I see we are in a landslide agreement that majority wants Carole to once again give us a floorless performance as Mechwarrior Computer Voice now just hope PGI notice this

I'm pretty sure PGI already announced that the first Teaser Trailer voice was NOT final, and was only a placeholder. They already dealt with the flood of "WHY ISNT IT ALL SYSTEMS NOMINAL, PGI, YOUR GAME SUX" when the trailer originally came out. Some dev mentioned that it was not the final voice or line, and that they had not yet recorded the final product.

Calm yourselves!

I don't want just a static file to play, I want my computer to give me real info! My location, local weather, local time, and nominal type message. heck I want my alarm clock to do that too!

surely some intrepid hacker wants to get on the ball with this, contact Carole and set up a session?

we need a kickstarter!
:D

if we show PGI this is what we want and have a vast majority of forum members say yes to it maybe PGI will get the ball rolling all we can do at this point is tell them what we want and see what happeends

Definitely want her back. I can see the value of Peter Cullen doing it, though; I can hear it perfectly in my head. "Reactor online. Sensors online. Weapons online. All systems... nominal."

as long as it's - "online, online, nominal" and not - "online, online, online"... any female voice would do

I knew there was a BT term for this cockpit voice/vocal interface/whatever. I remembered it was "something-betty," but you got bitchslapped by the curse filter right there. Was it b4da55 Betty?

There was another one too. Ten million internets if someone else knows it and posts it here. I think it was "something-susan," but can't remember.

EDIT: I also really liked the voice in MW3 (BTW - this is one of the only forums where people know what MW3 really stands for. (hint: Its not Call of Duty))

Aff, the nomenclature for talking cockpit systems is the beeching betty. Primarily because all of the companies swore that men listen to female voices more astutely than a males.

Obviously none of the engineers were married.

absolutely NEED her back. I remember the voice in the teaser trailer for MWO and I heard:
Reactor: Online -- thought: good, sounds right
Sensors: Online -- thought: still sounds right
Weapons: Online -- thought: still good.
All Systems: Online -- thought: wait what? that isnt right. then I scared the hell out of my cat and screamed: All Systems: NOMINAL!

Wonder if we need to start a KICKSTART page.. No better yet have PG start a kickstart page for donations to get her. That way if the fans truly want her they would all pitch in. I bet it would take 3-6k to do all the stuff. Not sure on cost exactly.

except he would say it slow and deliberatly and by that time the enemy would be half way across the field. I also dont want some one talking a mile a minute just to get going. MW2 had the perfect pitch and tone and speed.

yes, PG needs to start a kick start page to raise funds to get her onboard. BUT i bet they already voiced in some one and they wont pay more to replace the audio. They would have to pay for the new voice. Then pay devs to cut in the new voices and make sure they fit in. Not to long or short.

if it takes fan donations to help make this happen, just let me know, I may not be able to kick in much, not having employment atm, but, I can pitch in something.

While Mr. Cullen may BE Optimus Prime, he is not the original actress of our beloved computer voice. No offense to my Transformers hero on this, but this is one case, where Prime is not needed.

Her voice was well done, though the sound quality certainly is dated now. I wouldn't mind her being the voice again.
Does my mech look like a *****? Than why are you trying to **** it like one?
I haven't laughed at anything online that hard all year! If someone played that sound file during a battle, I'd lose control of my mech. :P
I'd like the default voice (Aura) from EVE Online' date=' but I don't think that will happen. [/quote']

You mean the second version? After they gave us a hint that it was "a voice we might know" I recognised who it was. I suppose it would be alright if she was doing voice, as long as she wasn't driving:

I have to agree with a poster in another thread that George Takei would be an excellent option as well.

(This forum has some ui issues, quiaff?)

Yes, "online" must be changed to "nominal". That really grated for me too.

Also I think the best thing to come out of this thread is the idea for additional voice packs.

I would love a very verbose Carole computer that talked a lot.

Would totally throw money at my screen for add-on voice packs.
