Ok, So Very Happy About The Urbie, But Have To Admit, I Think The "feel" Of The Official Art Is A Bit Off.

I like the squished one better than the original, but to be honest neither looks like an Urbie to me. It needs to be a trash can with legs, not a flying saucer that's landed on a torso with legs. The Urbie shouldn't have a waist like that.

Height-wise, it should be shorter than a Commando. The Urbie is supposed to be tiny even though I don't expect to get one that's properly scaled.

I believe you will find, unlike some chassis, the majority of buyers for the Urbie are forumites. And out of the hundreds of individual posts and buyers the "must keep Urbie useless" sentiment has been very non prevalent, and a good number of them are the ones who have said they wouldn't buy it regardless.

Guilty as charged Bish.

If we can do something about the clipping, I'd say the right pic is the urbie we'd want.

Strangely enough I like the official design. Didn't expect to like it. I Hope it's not too tall though...

My conceptual art memories of the Herbie back in the day was a Trashcan packin a big gun...I wanted one then and I want one now.

Hell, even grabbed the leg of a Locust once and used it as ammo when my gauss ran out of ammo, ruined the weapon but it WAS funny as hell to see the leg of a Locust sticking out of the cockpit of the Timberwolf I fired at(got REAL lucky and got a triple crit in the head) :) Grabbing weapon barrels and bending them while also punching your way through the side torso..not happening in TT, not even Stackpole tried to pull that one.

You could do THAT?
In all my years, I never tried that. I have used bits of other mechs to hit themselves, and their buddies with. Never did I use a Locust's leg as ammo for a Gauss Rifle.

It was one of the advanced rules back in the day, you could stick metal objects in the barrel of the gauss rifle and fire it, but you ALWAYS damaged the weapon in the process, occasionally destroying it and sometimes setting off an explosion if you rolled badly(capacitors blowing), so it was one of those 'oh shiat' things like DFA, which was extremely uncommon in TT play. I think in all the years we played TT, I used non-standard ammo in my gauss weapons 3 times total, got the 1 tripcrit on a TWolf which only ruined the gauss so it had to be replaced, totally missed another when I used a steel girder out of a building and only damaged the gauss to the tune of 3/4 of it's replacement cost, and the very first time I tried it I blew the gauss up and took off the entire right side of my Atlas and took 2 crits to my engine. Very rare thing to do as the cost was not worth it unless it's a do or die situation, especially since we started playing around 3025 and gauss were rare and very expensive. My pilot was about to retire when the Clan Invasion started and he was informed that retirement was not an option while the threat existed. He was able to retire around 3060, after we kicked the Clans all the way back to the Pentagon Worlds and nuked Strana Mechty until it literally had no dark side :)

I agree completely, the head is a dome not a bell curve and it is a cylindrical torso not an hourglass

I've already bought my pack based on the aesthetic presented in the concept art. Whatever the modelers end up doing with it I'm sure it will be fine. I trust they're not incompetent or I wouldn't be playing.

Indeed. The concept looks nice, but adjustments can be made to make it a true Urbanmech as shown above. Its really not all that different from the current design, just a little shorter, fatter, and more rounded on top.

The legs on the official look an aweful lot like FS9 legs to me. Same with the Jump Jets... awefully close to FS9 jump jets.

Also what's with the waist? My trashcan dont need no slimming down.

There are handheld weapons and mechs with rifles.
Especially the older ones taken from other universes and adapted.

That image also puts the Urbs at around 5M tall.

Urbanmech is around 9.

Well, let's see....
the Urbanmech sits at 7.6 boxes in height.
The Pilot is 2 boxes.
if the Pilot was 2 meters, that would be over 6'6", which is tall, very tall, by Btech Fluff. Giving it a generous 1.85 meter height (6' ), you get 6.9 (22 ft) meters, from the base of the footpad (left foot) to the top of the dome.

Still more than a meter shorter than the MWO Jenner
