sense in you a kindred spirit that enjoys MWO in-game, on these forums and across our Unit and respective Alliance websites as well.
Of course Community Warfare is a #LongGame...
...I hope to show the same good sportsmanship as you and yours do, now that this initial foray is complete.
Good gaming and good luck,
Meet you on the high (Terran) ground,
May your Opponent-of-the-Moment's resolve fail him, long before your last auto-Cannon round slams home in the breech!

Group hug everybody.
Edit: as far as Terra is concerned, every Clan knows once we reach Terra, a grand Trial of Possession is imminent. Most of us are looking forward to it. All the more reason to keep advancing to Terra at a rapid pace, with the benefits of alliance.

What do you mean ALL? First off nobody in our Clan knew we could even have mercs to begin with. The Clans NEVER hired mercenaries & in fact it was the Ghost Bears that declared the mercs dezgra in the lore. We spoke out against it from the jump. What nonsense are you talking? We had no control over it then & still do not now.
This person claims neither his unit or nor anyone in CSJ knew anything about the largest units of MERC's being with CGB and destabilizing IS treaties until now but finishes his reply with :
"We spoke out against it from the jump. What nonsense are you talking? "
Then then whine and angst from CSJ goes on for 4 more pages with the Clan Pot calling the Merc kettle black.

We found out at the beginning of CW that Wolf had attacked us because we had attacked them & wondered how that could be, because we were never given orders to do so. We had our invasion corridor & were focused on that. It was at the beginning we found out it was a merc unit flying our flag but we could not do anything about it. We then entered into formal negotiations with Wolf to discuss the events that took place which led to the NAP.
It is called the truth. As the saying goes, "The truth is like a lion; you don't have to defend it. Let it loose; it will defend itself."
P.S. Also note I said MY Clan meaning CGBI. I did not, do not & cannot speak for CSJ to whether or not they had knowledge of the merc units in question.
I bid you good day sir.

You may be right Kar, but a lot of that depends on how PGI's algorithm works and which team cuts off the other. We got maldanado tonight which sucks. If we keep getting 1 south and 1 east, then yea, CGB is going to outstrip us heading south.
Unless FRR halts their advance.

Remember CGB keeps getting Western targets also, so whilst you go east they go West... since Wolf lost so many planets CGB will probably be eating up worlds for awhile to come.
