That may be the case, but regardless of who he is talking about, he is generalizing the entire faction based upon whoever it is. That is what I have an issue with.

In the interests of keeping things civilized i wont talk about it more, like 99% of mercstar is really great, but there is a small group of people who have been nasty in the past and will likely continue to be nasty. You are right, almost every unit has a few of those people, but pretty much none of those units are even half the size of mercstar.

I by no means want to vilify any mercenary unit just for playing the game as a mercenary. I have several friends over in MercStar, and I have not played with a single one that has ever struck me as a wicked person by any means.

Just like every unit, they have their diplomats, and their firestarters. By vilifying them as a whole, you are feeding the firestarters and making it more difficult for the diplomats.

I really wish PGI would fix the mercenary system and the whole attack lane algorithm, but until they do, I cannot fault mercenaries for switching factions, nor for attacking planets of "allies", especially when the rest of our attackable planets are already at 100%.

The problem is, if they do so, they are not acting like mercenaries. Mercs, if they want to keep their contract, should respect their employer's rules and alliances. Otherwise, they act like a rogue force, pirates, dark caste, call them whatever you want. This is where their rethoric is flawed, imho.
