I already told you the phrase mechwarrior came from the clans when they evaded the innersphere.

Battletech -> big mechs fighting on a field
Mechwarrior -> pilots doing cool things like buying and selling mech parts
So Based on those actual descriptions, which is this game more akin to?

. Some houses sent entire units and merc units to find out what the heck was going on out side of the known planets of the innersphere cause of the reports of fallen defenses of invaders.
They knew who their leader was he left the Innerpshere vowing his kin would return to capture it all. So face palm yourself. If this is a year before they invaded they already exist and we should be allowed to destroy your fractons for like 15 years with you having the same crappy weapons.

I assume you posted without reading anything about the game and it's direction?

fun aside what can explode is the superheated hydrogen inside but a nuclear explosion is impossible.
Still could be a nice lightshow. Can it happen yes does it has to happen each time your engine shielding is hit for the third time? No...

*grabs his old first edition Battletech Manual 3025 era* at that era the Clans were unknown and not even in the head of the lead designer....
strange the term mech warrior is already used at that time... page 10: "mechwarriors" i really like the subsection "damaging a mechwarrior"

get a really comfy feeling how important the pilot was

Yes I read that thread and it's massive wall of poorly written, illogical and largely unbroken text.
I also noticed that Paul had locked it down.
I also note how futile, and therefore pointless, it is to suggest they alter the name of a game that they have announced and advertised etc etc.
I also notice that everyone, bar none, has pointed out how technically wrong you are.
So leave it be and get on board.
